  1. I've never been to the page before (that I remember at least)....as far as contacts for the LEGION...I guess you can put me down along with Arclight....Arclight is back but...figured 2 contacts might be better than 1

    I have chars spread across pretty much every server...this is back when CoH first launched and my friend and I were just making random toons on diff. servers for whatever reason. I then read about the East/West coast servers and so I was like, "friend, we should be an east coast server...possibly more people in our time zone..." he said, "ok." Then we looked at the list and just chose Liberty as our 'home' server.
  3. Nice write-up and like others have said, I applaud the write up.

    I do not PvP...the last time I PvP'ed was...mmm....a year or two ago (don't remember, definitely before i13).


    The thing for me why I didn't PvP was because I hated "having" to have the right build/powersets with all the right HOs/IOs/whatever. I didn't have billions in influence like some of my friends who were into PvP very heavily...I couldn't just pl a new char to 50 in 2 days and have 'em slotted up the next day or two. And then when a new FoTM came out, had to get that one up to 50 and slotted. Yes I know you don't have to have the right builds but if you were 'serious' about pvp, you had to have SS+SJ (or CJ/Hurdle) and other powers that I usually wouldn't get.

    I never liked the run and gun/kiting aspect of PvP...I "love" the monkey cage map (when fighting in the Arena)...no running around...just fighting.

    I've said this before but when i13 was released with the ability for dual builds (that's when it was released right?)...I think the devs shouldn't have made the changes they did in i13. With the option of more than 1 build per toon, you could have your "pve" build and your "pvp" build on the same toon. If they would have left pvp like it was before i13 and just added on more builds (have maybe like 4 builds total per toon, 1 solo pve, 1 team pve, 1 solo pvp and 1 team pvp...or what have ya) I would have possibly done more PvP.

    *shrugs* I'm on the Liberty server so usually no one is on anyways; which is good because that way I can get my Shivans and nukes without worrying about people killing me :P

    Edit: Oh and going off of what McNum said...I'd definitely do more PvP if there was an objective to it. RV was a 'nice try' but...okay so what if the heroes (or villains win)? Doesn't mean anything to me. I always liked playing games like Team Fortress or Quake (Weapons Factory Arena fan here!)....capture the flag, or something like that would make pvp better/more fun for me at least. And the reward should be free respecs, costume tokens, costume slots, temp powers that give you (all your team/side) double xp for x amount of hours...something...

    Heh....I think it's a bit too late for wide-sweeping changes like what I proposed. I was saying what I said if I was making CoH from the start not changing everything now.

    Right now like the one poster said above...if you have good controllers (people who know how to play them and have the right/good combinations of powersets) there is almost 0 reason to have a Defender on the team. Multiple controllers can hold the whole mobs/extra aggro and buff/debuff to boot. Defenders can do damage after their buffs/debuffs....and not very high damage (yes I know some powers/builds can do decent dmg but if you want damage (hero side) you get a Blaster or Scrapper (heck some Controller builds do decent damage)).

    I think what they did with the villains (AT wise) is about right. You have the Brute which is your 'tank/scrapper' (yes I know maybe it wasn't designed to be the 'tanker' class but....), stalker for burst damage (I was surprised I liked playing my MA/EA stalker), Dominators are control and decent damage (depending on secondary), MMs are...well, they're "easy mode" and Corruptors are damage with some buffs/debuffs. I just think that at the beginning that Controllers should not have had the same powersets as secondaries as what Defenders got as primaries.

    Tbh, I'd really like to see a more free-form power selection and do away with the 'trinity' of tank, damage-dealer, healer/support.

    Do you have "Special" marked (on) in the map options? Those are how you see the banners on the map. If that is on and you still don't see 'em, are the banners still up or have they been defeated already?

    As far as lag, I had lag last night in Grandville (Liberty server here)...no event was going on in Grandville but it was a real lag fast (getting the 'lost connection to mapserver' message but never actually logging off). It wasn't just me but others in GV were experiencing the same thing.

