  1. The size difference in Warscythe vs Leandrea made the outcome all the more hilarious.

I suppose if you get punched in that general vicinity enough times anyone with common sense would lie down and have a little cry.
  2. [ QUOTE ]

There is the LRM from the epic set.

I tend to agree with most of your points. If an MM can use pistols, then why can't anyone else?

Grenades and Shurikens also exist in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh i know they exist in minor forms in game (Throwing knives are the Natural power you get when you make a character and actually look pretty cool too) but one or two epic picks does not a set make!
  3. My complaint isn't that it's too Fantasy, it's not.

It's that other than Assault Rifle, they're all melee weapons! Since when did we use them anymore with any regularity? Where's my oversized, compensating for something, Rocket Pods / Rocket Launcher / Harkonnen set?

Or my ray gun / crazy tech device set? It freezes, it heats, it spews acid, it reverses gravity and dislocates them from reality! Truly a weapon of kings.

Or a throwing weapons set? Bolas, knives, boomerangs, nets, grenades, shurikens, javelins and chakram hooo!

And if you say pistols are too short range for the setting, it's worth pointing out that the normal blasts have a range of 80ft which is well within effective range and this isn't even counting in the fact that gun slinging heroes are likely using guns that are better than average.

If we're getting realistic then it's more that rifles and bows have a ridiculously short range in the game!
  4. Emily One knows Infitron, but really I'd prefer to leave Emily fade away, she's just detached and Apercu does that so much better!

I'd happily bring along Soaring Horizon if it was a saving the city plot, or bring in the Lab Bunnies if it's lower scale. I tend to not get involved in plots that the whole fate of the world hinges on, mainly because I don't really have a character that's in that scale of power and they always feel massively out of depth. Not that it doesn't happen in comics, just I don't like playing it as it leads to me thinking 'Why don't I just go get someone who can deal with this?' and it makes my character look a bit of a twit for not doing just that.

Open plots are fun, but if you've anything complicated planned I'd keep it away from open. Mainly because it quickly gets very busy and that makes it hard to keep intrigue and suspense going!

Big fights in the city are great for open. Everyone loves punching things in the head. As are puzzles, bomb hunts and the like.

Closed is usually best if you want things to simmer down in spots or have a complicated mystery with researching, clues and people off doing their own things now and then. Communicating with the players OOC not only gives you better control, but makes them feel more involved. It's also nice to know you'll get back and the thread won't have gone on without you too far.

Stories seem good for characterization and doing things that might be too long or dull to roleplay fully, but are nice to write about. Especially as you can skip location and time a lot easier without having to wait for people to wrap up.

Endings? Not really sure what you mean by Alternate endings sorry!
  5. Getting her back out will be the trick.

Don't forget this is tonight everyone!
  6. I guess my problem with it is they're all weapons that feel archaic. Sure people do still use clubs and shields in modern days and god knows swords turn up plenty enoguh in sci fi, but they're not common enough to justify the number of sets given to them!

In short, where the hell is our dual pistols set?
  7. If I can get home on time then Soaring Horizon will be there, trying not to touch anything mechnical and expensive looking.
  8. Not true! you an tell the difference by the interchagable words used to explain what it does.

    Nanomachines = Polymorphing/Healing Spells
    Energy Discharge = Magic Missile
    Monomolecular Sword = Enchanted Sword

    and so on
  9. I think this is countered by the fact that the Vanguard, Riot, Elemental and Tech shields look far more awesome than any of the Fantasy'ish ones.
  10. Horizon nods at those not running off at the first minor setback.

"Oh absolutely, I was almost hoping he'd turn up in person. I guess you can't rely on luck all the time."
  11. "You're teleporting it into space?" says Horizon incredulously. "Yikes, won't need to remind me to stay on your good side. Still, it's a shame we can't track him down."

Kicking to her feet she looks about the street "I've got a wierd feeling this is all a little too easy."
  12. "It's a good thing so many people are taking an interest in my opinion." says Soaring Horion, sitting on a nearby Mailbox kicking her legs idly, head propped up by a balled fist as she watches with a large leather bound book tucked under the other arm.

She'd been dying to finally get back at Edward for bailing on her mid-fight last time they'd met. Nothing wounds pride more than being treated as if you're not even worth the time. Considering running clear Horizon dismissed the idea, she could do better keeping everyone focused on what's important.

