Mind/Ice: What's Skippable

I recently rerolled my lvl 50 Mind/Cold/Primal Controller as a Mind/Icy Assault Dominator. I've been having a blast, but am not sure which attack powers are considered vital. I was planning on skipping Mesmerize, but taking Levitate and Dominate. All of the attacks in Icy look good (good damage and very fast animations). Which ones are the must haves and are any of them particularly skippable?

I was planning on skipping Chilling Embrace and possibly Telekinesis unless talked out of it.

Check the powers guide in my sig for my full opinion.

You've encountered the biggest issue with Mind/Icy, you want every power. Except Chilling Embrace. The rest is preference, there is no wrong answer. Except for skipping Dominate.

Thanks that's very helpful. I don't seem to see a lot of /Ice Doms around. Is it considered sort of 'unremarkable'?

I guess so. It's basically average at everything, except endurance usage, in which it excels by which I mean it can empty your blue bar in no time.

That said, I really like Mind/Icy and I'm prepping it for the heroic main counter to Mind/Fiery villain main (incidentally named Oedipus Tex).

Taking a broad look at all the assault sets (without crafting specific attack chains), Ice seems like a top contender in the AV soloing arena. Mostly thanks to Bitter Ice Blast which has the second highest DPA, straight after Blaze (ignoring Seismic Smash because its recharge makes it unlikely to be effectively used in an attack chain IMO).

And Mind is the best set for such things, so the pairing is a natural winner.

Very true about the endurance usage. My Ice/Ice has an end redux slotted in every attack, a Miracle +Recovery in Health, and a Performance Shifter +Endurance in Stamina. He still runs low on end at times with Arctic Air going.

That being said I do find /Ice to be a fun set. But then, my first 50 hero was an Ice/Ice Tanker. I love all the ice sets in general.
