Some comic evidence (http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/media_...ic_archive.php):
This is important when you consider that, in Issue 16 of the comic, Ms. Liberty says "These Praetorians are evil versions of the Freedom Phalanx from an alternate Earth."
However, the initial pages of Issue 7 make it ambiguous... he clearly knows Statesman, and guards clearly don't know him out of costume... whether this means he isn't part of the FP, or used to be, is unclear.
Then in Issue 10, he's pretty clearly not part of the Phalanx at all. -
I was out of game for a while, so wasn't able to respond. Victim 51 lived down the hall from me freshman year of college, and was a good guy, in game and out. RIP.

Ooh, I'd like to see this. Plenty of CoT rooftop victims are female, stands to reason a body is a body when you haven't had one for thousands of years...

Quote:I agree. I would prefer MUCH more robe-influence than these have. At the very least the minions should have more robes and less spikes:It's encouraging to see that the spandex is gone and that capes have been added to give at least the silhouette of a robed figure. The generic "spiked 'n' stacked" look still looks entirely too reminiscent of contemporary fantasy gaming art - from pen and paper RPGs to video games - and not something suitable to a comic book superhero atmosphere.
Hopefully there's still time before CoH Freedom's launch to bring the redesign closer to the original Circle of Thorns' feel as an aeons-old mystical cult, not "phase omega spellbinder armor" from some competing MMORPG or another.

I've been away from the game for a bit, are there any major changes to base building since/during Going Rogue?
-
I don't think Statesman has a derp face - the angle is just weird, and the nose piece of his helmet makes his right eye look like it's a lot closer to the nose than it actually is without the helmet.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to check the options out in game.
As far as new powersets go, I think right now I'm going to focus on getting current characters some Incarnate love, but they certainly look fun... -
I've been gone since before Incarnates hit. I've been keeping up with the game, so I have a decent idea how the system works generally. My main is a lvl 50 blaster though, so... anything Blaster specific I should know about Incarnate powers and Blasters?

Anyone else think the mouse pads are HUGE?
-
Twice now I've played a character through Precinct 5. Both times, I expected some sort of amazing musical crescendo when i entered Nova Praetoria. Unfortunately, the Magisterium area music, which plays normally as I make my way through the zone, did not play after the tutorial. I really think it should.

I haven't played through the new high level hero arcs involving the Praetorians, but I REALLY want to know: does Anti-Matter have a totally sweet looking orbital lab, that has windows that look out in to space?
-
Quote:I thought maybe it would be Neuron or Anti-Matter's secret lab work...The Resistance? Nah. You'll see. Whenever anything going wrong or weird in Praetoria, or whenever some group's secretly manipulating things from the shadows, who does it turn out to be?
The Syndicate. Every. Single. Time. The Syndicate is Praetoria's Nemesis Army. -
One of the early contacts in Going Rogue mentions the Resistance having "Plans within plans." You know who else has plans within plans? That's right, NEMESIS! They are for sure related. True story.

Sooo... I didn't get the mousepad. I will be calling the Game Stop back. I kind of thought it would be inside the box. We shall see.
Edit: called, the guy was nice, said he totally forgot, and that I can go back in and claim it. -
The official rules link goes to the main site's announcement of this, as does the rules link on the main site's announcement (never mind, the main page's news goes to the right spot now).

When you see random people grouped together, and you wish your AoE was recharged...

Quote:Babs talked about this a LONG time ago. Essentially, he said using BIG swords with the current sword type animations would look silly - the swords wouldn't have the proper weight "feel" to them, or something like that. He didn't say anything about the actual costume, but I'm sure they would look good on a costume.I don't so much mind the fact that weapons scale down itself, as much as I mind the fact that there are no truly LARGE weapons. The argument that "it wouldn't look good" no longer holds water for me, not when I can use RIDICULOUSLY oversized boots and gloves that, in all honesty, don't look good in most cases, but still look good on the right costume.

Well, a comment on the facebook page mentioned 2 other change emotes that the person thought were better... and since I thought this one was pretty neat, I guess the others must be super duper.
-
I liked PvPing in zones, then I had to stop playing for a while, then some sort of change happened to PvP, and now there's no one in the zones anymore.
I would be enticed to PvP if I could go into Siren's and fight people, like in the days of old.

Hilarious... and oh so true.

Quote:Although, to be fair, the clerk pushing the other game did know about the pre order items. I made sure, asking "this is the pre order for the items, right?" and he said "this is the only way to get them." Then he started talking about how great the other game was going to be.So did I, but this other MMO pretty much suck in design, game play and development...
And is not backed up by industry giants DC Comic/Warner Brothers, is not based on a franchise that exists for about 80 years with several die-hard fans, does not have Jim Lee as "creative consultant (or whatever), doesn´t feature stories written by major comic book authors...
That all plus the "clerk pushing game for sale" in the post above combined with "no advertise at all for Going Rogue" at the same store doesn´t look well for us.
So yes, time for some red name (pointing at you BP!) to update us on this stuff. -
How are you going to cite mission dialogs, whether from a contact or from someone inside the mission itself? Just curious.
As an example, there's the Maxwell Christopher arcs, where his dialog before/after the missions tells you a lot about Nemesis, as compared to the new I17 arcs, which give info on Protean's goals within the mission itself.
Would you just link to the Paragon Wiki page, or would you copy/paste all the mission dialog, without ambush warning/enemy types/other gameplay stuff? Or would you use something completely different? -