    The only lag I've had during the events (this was hero-side) was when I was with the other people taking down the baddies/banners/GM. Just the typical lag when there are more than 20 people in the same area. I've been to two hero-side deadly apocalypses and never logged out/had any horrible lag (nor did I see any chatter in broadcast about any logging out/bad lag). Not to say that it doesn't happen but *shrugs*.

    As far as getting credit/badges from the banners/GM, I think the "GM code for badges" applies...your team has to do 10% of the total HP to the banner/GM to get the badge. I know that when I was on a full team in PI doing the DA event I got 3 badges (red, purple and GM badges) but not the green or blue banner badges because my team didn't do enough damage to the banners. During the DA event in FF our team did enough damage to the green and blue badges to get those 2 badges (and then I got the Accolade badge for getting all 5 of the badges).

    1.) Lots of toons, from Masterminds to Defenders to Blasters...every AT I have played and enjoyed...except PeaceBringers (my PB is lvl 41 atm)

    2.) I play my toons if there is a need but usually once they hit 50 I'm "done" with them because I'm leveling up another toon.

    3.) I still like playing my main hero (Energizing Ion) a Kinetics/Rad. Blast Defender. I also like Brutes just because I like rushing in and smashing things. MMs are fun because they are "easy mode" in the game (once you hit certain levels depending on builds).

    I think that Vigiliance should include a recharge rate increase along with the endurance reduction/recovery boost. Like others have said, it doesn't matter if I have 100 endurance if my powers are recharging.

    It'd also be nice to have some sort of mez resistance....but not sure how'd you implement it. I'd like to see the inherent be useful to yourself when you're solo'ing as well but...*shrugs*

    As far as Defenders being not a 'well thought out' AT...I'd agree but disagree as well.

    I think Controllers should not have the same secondaries as the Defender's primaries. I'm glad that Controllers don't have Dark Miasma...I think Controllers should have (for secondaries) more control...like a mix of Blaster and Dominator secondaries. I remember when TA was on test and it was great for a Defender....then the devs "nerfed" TA because as a secondary on a Controller...it was too powerful.

    Controllers should control, leave buffing/debuffing to Defenders. Now that doesn't mean that Controllers couldn't have some small debuffs/buffs in their secondaries but...I would leave a good 90% of buffs/debuffs (number wise too) to the Defenders.
  13. Side issue/topic...

    The mission you get from Black Scorpion to blow up the Nemesis Mole Machines is a great mission (artwork/map layout wise); however, now that the XP has been removed (reduced drastically? forgot which) from the Mole Machines...can the devs please reduce the HP (and/or regen rate) of the Mole Machines? Standing around and hitting attacks one after the other for 5-10 mins per machine is really, really annoying and tedious....makes me sleepy :/
  14. Just quick reply...I've only read the first page of posts but...

    I have a lvl 50 Warshade (human form only...granted he does have the dwarf/tank form but....usually don't use it). My WS was fun and even better in teams...I loved being on a team with a Kin or FF or some type of buffer so that we got nice team spawn sizes, get Eclipse off, kill one mob then Unchain Essence and KABOOM! Quite a few mobs are down. So much fun. It's great having a nuke without the -end recovery of the nuke. I only have common IOs in him so there is nothing perma about him unfortunately. I would like to change that but...still getting other characters up to 50.

    Now that brings me to my lvl 40 PB. Wow...what a difference. In teams he's not really fun at all (tbh, haven't really solo'ed him that much). All the KB is annoying (usually on teams I run with don't need the KB for 'damage mitigation'). Only having 2 ranged attacks and then 3 melee attacks (don't use the PBAoE attack that much though). Again human only, but he does have the Dwarf form and uses it more than my WS ever did. Again, to be honest, I'd love for this toon to get on a 'farm team' and just get pl'ed to 50...or something...just isn't that much fun yet. *shrugs*

    And no, I don't like the Nova form...don't like the look of the squid...