"I'd offer to break the little chippy things that make it work, but i'm pretty sure that it's not that easy for something that took real time to make. So unless someone's good with bombs I say we start wheeling it clear. Oh and please don't blow it up, I've not had my flu shots yet."
  13. Dusk Spider plot? I'm in!

I'll be bringing along Fortunata Winters.
  14. Bodyshop is all about enhancing the physical characteristics of people! She can also speed up metabolisms, turn back aging and... basically she can shapeshift other people given enough time into nearly any humanoid like shape, cure most diseases and even bring back the nearly dead. It's an alternative take on the Rad powerset. She usually asks for favours rather than money these days, as she's got plenty of the latter.

Toxic Widow my Mastermind has toxins that can turn people into vectors for her putrid diseases and ailments giving them the temporary ability to poison others with a touch. She can also deaden thier senses or heighten them for short periods of time. Just me working around how the Leadership and the Posion Set buffs work.

Schroedinger can give people incredible luck, by altering probability although it relies on the perceptions of others. The power doesn't work in a One on One, but is fantastic when no one is looking or a lot of people at once! It's a bit confusing to explain and intentionally so.
  15. Just so I know who to hold out of plot, if we've not got one can we assume there's none coming?
  16. Emily One is very well liked by the military and its contractors and fairly unknown outside of that circle.

Bodyshop is well loved by the rich and vain for being able to do exactly what her name implies. No surgery needed to look beautiful.

Else wise the rest are just..well I wouldn't say average, but they're hardly movers and shakers of the world.

    They're Alive!!

I've had entire campaigns do this to me let alone characters!

Really I find if I can't feel a character is writing themselves without too much help I usually can them! Even if some do run away occasionally, or hold views I'd actually find distasteful and still argue for them with actual heart too!
  18. Maybe Sunday, i'm not really available Friday or Saturday!
  19. Yes I do! I always get those two names mixed up, good catch.
  20. Well I often exaggerate for comic effect. Else how am I going to fit Disney lines into my posts?

The 5 CEO's were, Shadowe (Who'd IC name I forget far too much), Zortel, Richard, Molly.Exe (Though admittedly not there as much any more) and Infinitron! Hoo-hah. Ed left us, but he might count as a half and we can round up if Molly doesn't count.

I was just pointing out that back story doesn't really matter for turning up, it's just a meeting spot we use to get the heroes out there role-playing. I've never really had much of a reason for any of my heroes to turn up there that wasn't very flimsy at best! The CEO's were just a quick and easy example, I could probably name better ones with a bit of time. Hell let's pick on Emily, she turned up originally despite being Paranoid about Heroes. Or Schroedinger, who hates crowds, still turns up on busy days because it's that or don't RP at all. PD is not an option for me!

It actually sounds a bit like the Silver Surfer that character. Which means they'd at least have an excuse to turn up and go all Herald on us, it's the staying about bit that causes problems.

I made my flippant and narked post already in a different thread. This is just your average grade silliness.

The student nationals is always fun too even if our tiny team will never win anything

    [/ QUOTE ]

I used to go to the nationals, though my friend runs our team he was petrified when we won and he had to host it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Haha! My Uni's too small to ever win luckily. The boozing is also a big part of it yes, but then that enhances the role-playing experience as people loosen the hell up. Or are too drunk to care it's all gone Pete Tong.
  22. Actually I'd go to say that likely that character would fit in fine with the current crew. About half the statue have nigh infinite cosmic power. Without the itty bitty living space too!

As for feeling a little off, to be honest most of the people at GG have no real reason to be there (5 CEO's and counting!). It's just something we happily gloss over as long as you're not going to try end the world right in front of us.
  23. I do it every time it comes up on the channel to be honest.

    Duck Tales, Woohoo!
  24. I've known a good few players who like PvP who were very much turned off by CoH's current system. Including me! So please don't speak for all of us on that one :P
  25. I'm just not a fan of Fantasy to be honest, though I can stand it in small doses and it does allow you to make some seriously polarized characters and get away with it. Unlike more modern or futuristic stuff where people seem to think the setting should be consistent and believable (Lies! Stop over analysing things like legal structure or technology and just have fun you fu-- nice people.)
