Tell ya what sling me on ignore will ya, can't deal with people like you.
Wait... So, you make that previous post, and I reply to it with a joke... And you're somehow upset? When you, yourself, contained humor in your derisive commentary towards CoH... You can't accept a silly little two sentence reply. Crazy!

I am completely sympathetic to the problems with the EU CoH and all the players.
If you really think all of that should have been included in their little promotional video...

What you suggested in this thread was ridiculous and I countered it with humor.
If you'd like me to counter it further in a serious manner to reduce your stance even further, you'll have to pick a number and wait in line.

    I'm kidding, ya know?
If you go and post a bunch of negatively slanted complaints and suggest that these truly should have been included in a short video promo, then you should work on World Of Warcraft's Marketing Team! [They could use a few less customers]
So, yes, hopefully in the next part of these series of videos, the developers will explain further about the plight of the European player and their general lack of boxes, manuals, CDs and television stations.
I'm hoping for some information on how poorly the office workers recycle paper products and whatever negative press they can muster to include in this series of videos.

Personally, I commend the EU CoH for not having boxes. That version of the game, while shorter on population, is vastly superior in their environmental concerns... Or, much GREENER.
Embrace your community's greenhood and be happy you have no (As some like to call it) box-temptation!
Lay down your need for material goods and welcome the digital age!
One of these days, the North American version may rise out of the dark ages and join you in the rejoice for lack of boxes.

    However...
    For now...
Let's include your entire message into their promo video, like you have suggested!
We'll get one of those commercial narrators to say it all as speedily as possible at the end of the video!

    Quote:
...If your from the EU don't expect to beable to buy this product in a shop, you will only beable to get download.

Make sure you have Acrobat reader installed on your comp to read manual.

Have a blank dvd disc available so you can make your own disk.

If possible please use a keloggs cornflake box to hold all print outs and disc, reports have
come in that Frosties boxes are just not holding weight enough.

Have your daughter come up with a an official disc label for dvd.

Make sure with your ISP that you haven't got any limatations to how much you can download per month.

...and if your from the EU be prepared to be poo'd on from a great height.
They may have to receive Kellogs' permission to be named in this video, but I'm sure acquiring that won't delay its release too long!

Thank you for your most serious and constructive feedback, Slazenger! We'll get back to you!

Still, I could be wrong. It just doesn't sound, at all, like Castle (Or any of the Devs) to make any declaration of when a new fix would hit live.

    1. Go to your user page, then click on the User Contributions link on the left menu.
    2. Change the namespace in the drop down to Image and it'll list any actions you completed under the image namespace.

To mark a image for deletion then go to the image, edit it and add [[Categoryeletion_Request]].
Hmmm... some suggestions on how to make your images that small of a file, while retaining quality, might be helpful.

I, myself, tend to use Photoshop 7 and Image Ready. With Image Ready, I "save as optimized" to make a smaller file size.

That being said... Most of my images are likely over 50kb.

    And thanks for the message!

  9. Ahhhh, yes indeed Wonderfully stated!

    However, let me paraphrase...

(Just saw a Frasier episode where he says that to Niles, hehe )

There are SOOOOO many examples of changes made to the game that were a direct result of player feedback, they should stick to those.

I think "capes" makes a nice bullet point/sound bite, and that's why they used it as an example.
Just quickly, for the record... I agree with what you said here and in your previous post and completely understood what you meant.
Not a knock on their listening at all. Just a caveat about the capes thing and listing it like that.
I don't mind it and it does sound good for the people who don't really know.

Then again... to make someone think that they never planned for capes on their own... would possibly make them sound a bit silly in the head.
A Super Hero game without capes??

Hehe, anyway, I noticed that and had the same progression of thoughts when watching the video as well
  11. Hehe... While I've opened up the doors for me to post about this subject, I have one other thing to mention...

The power itself is about reading someone's fortune.
The prompt was sort of a, "Would you like me to read your fortune?" in a big grand, throwing magic cards that fly around you, sort of manner.

It made thematic sense for a prompt.
It's something you needed permission and compliance to perform.

That, along with all of the game differences (lasts 20 minutes, doesn't go away upon defeat, cast by any AT, blah blah blah) made the prompt seem very reasonable to me... and, apparently, to the Game Designers.

Quite frankly, we don't have to convince any players of anything.

