Quote:I'm not ever in favor of spoilers and I avoid ever being the victim of it however I can (as a huge Star Wars fan, I avoided all and never knew anything about the movies... not even IMAGES... nothing... That was HARD... anyway)...Hey, thanks SO MUCH for the spoiler RIGHT IN THE ******* THREAD TITLE!!!
I mean, **** anybody who might actually be READING this, right?
However... isn't a DC RESET, basically by definition, going to result in Bruce being Batman?
Unless my sarcasm detector failed here... I am sorry if it did ruin anything for ya, that always sucks (not that I made this thread or anything, but still).
Anyways... don't worry... within 5 or so years, Bruce will likely not be Batman again... -

I just wanted males to have a clock belt (and those cool sock sleeve gloves!).
<.< -
Okay, so the answer is simple:
Make a Mind Control/Illusion/Trick Arrow/Rad/Archery/Plant/Kin/Dual Blades/Energy Aura/Dark/Dark/Energy/Mind/Sonic/Storm/WP/Broad Sword/SR/Emp/Fire/Luminous Blast/Luminous Aura Pixie.
Glad we could help! -
To make the transition flow, the last few panels of the final books before the big reboot are going to be two kids playing with action figures. The one's mother comes to take him home.
After saying goodbye, the kid remaining grabs all his toys and says to himself, "Finally, now that Timmy is gone... NONE of that HAPPENED AT ALL!" And he starts playing again.
Their other plan was to have Bruce Wayne come out of the shower and reveal that the previous decades had all been a dream. -
Obviously, if I'd been so committed to the spouse in order to have such a relationship while performing as a super hero... I'd have to chose to save them (certainly in this case).
Quote:Are we to assume a spouse and offspring that you actually like?
I lol'd
Quote:I don't even see where it has to be family -- the hero's primary goal should be the safety of others. A couple people in real, immediate distress should trump hypothetical (even if probable) distress in the future.

In my opinion anyone engaging in Heroic activities should know that having nonpowered friends places them in great danger simply by caring for them. The true hero sacrifices his right to have emotions for others in order to benefit others.

Also, the traditional Pixie can be rather skilled with a bow, so I tend to think about archery for them as well.
You could go with a Defender /archery... Kinetics can actually be a good choice. Not a bad way to mess with people with a bit of faerie dust... speed 'em up... slow 'em down... hehe.
Storm works. You mentioned Rad, so that's there too. -
Quote:I don't know... If you add +knockback to a power, it increases the distance you send the enemy. I'm not sure it is any different vs us (I truly don't know).Ever notice how when we get knocked back, it always seems to be the same distance? That plus a dev comment from issue 4 around the time player knockback was implemented about how they had to "jump through hoops" to get it to work, leads me to believe super knockback isn't actually possible. I think when an object explodes and annoyingly repels you for 5 seconds, that's the devs' attempt to have super knockback with the current limits.
I thought that getting caught in the blast from destroying a Rikti bomb in the street, during an invasion, sent me back farther than anything I'd ever experienced in game. What the truth in the numbers is, again, I am not sure. -
I thought it was because the Numenorean blood has been slowly dwindling away.

It's not just (or even mainly) about obvious gender traditions...
The Steampunk Pack doesn't give Males the clockface belts!
Yes, there are some decisions based on opinionated societal regularities (my opinion on that is -if anyone cares- stuff that), but there are also decisions that I suppose were made just on offering different things and not doing the work to share each and every gender-neutral piece and/or keeping a balance in numbers between the two sexes.
I, personally, think that any gender-neutral piece (really any piece, but I'll let them withhold obvious things if they want to) should always be included for all genders. The counter to that is that this would cut down the amount of different pieces added. What's worse? Same pieces added for all genders or some no reason disparity of belt buckles and neutral jackets?
Quote:There are worms in the ground!...
According to some, yes. Remember, the best way to solve an issue is stick your head in the ground and hope it goes away...

