Okay so i been looking into making one of these for quite some time now, but have no clue where to start. Anyone got a AE farming build they could post up or help me start one? I do wanna make clear that i dont wanna have a build that obligates me to use purple inspirations every few minutes. Please help me out, it will be greatly appreciated.

I do, but that would be me pandering to lazy people.

Post a build and we will tell you where you have gone wrong.

Or just use that 'search' function, which is conveniently placed right underneath the CoH: Freedom banner at the top.

kthx

[Union Chat]Sebaddon: If you want to, we will, if you think it's weird, no, that's damz, not us.

[Union Chat]Damz: hey cyber, i am your naked pope for the evening, please confess to me my child

I have a build already, and it has been tested and everything, but it involves having to pop lucks every few minutes. Now i could post the build on here in a few minutes, and maybe you could help me fix some things on it or whatever. But its not me being lazy or anything

I dont have an easy time making builds, specially this one and i even had to leave powers without slotting because i had no clue what to put on them. Please give some feedback or something to help me out.

softcap to fire with veng up
very perma hasten
i only slotted the pvp/arma proc because you had the arma set slotted they can be replaced by other procs if you want (recommend the pvp one in burn tho)

Thought I'd hijack this thread instead of starting a new one.

I'm also trying to figure out a Claws/FA/Fire build for fire farms. BA's build caught my attention but it might not be very user friendly on Atta's cave map. So I'm guessing you use a small map for this?

Let me know how does it performs, PR

Thanks.

My build is tailored to front loaded ambush farms, minimum required survivability allows me to build for maximum damage output - I lean alot on inspirations.

I can tweak a build to incorporate pyre, would you still be interested in manoeuvres or do you lean on the 2 lucks to softcap?

I like your build - I just prefer Pyre because of FE and I'd like to avoid the trouble of going villain just to unlock Mu epics.

I don't mind relying on vengeance but I'll need to know which maps allow me to use that tactic. Got a decent ambush farm post-nerf?

Thanks.

EDIT: I don't have mid's here, but Follow-Up doesn't seem to have enough accuracy to hit +4 bosses regularly - or does Vengeance makes it OK?

The build did pretty well. The recovery and regen rate were pretty decent. But i chose not to use it anymore, because im a cave farmer and the build wouldnt hold up much on a cave. Im looking to not have to pop any sort of insp whatsoever when farming. Kinda gives me more stuff to worry about. But thanks BA for the build. Its actually pretty good when it comes to small sized ambush farms

What is the attraction to farming maps that dont give all the mobs to cap tickets/map right at the start? Farming is maximising profits against minimising effort - ambush farms are perfect for ticket farming, I cannot see the attraction of gimping efficiency so you can farm without using insps

BA is right, I have a SS/Fire with 30%ish fire def so I'm good to go, ambush or caves, with one small purple active, 54s drop a lot of medium insps too btw. The rest I use a bind to convert to reds, and when I'm too lazy to convert or worry about defense I just use whatever I get mashing f1-f5 and I'm always at like 60-80% def (I know, way more than I need).

Whether it's ambushes or caves, insps rain from the sky since you'll be at the aggro cap if you're doing it right. On an ambush map converting reds you can cap in like 1:30 minute, maybe 2, don't remember but I used to cap in the middle of the second ambush and before the first Rage crash, if I finished the second ambush I'd actually cap it before the glowie. That was after the rez nerf but I doubt it'll take more than two ambushes now with the xp nerf since unlike lowbie farms you don't need to kill many 54s to get the number to cap when you click the glowie.

my ss/fire is 20% def running with rest recharge.

I dont use rage as im almost always damage capped from the amount of insps dropping from the sky

I combine everything into reds and I tear through 54s when im concentrating on my farming otherwise it takes maybe 3mins to clear an ambush (6 spawns?)

i think one thing that should be taken into account is the Insp combine macros that can be created.

I know you would like to have a build that doesn't rely on them, but the key is damage output. the insp are supposed to be your defense as well. I think you are attacking the problem from the wrong angle and you really should take a look at this.

I do fire farms mostly for PL. Hence why I prefer Atta's cave map.

I went with BA's build with a few tweaks and I do perfectly well with 22% fire defense. The recharge proc in Shockwave comes up at least twice every mob, so HF can keep me alive if needed be. All my focus goes for killing stuff while chewing reds and keeping Follow-up 3 stacked.

It does, however, requires you to keep an eye on your green bar more often than not. But the extra recharge (and dmg) is completely worth it.

PS: Since we're at it: what do you guys use the tickets for? Bronze/gold recipes? What lvl? I usually go for salvage.

I wont tell you what pool I personally roll as that would be one more person competing for my moneiz but i can give you a nudge in the right direction.

You want to be looking at the market and looking at the prices of recent sales with how many are up for sale/bidding.
You then want to look at the pool drops and find a pool that has good recipes that sell for good money in it - the more the better.

Once this is taken into account most will assume silver pools are the best, BUT, silvers are very expensive ticket wise and then you must compare them to bronzes in terms of ticket to ticket comparison ie more rolls from bronzes VS the potential profits.

http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Bronze_Class_Recipe_Roll
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Silver_Class_Recipe_Roll
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Random_Rare_Recipe_Roll

Then you also have to think about time vs profit. Is it worth it to go with bronze and spend alot of time deleting worthless recipes? or maybe go silver for less deletions and more nice drops?

Then you can think about pools that have recipes in high demand AND that have really cheap salvage.

Have a good chew through that :P

I've heard the same thing about damage output and recharge over defense, and im not saying the build was horrible, it was the very opposite, i liked it very much. But im the type to get carried away with killing and lose focus of my health, and then end up dying because i couldnt keep an eye on it. I havent been able to get the binds down so i can convert one insp to another so that kinda plays against me as well. But yea, BA your build was very helpful nonetheless

Hehe. I don't care THAT much about merching. But yes, I roll mostly salvage and bronze rolls of a specific level. Sometimes I just go "bleep all* and roll golden recipes. If I'm desperate for money, there are easier ways to get some.

Happy farming.
