Quote:I'm not sure what this has to do with my statement, but I will say this of yours, there are some builds that can't even complete the Incarnate Alpha slot arc while solo, they chose to go the team route. Same rewards, less effort. It's been pointed out before: Team tasks by their very nature takes more effort (to organize etc.) than solo tasks do. So therefore even if people prefer to do teams, if you can do a task just as easily (same rewards) solo they're going to do it solo because the net effect is that it is an easier task.
With that being said, it's just a fact that some builds or even some players just aren't good in these trials, not to mention there are some anti-social types (yes even in a MMORGP). In light of that I think it's always important to have options other than the trials. And like I said before I'm just glad it's on it's way. -
Quote:Maybe, but correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Incarnate system Positron's project and they have other devs working on other things?People are still going to farm the AE after I21 - perhaps the devs should take a look at the new low level content?
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the work that was put into the system thus far but IMO good content is good content and players will run it. Now I in no way think solo rewards should be on par with team based rewards, but even if they were close, if the team content is fun and engaging I believe players will choose that over the solo content.
As far as rewards for solo Incarnate content, I'm just glad we're getting solo content. Now my scrappers can get some Incarnate love. -
Quote:If both solo and trial paths yield the same rewards and you're afraid players would choose not to run trials, then maybe there is something that needs to be addressed with the trials? Also note: Solo Path does not equal "at the same rate as those who do Trials". Those players will ALWAYS advance through the system faster. Otherwise the Trails will shrivel up and die, and those people who (gasp) like them will never get a chance to run them.
Not for nothing, but maybe you guys need to design better trials for the last 5 Incarnate slots? And by better I mean less lag, clearer objectives, maybe involve non tank melee types a bit more? Now I can only speak for myself, but when running trials I see a huge success/time difference when playing on an always in demand buff/debuffer as opposed to any of my scrappers. -
Quote:I plan on taking Cardiac mainly for the endurance reduction but does the very rare power help increase the damage resistance of the build by much considering ED? I'm running about 45% to S/L and Energy at level 45 but was hoping by 50 to get that a lot higher.I think you're mixing up powers. Cloak of Darkness is a stealth/immob. protection power with some defense. No aspect of this power is affected by Quills.
With out an IO build, Spines/DA will have a very difficult time running Cloak of Fear. I do run Cloak of Fear on my Spines/DA scrapper, but I have a hefty IO build and Cardiac Alpha to manage it. Prior to purchasing IO sets, I would say do not use CoF on a Spines/DA build. -
Luckily the Yankees game is still on and I'll get to catch up on Torchwood. I'll check back in a couple of hours.

Quote:If they were to release the issue with the current bug that Mac users are experiencing I'd do the same thing I did when Netflix decided to screw its customer base... stop giving them money. There is no way I'd maintain a paid account that I couldn't access what I rightfully paid for.Honestly, nothing currently on Beta, bugs or whatnot, seem any different than EVERY OTHER RELEASE since Day 1 launch. If you expect no issues for a release, I got a bridge to sell you.
As long as the game loads and doesn't cause any spontaneous hardware fires, it'll be released as-is and fixed along the way. But with the quote I had earlier regarding "end of the year", there is no telling what time frame they are actually shooting for. Late 3rd quarter = end of the year. Mid or early 3rd quarter doesn't.
The fix for the Mac issue hasn't even been pushed to the Beta server yet and will require an entire new build when it goes out plus a full install. I wouldn't doubt if something else breaks as a result. -
I wonder if these newly built shiny condos that have been going up in the blink of an eye can withstand shocks centered closer to the city? And we get tornadoes now too. I'm so glad I don't live in one of those glass buildings!

