I was never a part of the HDS/Hami raids (only went to one and was extremely bored) but have so many memories that were really fun Too many to list but a few are as follows:

1.) The 'old FS' on my Kin/Rad...getting rows and rows of FS icons...mmmmm....and of course the ol' suction sound of FS; now is gone heh.

2.) Of course all meeting/teaming with all sorts of great people (mainly from the LEGION but also MDK/Sisterhood, etc...)

3.) When Negative Ion was still around/playing everyone thought I was Negative Ion. I never really met/talked/teamed with Negative Ion (I don't think I have at least ) but was funny to have people /t me saying "Hi Ion!" And we start talking back and forth and then the person would be like, "this is Negative Ion right?" and I say, "no...Energizing Ion!"

4.) Seeing some of the new tilesets in missions during the LEGION's alt nights...like Dr. Vahz's new layout, the Synapse TF, etc...

And more that I can't type at the moment...

Edit: One more quick one that I got reminded of while looking at Golden Ace's pic/name/post. I remember doing a Synapse TF with my friend (only the 2 of us) hoping that we could defeat the final AV at the end. Got to him but we couldn't do it. So the next time we played we invited a random person (turns out to be Golden Ace's tanker) and we got to the AV and something happened (I got hit a lot by the AV or something) and I was all like, "RUN!" and kept hitting the F6 key to run...but then noticed that Golden Ace's tanker was still alive and wayling on the Clockwork King....and I was like, "oh nm..." and we won
Still have the pictures of me saying "Run!" and then pictures of GA's tanker beating on the CK.

Could you throw me an invite to that channel Tax E Girl please? My global is @Energizing Ion (never remember if there is a space or a _ between "Energizing" and "Ion" but I think it's a space.

Well to be honest this is a problem (somewhat). When my friend first started to play this game on a regular basis (a month or so after CoH was released) we were lvl'ing fine and, me being the forum person/trying to know 'everything', went to get Stamina and was doing fine. My friend on the other hand, who "just wants to play/have fun" never picked up the Fitness line. Then he'd complain about having to wait for endurance or what have you. I'd always suggest that he should get Stamina but he'd always say something along the lines of what the OP has in her log/post, "but then I'd have to waste 2 power slots to get Stamina...it's not worth it."

And to be honest, I agree. Granted now Swift, Hurdle and Health all have their places and even one, Health, is nice to have because of the proc IOs you can put in it but in general...eh yeah...they are "boring" to get. To me (and to my friend), leveling up and getting new/cool powers is fun to us. Leveling up, going to the trainer at, say lvl 16, and be like, "well gee I could get a cool primary/secondary power (or power pool) but if I actually want to survive/not wait on my endurance I have to start picking up the Fitness power pool line now...then at 18 and finally get Stamina at 20."

Yes Stamina may not be as needed as it had been before IOs/procs/etc but...I usually still get it on all my chars (unless there is a specific reason not to).

I'd really like to see the Fitness line get opened up/given to us automatically. Like at lvl 12 you get Swift or Hurdle, then at 16 you get Hurdle or Health next then at 20 you get Stamina.

Heck I'd be fine with getting them all one at a time and you wouldn't get Stamina until, let's say, lvl 26. As long as it frees up some power slots...I might get more fun/cooler powers instead of "Swift"...hooray... :P

I am currently at 702 or 703 badges so yeah I'll be kicked out. I do not think the badges should be able to be bought like the "Payoff" badge is. I mean if all 89 badges (or even a good portion of them) are able to be bought that'd still get in the 'gray area' of 'needing to farm' to get them. If all badges cost like the Payoff one (1k tickets), that's, roughly, 89k tickets you'd need to get all 89 badges. Yes you wouldn't have to get all 89, but again if badges are there, people will want 'em (like I would).

Now if they were priced for like 1 ticket each, okay but...don't see that happening.

I did like some of the badges names as well though.

Yes I too will say thanks to Mids' program I as well have been using Mids for a while now and when I'm bored or thinking of a new character to do, I launch Mids and plan out the build. It's really fun to see/think how "uber" the character can/will be....

To be honest it's 'more fun' for me to do a new character in Mids than it is to do in the actual game....in the actual game I don't get all the nice purple-y IOs (or set IOs in general) :P Plus I can go all the way to lvl 50 in a matter of a minute!

