I'd aim for ~23% melee and ranged. Then focus on recharge.

I don't need another alt. I don't need another alt. I don't need another.. oh come on!!!

The +rech proc works quite nicely on Hurricane if you actually use it. I wouldn't use it on Gale.

People have always discussed builds on the respective AT section. I can't see why would it change.
I think it's fair to say that over 70% of ATs posts are about builds' questions n criticism. Even some of those that start off as a regular topic, might end up with a build suggestion somewhere. Yes, it can be annoying to see 5 similar posts on the same page, but at least it keeps that section active. -
Quote:Hehe. I don't care THAT much about merching. But yes, I roll mostly salvage and bronze rolls of a specific level. Sometimes I just go "bleep all* and roll golden recipes. If I'm desperate for money, there are easier ways to get some.I wont tell you what pool I personally roll as that would be one more person competing for my moneiz but i can give you a nudge in the right direction.
You want to be looking at the market and looking at the prices of recent sales with how many are up for sale/bidding.
You then want to look at the pool drops and find a pool that has good recipes that sell for good money in it - the more the better.
Once this is taken into account most will assume silver pools are the best, BUT, silvers are very expensive ticket wise and then you must compare them to bronzes in terms of ticket to ticket comparison ie more rolls from bronzes VS the potential profits.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Bronze_Class_Recipe_Roll
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Silver_Class_Recipe_Roll
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Random_Rare_Recipe_Roll
Then you also have to think about time vs profit. Is it worth it to go with bronze and spend alot of time deleting worthless recipes? or maybe go silver for less deletions and more nice drops?
Then you can think about pools that have recipes in high demand AND that have really cheap salvage.
Have a good chew through that :P
Happy farming. -
I do fire farms mostly for PL. Hence why I prefer Atta's cave map.
I went with BA's build with a few tweaks and I do perfectly well with 22% fire defense. The recharge proc in Shockwave comes up at least twice every mob, so HF can keep me alive if needed be. All my focus goes for killing stuff while chewing reds and keeping Follow-up 3 stacked.
It does, however, requires you to keep an eye on your green bar more often than not. But the extra recharge (and dmg) is completely worth it.
PS: Since we're at it: what do you guys use the tickets for? Bronze/gold recipes? What lvl? I usually go for salvage. -
Quote:I like your build - I just prefer Pyre because of FE and I'd like to avoid the trouble of going villain just to unlock Mu epics. My build is tailored to front loaded ambush farms, minimum required survivability allows me to build for maximum damage output - I lean alot on inspirations.
I can tweak a build to incorporate pyre, would you still be interested in manoeuvres or do you lean on the 2 lucks to softcap?
I don't mind relying on vengeance but I'll need to know which maps allow me to use that tactic. Got a decent ambush farm post-nerf?
Thanks.
EDIT: I don't have mid's here, but Follow-Up doesn't seem to have enough accuracy to hit +4 bosses regularly - or does Vengeance makes it OK? -
Thought I'd hijack this thread instead of starting a new one.
I'm also trying to figure out a Claws/FA/Fire build for fire farms. BA's build caught my attention but it might not be very user friendly on Atta's cave map. So I'm guessing you use a small map for this?
Let me know how does it performs, PR
Thanks. -
So, I was thinking of reactivating my second account when I saw this promotion.
It sounds awesome, but here's what I'd like to know: does it actually upgrade your existing account, or does it create a new one (as in trial accounts), meaning you'd have no characters, no tokens, et al?
Thanks. -
I actually enjoyed the vid. Not sure if you're a new player, but yea - good vid.

It's L50 this one. Pm/mail me in game with offer
-
I don't mind IOs as much as I mind Incarnates - hence why I didn't get one single Alpha slot on my toons.
I do understand your point though - I also dislike seeing 80% of the 50s soft capped for defense. Some sets lost its identity or uniqueness due to IOs.
On the other hand, this game is also a business. And the only reason why CoX (or any other MMO with this many years of existance) still exists is because of the tendency of making the game easier and more noob-friendly. If it still took a casual player 2-3 months to get to L50, the game would be long gone. If we were still in the SOs era, the game would be long gone. If we didn't have the Incarnates and Freedom, the game wouldn't have half the population it has now. And, let's face it, most people who try Freedom will eventually try at least 1 month VIP. Tching-ching. -
I also have a Storm/Dark defender that I would love to PvP with. I can see it working but not so much for zone PvP (which is what I'd be up for most of the times). I guess small maps would be the best bet.
I'll be transfering my toon to Freedumb and try to come up with a decent(ish) build. Let me know if you have one you could share! -
Hello domis.
I've got a lowbie Elec dominator and so far it's been a fun ride. I've been playing with mids, and a couple questions came up when it comes to procs.
1) How would FF+rech work on Jolting Chain? Does it only affects the innitial target, or does it also have a chance to proc on the following targets?
2) There's a proc on a sleep IO set (can't recall the name) that gives a small chance of healing a few hp. How would that work on Static Field?
Thanks in advance,

