Hmmmm, i havent read all the posts but....My first character is a Grav/Emp (Deep Reach), my second character is my Dark Defender. I never had any problems with Deep.

The heal power is good, damage from Propel is good, and Lift takes the bag guy and throws him down for a second so i can have a breather. The control powers immobilize and hold, so i see absolutely no problem with this set. The pet helps hold opponents and distracts them, i solo nicely and am able to act as a great support as well.

I think the problem is most people are tank and scrapper minded. I am lousy at those, i can tank better with my Emps, all 4 of my mains are Emp based. (Dark Defender, Grav/Emp, Fire/Emp, and Emp/Rad). You just need to adjust your attack style.

I did not load up on IO's, i used SO's and made lvl 50 in 3 months doing missions and streetsweeping only - no TF's, PLing, or Farming. 8 people teams running constantly 2-4 hours a day for 3 months and you will have your 50 as well.

I owe Cobalt for helping me realize Grav/Emp works good against hamidon.

As for PvP - Neuronia taught me defenders and controllers can be very effective. Deep has Dimension Shift, Phase Shift and Hibernate (Epic Power), so it is easier for me to control the timing of my attacks and leaving my opponent unsure. For offence i added the Frost Blast and Ice Storm powers, this also gives me much improved damage! When i add special sets she will be a whole lot more dangerous.

I have never solo'd a GM, never tried, my experience is against the Praetorians, Arachnos, and Romulus (Cimerora). Yes, Pets are extremely valuable, you need to know which works against which AV's.
For example: Ghost Widow is weak against ranged attacks and drains melee attackers to give herself health....Shivans, Wolves, Clockwork, Imps, Flytraps, Jack Frost, Animated Stone, Dark Servant are all bad....Vanguard Mech, Longbow Mech, Illusions are good!

I am a dark/dark defender, i am also known as AV KILLER, people call me to specifically kill AV's on Champion, i find them all easy except the RV ones.
Dark Defenders can still solo most AV's.
There are people wondering if i can solo Romulus 4 times in 60 seconds, and yes some people know how i do it!
If you know your opponents weakness it is not that hard.
If you want to know how to defeat AV's all you have to do is come to Champion, team with me and ask nicely, or politely ask me in an e-mail

On Champion server we have Monday Night MA hosted by Amygdala. She has organized an event where teams get together and do a specific set of MA arcs to help people get noticed and feedback. This is hosted in the RWZ building. You might want to try something similar on your server.

Starting a thread like this is a good way to get ideas. Get the word out on the Post Area for your server, it is near the main page on the bottom. Also talk to people you know and people you meet in AE buildings.

Bud justs wants people to stomp on, he has no intentions of actually helping anyone, so i was merely provoking him to maybe reconsider his command style and TEACH pvp instead of just looking for people to bully. He is great at PvP, what a waste to just use it to beat people.

If you really want to build up the pvp community, you need to make the enviroment easier for new people....

4shes has a new weekly 2 vs 2 event, the turnout was great! There is hope for pvp in coh.

Elf, stop rehashing the fact when i was a 3 month old heroine with NO IO's and my sg was only 1-3 months old you guys stomped on us, with 5 million prestige base and 8 heroes with no pvp experience we ALMOST held our own against your 16 members of 4 yr Purpled Vets. Kat you missed the point! This thread was a way for people to voice what events they would like to see more of - That is all! Something organized so they can always know to be there at the same time each month.

This is the type of thing i was trying to promote on the thread i made last week but for monthly not weekly events, glad to see more events.

I recommend though to maybe have 2 seperate groups or leagues at the same time, one for newbies and one for pros, so we dont get a 0-3 month hero with no IO's vs. Super Mr. Indestructible (5yr. vet with 2 Billion build).

This sounds like a very confusing story, but that is on purpose. The story is about power, corruption and betrayal.

I like to run this with 4 lvl 50's with 4 sk's on heroic, it is fast paced and fun. This does not auto-sk. The story runs better without auto-sk. If you run with all lvl 50's or the members are all purple'd out i would run it on Tenacious for a fast run, or Invincible for a very tough challenge.

This thread was merely to let people help organize some new events, that is all.

This thread was an opportunity to have more events on the server. Since no one wishes to contribute with a suggestion AOW will just hold the CC for the public, all other events will remain in-house only.

We were willing to host events at our expence and no one had anything positive to say? I have little respect for most of you as it is, after this thread, i cannot take most of you, your sg's, or your organizations (PvPEC) seriously.

Yes mentors still exist and always will, it's just a matter of timing and finding the right mentor as well as being a good student (willing to listen). That is the same for new people and vets alike. I have been ingame for a year and a half and still have tons of things to learn.
(I tank better than most tanks using my EMPS, but when i use my actual Tank, i scream for help!)