Quote:Yup I'm in Brooklyn, I thought someone was messing with my desk shaking it. There should be some aftershocks so I'm staying out of the subway for this afternoon.Anyone else just feel the quake that hit the east coast? Epicenter was in VA, something around 5.8. Felt it up here in NYC.
I know this is standard fare for you West Coast folks, but very unusual here.
BTW, hope everyone is okay nearer to the epicenter down south. -
Finding glowies are annoying to me because I tend to play with no sound. On glowie missions I have to either get my headphones or jack my sound way up and hope I hear it over my power animations and other background noise.
Even though it is not consistent, I do like the map location icon when you have one objective left to find. -
Scrappers are awesome if you want to solo, although I don't have any high level Brutes (I hate the Villain and Praetoria zones) judging from the comments they are a blast to solo also.
I'm not sure what your play style is but I'll use myself as an example. I have a problem paying attention to things so when I play a scrapper I need a "set it and forget it" type of build so I go defense in SR. Some players like Shield better but I could never come up with a good concept to roll one, plus I like Quickness in SR.
The damage resistance sets and regen require too much hands on for my tastes. -
Although I couldn't take full advantage of it during the week, it was fun while it lasted. I mean who doesn't like to level fast? If someone doesn't like it they can always turn XP off, but for me I love 2XP, it accelerates my altitis!
-
Launch date of the 30th? I hope not, not with 11 days until the 30th and there is still no resolution on beta for Mac users. I know they are testing internally but it needs to be on beta for through testing IMO. I doubt NCSoft wants to be grouped with Netflix.

Same here. But I look at it this way, low level procs may increase in price due to demand so I'll hold onto the "less expensive" global procs like Regen tissue for now just in case the price rises. I think I'll hold onto all those Kismet accuracy recipes that I usually just delete.

Because 2XP fell on the weekend my GF returned from being away for a week, my time in game was limited to spurts of 30 minutes to an hour at a time. I couldn't really commit to any TFs because GF aggro is the worst, only seconded by wife aggro. I did manage to get from 38-42 on the Spines/DA scrapper I've been working on for years. I didn't get a chance to work on my Fire/TA corrupter that I was supposed to level up a long time ago to join The Sacred Brotherhood.
Quote:I will forever be envious of your leveling skills Masque!I started a PB got him to 30 and deleted him (that took about an hour of time).
Quote:Other then that watched a bunch of episodes of:
Hardcore pawn
Tosh.0
True Blood
Rivals
and saw that A-team movie on tv (horrible).
I was then coerced into watching:
Jerseylicious
Big Brother
Next Design Star
Bridezillas
As well as some other shows that I put out of my mind. -

Wow -Def, -Res and Fire damage! That's awesome!

My Two suggestions
If you go Dark/Ice you can get 3 single target holds (more if you use Devastation proc) along with Tar Patch.
If you go Cold/Ice you get Heat Loss, Sleet and Benumb. The combination for your partner with Force Field drone and your ice shields will be awesome. -
Correct they do not stack, I think most players put it in multi target attacks. I for one have it in all my Katana attacks but that was due to concept not functionality.
-
Yes what Doc said.
Seeker Drones is an invaluable power, I know I couldn't do without it and am going to try and slot it with as many procs as I can when I get around to doing a second build on him.
As far as making the shield invisible, I can't recall it ever getting much aggro. usually the badguys are too busy trying to kill the acid mortar or running away to attack it. Then you have the drones and Poison Trap they have to contend with, so I'd say if at all possible don't bother with Grant Invisibility.
I put my Traps/Sonic defender up for awhile but took him out on a BAF last night. Just remember you'll do a lot better with as much recharge as you can get.
Also put a Lockdown proc in Poison trap, better yet the whole set if you can for the bonuses. -
IMO Electric also lacks punch. Also the endurance drain is not worth it for the set IMO (For PvE). Although I do like Voltaic Sentinel because it adds a considerable amount of damage when compared to the other powers and it can not be targeted or killed, but it's duration is way too short for my tastes. Although I have to say I love Ball Lightning with the endurance drain stun proc slotted.
I like Rad blast because of the -def of the powers which allows slotting for 3 (Damage, Defense Debuff, Accurate Defense Debuff) and sometimes a 4th enhancement category (Disorient, Snipe, Knockback). It gives a much better variety when building.
With that said I wouldn't worry too much about either sets "lack of punch" because you will have both Siphon Power and Fulcrum shift. -