I just find it sad how much people are unwilling to find some understanding and reach compromise.
It is a shame that the Developers seemingly can never do well enough. They have to hit everything 100% on the money, because, clearly, compromises and middle grounds are unacceptable for too many players.
No reason to be surprised though... it is very typical of humanity, hehe.

For every attack put on people who don't like the visuals or sounds or even the buffs... The same could be directed towards those so unhappy with the popup window. I love some people's reactions about how unreasonable someone who doesn't like the visual or audio is... But the same critic will point out how much the popup is unbearable.

It's funny how people haven't gone and attacked the popup "whiners" in the same manner.

    Maybe that says something.

It's just lame and somewhat disgusting how people talk down to others.

How about having a little respect for differing opinions and recognize that until the developers spend the time and resources on working out an auto accept/decline feature for this power... The prompt is the compromise.

Some people do not want the power. Some people do. The prompt allows both to have what they want.
Some people have an issue with the prompt. Understand why it is there and... don't take it out on the people who don't want the power. Kindly suggest and ask for a way to create an auto accept and be understanding of differing opinions, playstyles and preferences, eh? Sheesh...

  13. Might this also be a particular server issue?

I was on Virtue yesterday, and WentWorths was refusing to accept any salvage and giving me tons of problems trying to sell certain items that were already stored.
Everyone else was having the same issues and it seemed that something screwy was indeed going on.

This was obviously something new and more problematic than just a problem with the UI.

So, maybe we should try and list the servers of both people having problems and people not having these problems.

Actually (and literally) no, it doesn't.
We have tons of evidence that they do indeed listen. Whether or not they agree or take action on such things to a degree enough that satisfies an individual may be debatable.

We're listening to you, Alpha_Zulu... but it doesn't mean we agree with you.

Anyways, you had one thing right in your previous post.

    "False statement is false."
That applies to statements of your own.

Only once... However, that lie turned out to be that they were not truly a space penguin... So... The answer is actually No!! Huh...
  20. All I want to say is that I hope, one day, all of the servers will be on the same list.
I'd like to see the servers and game version globalized.

I (Accidentally/Coincidentally) played another mmorpg on the unoffical French Server and I loved it. The population was steady at all times due to the high European, North American East Coast and N.A. West Coast players in their respective time zones. It was fun. It was also nice to deal with all of the different languages and everyone learning to communicate however possible.

Anyway, I've long wanted to see the two versions merged, as it were. I hope it happens some time.

    Well, probably not.

As this is my only MMO (outside of the free trials of WoW and Pirates of the Burning Sea), I'll put it to you guys for confirmation, but don't we have THE BEST community, hands-down?
I've been a bit disappointed in some recent displays from some of the community, but, over-all, I do think it is the best, indeed. Players, Developers and Forums all included in the equation... and, yep, from my experiences, I say it is THE BEST.

EDIT: Silly Story: Back when I was playing SOmE other game, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... I used to visit these forums for fun. I enjoyed the players' and developers' posts and general attitude so much, from time to time I would hit up the Dev Tracker and browse around from there.

I don't think I see it as positive just in comparison to previous bad experiences with other companies and communities... I honestly think it's consistently been a much more fun place than normal.

I believe the comicbook culture, and the unabashed pride in that sort of enjoyment, has something to do with that. Not that everyone here that is a part of making this community great is/was a comicbook fan (Plenty are not), but something about that basis, or core, of that sort of camaraderie pervades the whole atmosphere.
I've thought it is somewhat attached to the great bios you'll see in-game. Not just by role-players and the like. From all sorts of players. *shrugs*

EDIT EDIT: Also, the fact that this game doesn't conform to a lot of other stale standards and is a bit unconventional (Compared to the mmo world that became quite a sea of stringent conventions) may play a big part. Or maybe it just comes from the top down and the developers being so cool and fun, combined with being a successfully fun game... made it that way.
Combination of all of this to make it a (close-to) perfect storm.
  23. Okay, a few good things have actually come out of this.

besides being shown greater levels of face palm images...

We got a great quote from Steampunkette, "grandest kicker of puppies in the CoH universe" and some interesting alternative backstories (Thanks, Butane!).

Anyway, I find it funny when someone starts out by laying out the ground rules to explain how a certain issue doesn't fit.
You have a problem - How/Why does Cole become a Nazi?
You can't find the answer - According to your rules, you don't see the answer to the problem

Maybe your false rules are what is causing the problem.

I'd offer thoughts to the original questions, but it doesn't seem worth the time and it's mostly been said already (And thoughts don't seem to be wanted by everyone...).
