Right, managed to get it after about 5 more tries, but now I can't get the GR complete collection pack -.-
Ah well, couple more tries I guess... -
Well you don't have to run Darkest Night all the time, you know. I use it only in the toughest fights. Except on my /ElA brute since he has unlimited endurance, with him I use it every time I can be bothered to not smash things for the duration of the casting time.

For farming, the tanker just can't compete. You simply don't need that extra survivability, and the scrapper does way more damage.
-
If you want to maximize your AoE damage, then Mu Mastery is the obvious choice with two AoE attacks. I'd strongly suggest Soul Mastery, however, because besides AoE it also has a great ST attack in Gloom, and as an ElM toon you're severely lacking in that department.
I would not recommend Pyre Mastery except for thematic reasons, because although Fireball is stronger than any other single AoE available in the pools, the two AoEs in Mu Mastery beat it together. Fireball also costs you one power pick extra. -
That entirely depends on your playstyle, expectations and budget. Personally, I'd say that a SS/SD is better overall, definitively tougher, but a SS/FA should be able to crank out more damage.

Since I couldn't find the answer on the wiki, I figured I'd ask here: is Defense Debuff Resistance capped (hard or soft) at a certain value? I remember something about the cap being 95%, but can't find any sources on this. I'm asking because on paper I could get 100% DDR for a tanker of mine, but leaving it at 95% would save a couple of slots.

It seems a bit odd that LF would make such a huge difference in such a short amount of time.
-
Not sure about that. My claws/SR scrapper takes twice the time to kill the same amount of stuff as my SS/ElA brute. But I don't know if that's due to the small radius, no taunt aura, or doublestacked Rage.
-
Get them to 22 and slot some SOs. Before SOs, scrappers are quite... underwhelming.
Or roll a brute. They're beasts from the get-go thanks to fury. -
Quote:I'd say /dark hands down. It has the best heal, covers exotic resistances the best, has built-in defense and an aura that prevents the mobs from attacking.so out of /elec /dark /fire, which has the most survivability, and why, please.
Fire and ElA don't have such an aura, have worse heals, and each of them has a resistance hole - Fire has psi, ElA has toxic. -
The same way as always. I take the alpha and smash stuff like a cackling madman. Instead of spiking to 95% fury like before, it spikes to a bit over 80% and suddenly slows down. Further than that, the fight has to last a bit longer.

Taking a broad look at all the assault sets (without crafting specific attack chains), Ice seems like a top contender in the AV soloing arena. Mostly thanks to Bitter Ice Blast which has the second highest DPA, straight after Blaze (ignoring Seismic Smash because its recharge makes it unlikely to be effectively used in an attack chain IMO).
And Mind is the best set for such things, so the pairing is a natural winner. -
Quote:Mids disagrees with you. At 3 damage SOs in the attacks and saturated Soul Drain for both toons, with 100% fury for the brute, the scrapper wins:I seriously doubt a Dark/Dark scrapper will outdamage my Dark/Dark brute when he gets the current max Fury. I mean it, too.
Smite - 286.1 scrapper > 270.3 brute
Siphon Life - 424.8 scrapper > 401.3 brute
Midnight Grasp - 598.2 scrapper > 565.1 brute
Brute only wins by a tiny amount with Death Shroud at 41 damage vs 39.4 for the scrapper. At 91% fruy the brute is down to the same damage with Death Shroud and to an even bigger difference with the other attacks.
That's how it goes for sets which rely on +damage.
Btw, FA still favors the brute because it doesn't have +damage buffs but adds straight up damage, and fire DoTs are affected by fury (for example Burn) but not affected by crits. -
Quote:I don't see how this is true. It's certainly harder to get to 90% fury than before, but I don't have any problems reaching 80% solo or teamed, which is the amount I base all my calculations in Mids on. And guess what - at 80% fury, a brute does more damage than a scrapper, except on those sets that make significant use of +damage buffs, of course (SD and DB for example, although Claws are interestingly an exception to this as the brute base numbers on the attacks are higher than scrapper ones). With GR/I18, it already happenned. Brutes' fury have been nerfed for top user. So scrappers will always do better damage (with the same powersets) especialy when you factor in shield or fiery aura.
The #1 reason why I vastly prefer brutes to scrappers is that they have a much easier time leveling up. Scrappers do piddly damage until they stuff 2-3 damage SOs in their attacks, while brutes have great damage out of the box thanks to fury. -
SwellGuy covered it well. If you didn't have 3 tips already, the RNG hated you that day. But have in mind that you can only hold 3 tips at a time - if you don't do their mishes or drop them, you won't get any new ones.
-
The most powerful blend for a brute will, of course, be Claws. Can't beat that for a blender!
-
Quote:Log into lvl 50 claws/SR scrapper. Go to Dark Astoria. Super Speed to spawn. Take position at one end of spawn. Shockwave the mob at the opposite end. Super Speed to next spawn, etc. When tip slots are full, go to Talos and ghost the mishes (set at -1/x1). When all 3 mishes are done, return to DA for the last 2 and repeat the process. If day = 1, log out. If day = 2, get back to DA for the morality mish.Holy cow people are blowing through 11 tip missions in 90 minutes? Share secrets please lol.
That's how I do it, and it takes me no more than an hour of total play time, of course spread over 2 days. -
Having taken a brute with Inv to 30 for a first time, I must warn prospective new players that Inv can be somewhat of a drag till 28. You do good versus mobs with smashing and lethal damage, but are quickly eaten up by those who have other damage types prevalent. At 28, however, you get Invincibility and become godlike.

Quote:You can't, because if what you say is happening, you are using the European game client. The European and American servers are separated, and with one account you can only play on either the European or the American ones (this is determined by your purchase).By the way, this guys PM'ed about joining the server Virtue but I can't seem to find it in the server selection, just Defiant (?), another english server (not Virtue) and two german servers. How do I join virtue?
If you live in Europe and have purchased the European version of the game all is fine, join either Union or Defiant (Union used to be much more populated than Defiant a few years back, but I hear things are much more closer now). If you live in America and have purchased the American version, you should download the American client.
If you live in Europe and have purchased the American client, be aware that although American servers are more populated than the European ones, you will likely be playing during off-hours because of the timezone difference. If you live in America and have purchased the European client... I'd try to get a refund in your place. -

Being a strong supporter of /elec, I'd really recommend you try claws/fire with the /fire changes in I18. Either it will outdamage a claws/elec now, or the devs made a poor job of fixing /fire.

Thank you St0n3y for everything you've done for us! And best wishes! I have no doubt the rest of Mids' team will continue the terrific work.
Btw, the damage of powers in most of the proliferated epic pools seems off to me (I can't check the values in beta). For example, scrapper Fire Blast lists 92 average points of damage while Fireball lists 79.8, but Mu Bolts lists 125.1 and Ball Lightning 95.7. There are several other cases where the patron pool powers have noticeably higher damage than their hero-side counterparts, but this is the best example since fire attacks should be dealing the most damage. -
Because of the way damage bonuses work in the game - scrapper.