I try to get 4 lvl 50's then round out the team with lowbies. This is a faster way to get a team together than waiting for a full team of 50's to respond.
Bringing in new people to a vet team lets us share our knowledge and the lowbies get to level but they also get to try their powers with backup from more experienced heroes.

To answer your question Blackmelee, yes i do constantly mentor new people daily.

If you are a fun casual team based hero ask any member of ALL-OUT-WAR for an invite. The best way to find a great sg is just play with a few teams and see who you get along with best and see for yourself who is very active.

BTW....HoJ (Hammers of Justice) and UHB (United Heroes Brigade) are both extremely excellent sg's

I saw a taxi-bot recruiting on Champion, but i don't think they got off the ground. That was about a year ago. If you guys start again on champion look me up i can get you in our coalition temporarily to give you TP support or get you in Rented Portals sg coalition.

RENTED PORTALS is a sg that provides Teleports to all zones for new sg's, like Taxi-bots they are a true service sg. The only other sg similar to this that i am familiar with is

CRAFTERS sg, which is specifically a service sg, which will, for a fee, make any amount or any type of enhancement you need.

ALL-OUT-WAR is an sg that helps the community and we help those who help others, TAXI-BOTS would have our full support.

I have seen advertisements from another sg that acts as an alternate barter house to Wentworths to allow people to trade, buy, and sell, without having to goto WW, but i do not remember the name of that sg.

Also the trust factor - Anyone can show up at a RWZ Event, GM hunt, etc., i don't even need to go to these, so you are not earning my trust doing that! To earn trust you have to actually do something to help someone else, like team. If i can't trust you to help a mission team, there is no way i will trust you on a TF.

WOW! All this non-sense just because i said BB was a great hero (sorry for giving praise) and saying there is an easy way to take out Rommy (All you had to do was be POLITE and ask - how is it done!)

And Kat, going solo does not mean not using any or all of the temp powers, inspirations, or any other edge to get the job done, it just means being able to have the team elsewhere while you go take out the AV by yourself! You want to tie my hands and feet then say hey take out Recluse?

My team can distract all the cimerorans and stand on the far end of the plaza, or when done with the cimerorans and just watch as i walk up to and destroy Romulus even with the Nictus there (the Nictus cannot help him when you use this type of attack). This is not a bug, it is just someone who noticed his vulnerability.

I am not going to hand you the solution to this after all your BS! If you want the answer - think about it or just be POLITE for a change and get on my team in-game. This works with all the AV's except the RV ones.

You don't need to know this trick, i never claimed you needed it. I was merely saying it is possible, i have done it on many occasions.

AOW funds the events and hosts them so it makes sense to advertise the event as such, but CriticalKat makes a few good points, it would make for less drama to just get involved with PERC/PvPEC instead. Problem there is scheduling, but if i could make time and maybe get on vent with PERC/PvPEC members maybe i could throw the resources of AOW behind these organizations. We will consider this.

BTW War Admiral, you are partially right: A Shivan and Mech given time will take Romulus down (but not in 60 seconds). Unless you get 4 ppl to nuke Romulus at the same time you can take him down once that way as well, i think, if i remember how much damage a nuke does, i don't use them, too ineffecient (3 more times for the charm).

Keep thinking about it and maybe you will realize how i do it, then you can slap yourselves in the head for not figuring it out sooner

Since i dont trust any of you, i would not do a TF with you, but if BB was there to speed things up, maybe i would let you on my team. See how things work! You have to earn my trust in-game in normal missions first. If i don"t trust you, then i wouldn't waste my day on a TF with you!

BTW that was a hint in there : Battling Beastman, Cheif Aghurub (Shaawing), Solar Fire Sr., Prixy, ScrapHer (Kassey), Pyreklism, and Emprad all know the secret to Romulus and all of them can solo him 4 times in 60 seconds!

PS: SOLUN is on the right track, but i dont use nukes, they are too slow to take effect, Romulus should be down and out before you can use a nuke!

I do not play villz much but there is a tactic that works extremely well against all AV's and EB's. Someone mentioned bringing a Shivan, that actually works. I never pop a bunch of inspirations, i use those for emergencies, such as Mu draining my endurance.

If you are having a hard time with AV's. just bring some mechs (or whatever the vill equivalent is) and shivans! I solo AV's with no effort and now have 8 member teams who get stuck actually drop a member to have me come finish off the AV for them.

I have a darkness power that lowers their accuracy, toss in tarpatch to reduce resistance, throw a moonbeam at them once in awhile, let the mechs and shivans do all the hard stuff.

There are lots of temp powers that can help you overcome tough opponents.

I have done lots of TF's and only had a half dozen fail, but all those failed teams were ones i did without BB, and the one i did successfully without him had Pyreklism, Prixy, and Solar Fire Sr. on the team, all of whom are excellent heroes.

I am just giving credit to people who i think deserve it!

And TF's are really easy if you team with people you know are good and trust. My TF's do not fail because i go in over-prepared and go with the right people.