I agree that the new ranged attacks are annoying and doesn't stop 'farming' from what I've seen/heard. It does however hurt regular missions.

I was doing an arc with sg-mates/friends and got to the last mission and the custom mobs were all Mace powerset (with invuln for armor? don't remember) but their throwing knives were doing about 400-500 damage to me as a lvl 50 Defender. 400 or so damage on the initial damage but then a few ticks of 40 I think. Yeah that hurts....

Please reduce the damage and make it 'normal' devs.

Well at first when I was making the list, I started with what page I was on: 16, then went to 15 then went to 1...then I was like, "I'm not doing anything at work, might as well write all of the info down and post for everyone to use."

Okay so I updated my video drivers today for a diff. game. My past drivers were dated 9/8/2007, driver version 8.421.0.0 for my Radeon X800 XT card.

The drivers are now dated 2/25/2009, version: 8.591.0.0. I logged into CoH tonight and noticed this was what my screen looked like: click here to see

While I look to downgrade my drivers, any thoughts as to how to solve the issue (sorry if it's been mentioned before, but not sure what the issue would be/would be called.

Edit: I went ahead and downgraded myself. Went to omega drivers' site and now have the driver date of 12/4/2007, version 8.442.0.0

Again he wouldn't care one way or another about purples (unless he heard from x person that you "have to have" purple IOs and that you're useless without them. He was very 'naive' in believing that sort of statement (about games at least).


Note: This is the type of person that read the back of a game box with those "Best game ever!" type of ads and he'd come back in the next day and say to us (co-workers/fellow gamers) almost word-for-word "this is the best game ever"...then 2 weeks later he hated it/didn't like it

Now someone like me who is "casual" in some ways would love to have all purples/set IOs for all of my characters; however, I only use regular IOs because I don't have the time and/or money to worry about all that. I did one of my characters (fire/fire scrapper) all IO'ed up as best I could (a few purples here and there but mainly all set IOs)....that cost me a good $160 or so mil (maybe 200 mil) which 'bankrupted' my main (EI)....but EI is now back to around 150 mil influence.

Anyways not sure where I'm going with this but... :P

I just happened to click this topic just cause I wanted to see what it was about. Congrats to you and I know that you weren't aiming this at me but wanted to throw some 'kinks' into what you are supposing.

The hard part is defining a "casual player". For some of my sg mates I'm a "casual player" because I don't have x amount of 50s or have all purple IO sets, etc...but for most of my real life friends I'm a "hardcore" player because I have played a game for 5+ years and play about 20 hours a week (maybe less now).

I know that when this game first came out, at my previous job my boss played this game for maybe a month or two. Now I think of him as a "casual player" because he was married/had kids/etc. He played MAYBE 2 hours a week...for a total of around 8 or so hours a month (unless he "really" liked the game then he played a good 10 hours a week then get burned out really fast).

Now for someone like him, he would never know to sell the different DOs/SOs to the correct trainer, probably would never mess with the market and would definitely not know that if you respec you get full value of the DOs/SOs back.

I know when the game was still 'new'...I never knew about the different selling prices to the different stores for DOs/SOs. I think I learned of that (from the boards) about 4-6 months into the game (maybe sooner *shrugs*).

Anyways....just a thought

My first one that I made "The Great Debate" needs some work overall (now that /ninjitsu doesn't have the extra damage bug I can switch my ninjas in it to /nin instead of /sr)...but you can still play it I like the 2nd one (Birth of Punk Rolex) I did the most...short and sweet (made up all the bios/infos for hostages)

Side switching sounds good....but I'm curious about badges...

If, let's say, I get my main badger (EI lvl 50 Kin/Rad Defender) to switch sides for the badge for switching; Is there a badge for switching back and forth (guessing/hoping not)?

Also, if I side switch from heroes to the villain side with EI, would I lose all/any of the "hero only" badges; will he be able to gain any of the "villain only" badges? If I am able to get "villain only" badges after the switch and if we are able to switch back to heroes again, will I lose those "villain only" badges (and if we lost the "hero only" badges when we swapped to the villain side, do we get the "hero only" badges back after we switch back to the heroic side?)?