Hi there.
I don't have Mids at work, but I'll try to help you out when I get home. My fav Defender is Storm/Dark, so I think I might be able to give you a few hints.
One thing you haven't tried apparently is the combo Dark Pit + Thunder Clap. Neither of those powers alone do do much, but when you put them together you can stun everything short of an EB. That's how good it is - especially on lower levels. -
Quote:Thanks. And yes, I was talking about pure annoyance factor. I didn't expect the answer to be TA, even though I understand why. I doubt I'd have fun with it, honestly. So, I'll give some sort of debuffer with damage potential a try instead. The most obvious answer for that type of toon, which is what we usually call disruption, is a grav/TA or some other type of TA corr or troller. That's basically a straight disruption toon, not good for much else... Poisons have the potential to be fairly disruptive also. Therms can obviously be very annoying as well with HE, and can also do decent offense and some limited Support.
You can play a lot of toons to be disruptive, a lot of what goes into disruption is the mindset... For just straight up chaotic disruption, TA is still the obvious choice, but whether or not you want to dedicate a toon to solely that playstyle or not would determine what choice you make. Rad/Psy is a great toon, but I wouldn't categorize it as any type of disruption... It's less of a pain in the *** type of toon and more of an offensive debuffer, but obviously one of the best for that. They can be pretty annoying in zone I guess, with their debuff toggles causing indefinite TS.
Also, if by pain in the *** you just meant something that was so dangerous that it has to be killed, and meant less of a pain in the *** in terms of just pure annoyance, then this post is probably less helpful for you then I thought it would be.
Again, thanks for the input. -
Thanks for the suggestions, folks! I already have a Stalker in mind (KM/WP). We'll see how it works out.
I would also like to build a toon to be a "pain in the ****" to the opponents. A debuffer/sapper. Something like an Elec/Therm Corruptor or maybe even Rad/Psi. Any suggestions?
Thanks again.
Edit: I would be willing to spend a decent amount of inf on this second toon. -
I'm an initiate myself, but I giggled a bit when you mentioned 200mil to build a PvP toon. I mean, I've seen builds going for 100 times that value.
Not saying it won't be playable thoughgl
-
Hello all.
I thought I'd give PvP a try after all this years PvEing on and off.
I know very little about PvP, so I'd thought I'd just ask for a few combos to start with. I won't be investing 10bil on a build since I'm not aiming to be a hardcore PvPer anyway.
So, I'd like to have a support/debuffer toon and two hard hitting toons (ranged and melee). I do have a Ice/Cold corr and a Psy/Em put aside - guess I could dust'em off if they're any good.
Seems Stalkers are getting a very decent boost on I22, so I thought I would roll one of those aswell.
I'll probably end up asking for a build aswell, but for now all I'd just ask for help deciding the combos.
Thanks in advance,

Howdy fellow Illusionists.
I thought it was about time we roll another Illusion event. The name speaks for itself, it's a full team of Illusion controllers, running a few Trials and TFs.
Here's the suggested rundown:
1 - Team assemble @ Atlas Park, under the globe - gives us a chance to impress new players with our flashy skills aswellThe more illusionists the merrier, says I.
2 - Cavern of Transcendance Trial
3 - Katie Hannon TF
4 - Punish both Jack in Irons and Pumpkin Head
5 - I'll leave this one for the lot to decide. I'd be happy to do some of Maria Jenkin's arc through Oro.
Time and date
Saturday, 3rd December afternoon. I'll let you know the time during next week.

I'll be checking this thread every now and then, but I'd appreciate it if you could also email me ingame. -
You're missing Seeds of Confusion.
Plant/Storm is awesome because:
1) Storm is awesome by itself
2) You'll have Freezing Rain and Seeds of Confusion by level 16 (iirc)
3) Tornado does benefit from containment. So, by all means spam your AoE immob along with it
4) Freezing Rain + AoE Immob + SoC + Creepers + Tornado = massive AoE damage before EPP
I've always had a Plant/Storm planned on Mids but never actually got to play it. I do know for a fact that it would be a serious monster. The endurance might be a bit heavy since you have so many powers you want to use on every single mob (not that you need to use them all, but you will want to).
As for the bonuses, depends on how you're willing to play that toon. Controllers have too much control (pun intended) to actually need to softcap. Especially this combo. But if you manage to get ~20-25% defense it wouldn't hurt. Other than that recharge all the way.
Joga bonito. -
Quote:We did start earlier since those who signed up for it were already in game. Then I announced it on Virtue channels so we could fill the team.I was there and didn't see anybody. How did I miss you guys? 3pm EST right?
I guess I didn't see your post in time and I apologize for that. Nevertheless, more events will come. If you want, mail me your global and I will keep you posted! -
Quote:Thanks, I did know that but honestly it doesn't annoy me much. I did turn it off on a few toons thoughGlad you had a good turnout!
By the by, just in case you don't know, you can remove the store and rewards button. Menu >Options>Prompts.
You can still quickly access both via Menu. -
A big thank you for those who joined the event. It was great fun. We ran both Cavern of Transcendence Trial and Moonfire TF.
Hopefully next time we'll be able to run Katie Hannon and some other TF/TrialSee you then!