    Yep...Zorn and crew are gone before or at the very least at/during the bye in 2 weeks. Which is sad but...*shrugs*

    My friend and I noticed this weirdness/bug tonight. When I invited him to a team, he accepted but to him my name was missing (no 'status' of what zone I was in either), and to me his name was missing in the team window (no 'status' of what zone he was in as well). This seems to have just started/came from this last patch?

    I /bug'ed it but...thought I would post it here too.
  18. What others have said applies to me for the most part.

    Once the char. hits lvl 50, I'm "done" with them and move on to new characters with new(er) powersets. Even after 5+ years I haven't done all the powersets/combinations in this game.

    I only have 2 non-lvl 50 characters and once they get to lvl 50...(one is a lvl 40 PB, and the other a Fire/Earth Assault Dom. that is lvl 39); well I will have to wait for GR or the next issue because I don't really feel like creating another character.

    I still have some 50s/toons that have SOs in their builds...would like to get all my toons to have at least common IOs in 'em and also to work on their 2nd build (have one for a more 'solo' build and then one with a more 'team' build) which also means to common IO out those 2ndary builds.

    I do pull out 50s when it's needed though (like if my SG/friends are trying to hit 50 and we are doing a 50s team, or if a certain AT/toon is needed for an SF/TF).

    I also have 2 "badgers" (really only 1)...my Kin/Rad defender (my "main") for hero side and then my "main" toon for villains is my Ninja/DM MM; he's my "badger" on that side (not really chasing them though...just cause it's a pain...and got exhausted farming badges on my hero...granted it's not so bad now with the new reduced numbers but still).

  20. Well I only had time for one event (in Galaxy City). It went well and we did it with 12 people or so in the zone. I really appreciate/like the new timer/location after all banners are down...it at least gives you a general sense how far away you are from the Greater Aspect GM.

    I'm really, really hoping for a LOT of new artwork/mission tilesets/maps (as well as some sort of randomizer for old(er) content too).

    When CoH first came out and my friend was playing with me, we got to about lvl 10 or so before he was like, "this is boring, we're just doing the same missions in the same maps."

    And it hasn't really changed much since then :/

    There are great maps out there (love the one with the CoT AV burning/breaking down the tech lab one from Tavish Bell in CoV) but just needs to be more and more and have them trickle down into the old(er) content (even newspaper/radio too please).
  23. 1. Lots (and LOTS) of new mission tilesets/maps/artwork

    2a. SGs that add/use global names instead of char/toon names...that way you can have 75 global names/accounts in an SG and not have to worry about everyone's 5th alt getting to join the SG

    2b. Along the same lines, if I'm in a SG with my global name/account, and I make a new toon, it should automatically have my new toon in the SG...again, that way I don't have to wait for someone to invite me to the SG.
    2c. If that's not possible, then have the ability to invite yourself to the SG (without the toon being online).

    3. More free character slots

    4. More powersets

    5. A power like the Ouro portal that has the ability to go to all zones that you are able to get to (with the same time recharge (5 mins))...or just make Ouro portals allow access to all zones....

    6. A WW/BM merchant/computer item that you can put in your SG's base

    7. Trainer & difficulty changing NPCs that you can place in your SG's base

    8. A power (that everyone gets for free) that shows you where the last hostage/glowie is (as well as the last mob in the defeat all missions) that recharges in 60 seconds

    9. The ability to send yourself (or a toon) IOs, recipes, enhancements, salvage and/or the ability to store them in an SG bin of some sort so that you can get to it without having to wait for people to transfer back and forth

    10. More costume pieces

    12. Having the devs go back in all of the old CoH content and having all of the contacts give their phone number out after the 1st completed mission (or at least after the 2nd or 3rd mission)....even TF/Trial contacts.
