Games ages naturally. As an old person sometimes lose bone mass games lose people. Some age gracefully, some die ugly. Some lose a lot of "bone mass" some lose only a little bit. All depends on the game. after six years, this game is ding pretty well besides a few bald spots. But as you have cities with 100 people that refuse to leave or even the few people that was recently removed from the coal fire town of Centralia, even when it was hazard to their healths, they still didnt want to budge till the end. About the same concept. The town aint empty to them, they know the rest of the 5 or ten. They was a tight knit community and liked it like that. Or course a new guy in town might see it as dead, they dont. And the thousands that moved, said the town was dying, they seen it as a thriving community. And I think that how even the low pop servers will be until the last hero is pulled kicking and screaming saying there is lot of life left in the server.
Unfortunately, when the gaming community see servers merging, it usually is percieved as doom as we all know people take their perception as absolute truth and what they and gather is the way it is in stone and if you dont see it their way then your idea is stupid.
Hey, as long as there is enough traffic on a server to keep it open, then all for it. Plus it's nice to have a spot to take a break from all the bustle and hustle. It's nice to roll through Atlas and 50 odd characters are standign around under the satue waitign for costume contest and another 25 waiting for the next one that is sceduled after ten minutes after the first one ends. Sometimes it's nice to do ol fashion street sweeping without having to rush so that some random guy steal ya kill just because street mobs are scarce for the map and the amount of people street hunting. Sometimes it's nice to hang around old pals who been around since ya first hero and still kicking it in victory and talking about old times. At the same time, it's nice ot bea able to find a team when the tight nit group is on vacation. Or find a nice PuG within 10 min. Or even a random LFT is good too at times.
Some people like jelly some people like jam some people like fired bacon and bannana and eac hgroup with swear that their taste is superior and everyone else is stupid for not liking what they like. -
hm have been seeing less Wolverines lately. I do not think everyone knows about that rule, and some that do "forget" about that rule, or hell they might not care about it or they might do it to get a rise.
Just like if you walk up to a person and say, "hey, you cant smoke there." You'll probbly get same reaction even if the law is the law or you come across someone at the gas station and say, "hey, down that road you was speeding, that's against the law." People dont abandon habits when they get online usually, they either amplify one side of themselves, get bolder, or get rebellious. -
I hope they fix the bloody thing one way or another.

Quote:with rage you still crash to the point where you do very little damage and stuff even if the one that over laps it is still up. Dom on the other hand, when it crashes and you over lap them, the one that wears off just goes away with no effect. To my understanding, you could easily achieve perma Rage with 3 recharge SOs, making avoiding the crash an incredibly easy task. Perma Dom, on the other hand, requires a hefty amount of +Rech from IOs or outside buffs, and the power itself isn't slottable at all.
Domination used to give a damage bonus, but now that that's been spread out across the secondaries as buffs and removed, I don't think Perma Dom is as OP as it used to be. For sets like Ice and Gravity, Domintation is basically an end refill and status protection, since their main controls aren't boosted by it.
I think we're fine. But I'm not going to ragequit if they suddenly think it needs nerfed. Even though it won't last twice as long, having my ST hold recharge in 3 seconds(or less) is really nice. -
With Ios and recharge things I hear about and seen some Dom reach a level of perma dom. To me it's great, and I think it's just is the fruit of proper slotting. Yet on the flip side, some people said that perma dom makes everything too easy, or is over powered. Now, I remember in Super Strength, you use to could have it perma and never suffer the crash. Now it has been changed as it will go into crash mode even if another Rage is up or three for that matter. I havent been watchign the news laterly but I've been heaqrign about improvements lately will Perma Dom suffer the same fate or is it safe to say that investment is safe? what's the word?

Quote:I just got back into the game and rolled a Kinetics/DP Defender to see how it would work out, and while I have only played the character up to level 21 I must say that I have been quite underwhelmed by the Pistols set's offensive capabilities. Particularly troubling are the long attack animations that root me in place for several seconds to have the same or less damage payoff as similar attacks from other sets that have cast times half as long.
Am I missing something that changes the balance later, or is the Dual Pistols set really as wimpy as it seems to be?
they do seem to be oddly underpowered on sets like defenders and the likes but seem ok on blasters and the likes. But weak is all a relative term. The strongest man in the world is a weakling compared to most wild animals pound for pound. -
the praetorian planned is still in the rough draft stages. Still on the fence with the look. I might make it a KM/ and a secondary (or primary) that I havent used much yet. I havent did ice or fire armors. But fire armor probably wont happen till way later down the line. Might be energy armor.

wierd aint it. My cpu is no top of the line unit or no uber gaming machine but I can run COX twice, search net, watch movie, and play freecell all at once and not a prob. I rarely get lag unless it's them team wide blips that come and goes every blue moon. Then I testd out a new machine and holy blazes barely could run one set of COH by itself. I'm keeping my old box till it kicks then I'ma builda replica without windows vista or the likes or course.

