I'd bet that Wentworth's sucks more inf from the game in a good week than the inf->prestige conversion ever has. I have no idea who the "88s" are, but reading this thread I assume they are the top ranked SG. I've never looked at the list, and I doubt I'm the only one.
  4. So far, really enjoying this season. I was a little disappointed in the Fae scenes in that I think they seemed to drop Sookie's heritage, but perhaps we'll get back into later. Lafayette as a supernatural necromancer in training is cool. Jessica going total vamp is awesome! I hope she eats Hoyt.

It looks like the new Vampire King is going to lose his main squeeze this season for good to Eric. We can only hope for Stephen Moyer's sake that life does not imitate art.

Fiery Embrace enables a Mode that allows your attacks to apply an extra bit of Fire damage, a mode could be added to Energy Blast(and various other powers, which could be done on a case by case basis) where all the mode does is add the Knockback effect. Then a method of enabling/disabling the mode could be added to Null. Have the mode default to ON.

The devs already confirmed to me that something like this would work, but for a variety of reasons they don't want to do it.
  6. Retire prestige. It's original purpose, keeping people from having a massive base on day 1 of Issue 6, has been satisfied. Now it's just a legacy mechanic, that keeps people who want to express some creativity from doing so without engaging the mechanic.

If you go in with the bias that you're "forced" to do anything, it's going to affect how you feel about the behavior and how you engage in it. You already come in feeling anxious and angry, it's no doubt you don't feel very interested in social behavior.

I go to pocket D and say 'Blaster lf BAF' and wait for an invite. I'm surrounded by strangers, and my mood is tbh impatient and grumpy. I want to get it over with, so all i'm doing is scanning the broadcast for 'BAF forming pst' and the like. I'm certainly not there to chat or make friends.
Now before anyone says, I was assuming anything above, the poster confirms it right here.

How do you know? I'll have you know I often chat with people during the trial, after, and often wait around to see if something else is going on unless I need a break or have somewhere to be.

You emphasized the wrong word here. It is your experience. Not everyone else.

Somehow the devs, after having something heavy hit all of them in their heads, implement this.

Within the hour, we start getting "I turned down/off my Energy Blast/Assault's Knockback, and now I'm nothing but a subpar-damage blaster/defender/etc! Buff us!"

I'll agree with "You can now recolor your powers. If you don't like knockback, reroll."
I'll be happy to instruct them on all the reasons their set is more powerful without the knockback, never you worry.

Not exactly baseless as Prometheus basically tells us that we need to defeat Cole then we'll get to handle the Coming Storm. Whether that basis is sufficient proof for you I cannot say, but it's incorrect to say it's baseless.

Sam is right, since Incarnates came on to the scene in Issue 19 we've hardly gotten anything else, I mean seriously, all we've gotten is:

Issue 19 - Inherent Stamina, New solo story arcs in Sharkhead and Talos, repeatable missions for Resistance and Loyalists in Praetoria, Zone Event Missions in Praetoria, Alternate Blast animations for most blast sets, New Warehouse and Praetorian lab maps, Inspiration stores (Nurses) in hospitals, and hospitals in Hazard and Trial zones, Transit Merge, Tons of QoL improvements

Issue 20 - Player Help System, Admiral Sutter TF, Mortimer Kal SF, improvements to buff powers, Null the Gull

    Wait.....

Sure, but please understand where that leads. We already have that to a degree where if you exemplar below 45 you lose your incarnate abilities. This gives the developers breathing room to make content for all playstyles. Also, the Incarnate shifts are specifically gated to the trials.

The devs have taken the wise view to allow people who have went down the Incarnate path be overpowered in non-Incarnate content. If you take away the abilities, then folks will demand that ALL content be scaled to the power level of incarnates. Which creates, in fact, the very treadmill that people are imposing on themselves now.

Right now you really don't have to do the Incarnate trials. Incarnate power is fun, but certainly not necessary. I've seen what happens when the point you make is taken to its logical conclusion. I suspect many others here have as well, because many have expressed fears that the Incarnate powers would be necessary to "keep up" with new content. I have seen no significant evidence that the devs intend for that to happen. But it will happen should Incarnate powers be locked away as you suggest. Only it will be the players demanding it.

Shards components work only for the Alpha slot, so I don't think it's a fair exchange rate to consider then 5 threads. It is true that it takes 60 threads to make a common Alpha and 12 shards, but IMO, that's covered by threads greater drop rate. Threads are more flexible and allow you to imbue an incarnate with higher tiers of power. Shards must be converted on a time-gate to even be worth any threads.

Basically, what I'm saying is that threads do more and thus are worth more than shards and so the conversion rate we have now is more than fair.

The reason for this is that you make comparisons to Dominators and their revamp, even though they did not have a flawed premise. After their revamp, they still function as they did: their initial premise or design is intact. They mez for their primary and do damage for their secondary, and their inherent works the same way... the main change was where their damage came from: rather than domination, that damage is baked into their powers.
That's a much more significant change than you seem to acknowledge. That one change removed this Jekyll and Hyde feeling to the AT and turned it into a mainline DPS AT that can intermittently exercise extremely strong controls.

    Quote:
I would agree that Kheldians need some adjusting, but I can't follow you with the "flawed premise" statement. Most suggestions I have seen that would work would at most require changes similar to the Dominator revamp, or significantly less (and I would say Peacebringers need more adjusting than Warshades). The basic idea of the AT as a shapeshifter, jack of all trades, is a fun and good one that I rather like. It needs more adjusting to get it to sit right in the CoX environment, but it's not flawed overall.
Like many arguments on these boards, we get hung up on this "fun" versus "effective" argument. The shapeshifting mechanic might be "fun" but it provides little real tactical advantage in the game as its actually played. There are other combinations in this game that can be a better blaster, tank, and jack of all trades all without needing to waste seconds converting from one form to the next and all at the same time I might add.

The Kheldian human forms are purposefully limited (no mez protection for example) in order to make the form shifting desirable enough for people to use. It's Castle trying to salvage Geko's poor design. Whereas Castle's creation VEATs have a synergy among their powers that is wonderous to behold. For example, on a lark I decided to make a ranged only Bane Spider. That seemed to be the crappiest VEAT combo by a mile. How did it turn out? WHOA! It's really good. It feels like the Nova form should. A heavily defended ranged gunner who can spam AoEs. I was just going to take that character to the 30s and then respec, but I think I'm going to stick with it. I'm always finding interesting things like that with VEATs. It's the mark of a very well designed AT that there are so many things you can do and still feel you have a valuable character.

With Warshades, you do get to a point where your character is solid and fun. But with PB, you just never come out with a character that's ever going to shine. It needs fundamental changes. If shapeshifting is the name of the game, then we need to make that conversion something that plays well with the game.

After Timeshadow's thread, I've really given up on Kheldians for awhile. The community is just too split about what needs to be done. Some folks want a major change and others want small tweaks. I don't see the devs moving too much while that rift exists.

    Two things:

    Electric Scrappers do not hide;

Electric Stalkers manipulate electromagnetic radiation for a variety of effects including protection, but also to hide themselves. Electromagnetic radiation exists in both the visible spectrum, that is, the wavelengths of energy visible to humans and other forms not visible to the naked eye. The Electric Stalker can cover their whole body in a form of electromagnetic energy that is invisible to the human eye. This allows them to hide in plain sight. Creatures (including super-humans) who have senses that grant them PERCEPTION greater than normal humans can sometimes see through the Electric Stalker's clever ruse.

Also, for shields you can just take the damn Taunt aura away and it'll be fine.
