  1. For reference sake, here's the info from ParagonWiki.
  2. I commented way back when during the first Halloween event that they should tint Hamidon cranberry color for the Holidays.
  3. Not like that hadn't been done before.

Of course it isn't limited to artists.

Sometimes they're both (scroll down to see June 20, 2008 post titled "She Said yes...").
  4. Well I fear the ending will be like Pan's Labyrinth or Brazil.
  5. Historically, post-apocalyptic/disaster series don't last long. The general public are either turned off because it's too depressing or simply wish some semblance of society quickly reforms so everything returns to "normal".

The two series I've seen that I can think of are Jericho and Jeremiah. I haven't seen the BBC series Survivors (either version).

Fighting off another hoard of zombies this week or rival group of survivors or scavenge for food or medicine or finding shelter so you can at least rest for a while without worry could get tiresome really quick. I haven't read the comic so I have no idea where this series could be going but I'll stick it out for this season.
  6. Am I the only person who saw the LBJ abbreviation and first thought of the late President Lyndon Baines Johnson and not LeBron James. I haven't watched South Park in years.
  7. For some reason OpenGL games, like CoH, will stress a graphics card more than a Direct3D game. No idea why.

Want to stress test your videocard, max out temp and power use, a number of review sites now use FurMark, which happens to be OpenGL based.
  8. Why send people when you can send a bipedal robot the the moon cheaper?

Treat massive skin loss by sticking the victim in a skin printer.

(again, this could be another blonde moment, not sure)
Let me take a crack at this one. The number next to the enhancement is the Level of the enhancement. They are good from three levels below to three levels above that range. So a level 15 enhancement can first be slotted when the character is level 12 and will "go bad (turn red)" at level 19. The exception to this are invention origin enhancements which never go bad but their relative strength is based on it's level.

In particular you should read the following articles.
Enhancement which is a general overview with links to more specific information.
Enhancement Diversification which deals with the diminishing returns aspect.
  10. Yea, that's been reported here as well. But CPU-Z rightly points out there is no L3 cache and the L3 cache is the defining performance difference between an Athlon II and a Phenom II.

The 6MB of L3 cache in the Phenom II kicks up the performance by another 7% or so.
  11. Sorry to say that's just wrong. The Athlon II quad core is a smaller die with no L3 cache whatsoever. You can turn a tri-core 4xx Athlon II into a quad 6xx Athlon II but you can't turn it into a Phenom II. You can't reactivate what's not there to begin with.

However you can turn a tri-core Phenom II into a quad Phenom II.

Personally I like that Intel combo for a single graphics card configuration. While the high end Phenom II quads (965/970) come close in performance to the i5-760, the i5-760 is still faster.

The AM3 is a nice solution if you are forced to start with not a lot of money. The Athlon II tri-cores are under $80. Intel doesn't have a comparable solution for the Socket 1156 at that low of a price point. The downside is you can get close to Intel's "cheapest" 1156 quad core in performance with AMD's highest price quad but still be a bit short.
  12. Kobayashi Maru?

    He tried fighting, everyone dies.
He tried waiting them out, everyone dies.
He tried giving them what they want, everyone dies.

  14. Well it was an interesting episode. I like that Rush inadvertently boosted Young's opinion in some people's eyes.

    Heroes love redheads. Go Eli!

Kind of creepy that the ship can get into people's heads and influence their dreams.

    Lucas

Speaking of Lucas, Foxtrot was funny this Sunday.
  16. CoHHelper will list the OS, the important hardware like video and sound along with their drivers and the game's graphics settings. It's useful for us to see if your drivers are out of date or if you have your game settings set to something unreasonable relative to your hardware.

Hijackthis will list all programs currently running on your system as well as all programs slated to run at startup. It's helpful because some programs conflict with this game, like UI skinning software. It also helps spotting malware and viruses, people running more than one active AV software or has way too many "helper" programs lurking in the background.

Basically it avoids a lot of "20 questions".
  17. Well first she went from TR to a position for their humorous Dungeon Runners game just before it got it's staff slashed to next to nothing (like within a month of her transfer). This was all before TR's shut down.
  18. My guess is the hospital was a last stand locally, because of the NG helos outside, so he wasn't left unattended too long. Also there may have been someone who stayed behind to care for those who couldn't be moved.

With lack of noise and the gurney, he was safe since it doesn't appear that the zombies do an extensive search but a "random walk" if they aren't either pursuing someone or are attracted by noise. I'm sure any survivors fleeing the hospital may have attracted the bulk of what ever hoard was outside.
  19. 1st of the month, bills are due.

Two more days until we are done with political attack ads of TV and radio.

Lamenting the loss of temps warm enough to not need the heat on but cool enough not to need the AC.

College BB season starts very soon now.

    Shiny! Literally.

Your own creation or did you make it?
  23. Why do I have the urge to touch your speaker towers in a particular order and open a portal to Tristram on your coffee table so I can go rescue Cain?
  24. I'm disappointed. Eight replies to the question "What to do with HOs?" and not one snarky suggestive answer.