Quote:Energy Melee needs two things:
1. A buff to Whirling Hands
2. A buff to Energy Transfer (and no, adding knockback is not a buff in any way, shape, or form).
So here's what you do:
1. Increase the radius of Whirling Hands from 8 feet to 10 feet, increase the damage slightly
2. Give ET the Stun animation, and give Stun the old ET animation.
Problem solved!
thought they nerfed energy transfer. It used to be more powerful before. -
hm those flags are really handy when searching for people looking for a team. I must say I rarely change them myself as the amount of times getting an invite when it's default mode and green or another color is nill. Yet at the same time I dont car about blind invites tells or what ever other means of team invites. If I'm busy and the middle of something I politely decline. If I'm avail and ready for teaming, I'll join. I overall rarely actively search out a team or form one and mostly solo unless something better just so happen to float my way but that is me and that's all I can speak for. Sometimes I wish it could stay the flag that you last logged out on until changed personally.

it was the idea that spawned my first group of villians and my first hero. Kinda stuck sicne then.
It included Personified Evil SS/Inv brute i7 Realease
Axeman-WM/Inv Tank I6 deleted I6 with the creation of Elainia (Future reincarnation pending)
Elainia-AR/fire blaster I6
Veronica Blake- Dark/dark corruptor I6
Lord O'Flame Merc/dark MM I6
M O'Flame Nin/nin Stalker I7
Versailles Blake (first incarnation) Claw/inv scrap I6 deleted I7 reincarnated as thug/ff MM (when thugs powerset became avail.
SGA V1 Trina-MA/Regen scrap-I7
SGA V4 Sky- Katana blade/SR scrap I13 (She is the last to be made connected to the Evil_Legacy group but has been mentioned since the story of SGA V1 since I7)
Vince Blake while mentioned in the story of Veronica Blake in I6 is not considered part of the Evil_Legacy storyline since he was generally too busy running the Blake family crime buisness until Versailles splintered it in I13 after the E.Legacy story ended, bringing him onto the front lines as a SS/WP brute. -
never heard of him or seen him before. they making a movie of him soon? I think it's about his turn now.
-
to me brutes and scraps play similiar but different.
plus I just like villian side and sometime the fury bar fits into my concept.
Fury bar rises to increase damage for more power while scraps get a chance for about double. that mechanism alone is enough for me to playeither or or both. bot hare good to me. -
in short what was the incarnate system about? I read bits and pieces but sounded like thye was planning on doing lot more than what was let on at first.

Quote:official animation time is the same but the punches in graphic movement like the jab is abit faster. You probably noticed a lag between attacks as the actual official animation completes.Kind of curious here. The new animations for Martial Arts and Super Strength are pretty cool, especially since it "seems" like the animations are a bit faster. However, is it really faster? By faster, I mean from clicking the power icon to actually registering the hit. I'm sure it can't be faster or that would be pretty unbalanced...but I can't help it, it just "feels" faster for some reasons.
They are cool looking though IMO IMO IMO. I'm sure some people disagree and that's ok. that is ok. I THINK.. it's cool looking. -
Quote:This is not a rant.
I could be wrong.
That said, it feels like hero side gets fewer merits than villain side, at least at earlier levels. By the time I have hit 13 I have ran through at least two story arcs and have 10 - 15 merits on the villain side.
Hero side I do not even find a story arc until level 10 it seems. I am sure Wincott as a story arc but really that seems to be the only one at that level, and to be honest, I avoid the Hollows like a plague. I have done the arc enough times to know I find it boring, and other than Frostfire's half pipes, that mission is not worth the trouble it is to fight him.
So, am I missing some story arcs hero side? Do we actually get fewer merits over there?
but heros can make it up wit hthe Tfs every five levels up to leve l40. Villians have renault, ice mistrel and that spikey chick SF which each of them mostly give less merits than the hero side Tfs which do tend to be mroe missions and thus more merits. -
word of mouth is that they are already eyeballing SD
-
Quote:Eh, I tend to not follow the FoTM route in games, and it seems everyone and their brother and possibly sister have an elec/SD. Not to say it isn't effective, I just don't tend to follow the pack per-say.
The secondary is not solely between SR and Regen, I'm just looking for a little guidance. Call of the Sandman is a no-go then huh?
FoTM today is forgotten about later. Remember when Spine/Regen, Fire/Kin, and others that I really cant even remember well. I know one of them was a stalker build but cant remember whic was it nin/ninj? -
virute seems to be not well. Thing there is a critter messing with the hamsters of Virtue server.