Haha, love it (the frequent flier badge is a nice touch!).
I was just talking to a friend about how fun it can be when you get sent really far back in a video game.
Destroying a Rikti Bomb can send you back a nice amount.
And, yeah, it would make a lot of sense for some of the GMs to have some massive knockback.
I'd enjoy it, at least! -
Quote:Very exciting and interesting... Might this be tech be applied to enable auras around wings? Or would wings be a completely different geometry hurdle than character bodies? The Ascension Armor and Victorian Decor auras are the first auras to demonstrate some very exciting tech - FX geo that scales with physique to avoid clipping issues. We can do a lot with this new tech, and a decent energy armor aura is definitely on our wishlist.
Regardless, that new tech is very cool and looks great!
Quote:For that matter, I'd love to hear everyone's feedback on the 20.5 auras, especially the path auras. It's the first time we've released a big batch of these, so I'd like to know your reaction to them.
I posted this in the official Feedback: New Costume Pieces, Auras and Emotes thread over in the open beta forums:
*big applause*
First off, the auras are really fantastic!
Not just in execution, but also in concept. Slime and Boils are two great options to add into the mix and they look fabulous!
And not just those either... But I especially love the look and animation of those. I feel like you captured the essence of the material there.
I think I only have two critiques to offer:
Several of the auras have options that include extra effects from the character's EYES, but none of them (maybe one does) have a specific EYES ONLY option.
For example, PIXELS has a head option that has extra pixel effects floating in and around the eyes, but there is no eyes option.
I honestly think that almost all of the emotes would benefit from having an eyes only option.
Some of them even have an Eyes and Fists option, but no Eyes only option (Pixels may be the one, if it is only one, I can't remember specifically which ones).
And, I have to mention (as I have a handheld mega-doom-disintegrator blaster pointed at my head)...
A Head/Hair/and/or Eyes option for Slime and Boils would be soooooooo perfect for... some characters...
Like Master Commander Zox'Oculox of the Zogg Galactic Empire, for instance...
One other thing:
The Feathers Aura could use an increase in the size of the feathers and possibly would benefit greatly from options like the Rock Crumble and Sparkles Auras have in Heavy and Light.

Weird, Dinah...
I once saw another thread that someone had posted with a similar (or the same) problem.
I am not sure if they figured it out or got around it or what...
In a bit, I'll have some time to dig through my post history to find the thread (not positive it has any information that'll be helpful).
EDIT:
Here are the two threads that user created about the topic:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=256849
&
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=257620
Unfortunately, I see no evidence of it being resolved. However, there are some suggestions and tests in there you may want to try and see if that helps, at least, determine anything and pin point what is going on there. -
Quote:What you want is the current system and it is working. As with all things, random is random.
Eh, I say bull!
I've been on more than one Lambdaa where I've worked my **** off blasting away on my blaster and dropped less than a scrapper who I happen to be personal friends with... And, after the successful run, I got the Threads Table and the Scrapper qualified for the component table.
I participated in each part of the trial. I blasted away on Weapons Crates. I may have dropped only once during that phase and I hit several of them with my blasts.
So, whatever.
I do not believe it works correctly. It may work correctly for whatever parameters they set... but something is off.
It just seems like it is asking a binary system to gauge something that it is not capable of doing.
You know me. You know how I play.
After going through a Lambdaa run and getting only the Threads table for it... It's not a good vibe.
EDIT: I should make it clear...
If my individual participation was not worthy enough to earn the Component Table Roll, as it was to others within the League, despite the final success of the Trial... Then the system is stupid and I would prefer it be removed.
Either way, I don't think the system works for providing fun. -
Quote:Not to mention that not all of those items on the list are, by the same definitions, "bug fixes".http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c
You say it's not a bug. That is true relative to the way the term "bug" is being used in this instance. However I am taking a broader perspective of the term "bug" in this case by applying it to things that limit our ability to create costumes.
On this we shall simply have to agree to disagree.
Maybe Zombie Man ate some bad brains or something. Put him in a fouler mood. -
Thanks to Zwill, El Top and Cheryl for throwing that list our way! Much appreciated!
And very nice to see those things being adjusted!
-
Quote:Huh, that was noted and acknowledged while on test. I guess they didn't fix that yet! While I have noted a number of these same bugs, I found one that no one seems to me mentioning. Using the new rifle for the AR set the muzzle animation is considerably lower than the actual muzzle of the rifle. This makes the flash or fire stream look as if it is firing from mid air not the rifle.

Quote:My name is Super Platypus and I approve of this message. While your at it ask them if they could give us a Platypus head and an animated Beaver tail.
Hey, the Beaver tail could even have an attack like Brawl and slap the crap out of anyone attacking from behind.
-
And it is this paramount difference between us that defines why we see this differently.
My reason to play is to have fun bopping and zapping and whatever-ing (no, not that!) enemies left and right and having fun playing make believe within a virtual super hero world.
The only thing I need to earn is smiles. -
In response to the OP...
No.
This whole concept of locking these non-incarnate things behind Level 50 Incarnate Trials is rather distasteful to me (my opinion, you can't take it away from me).
The prices will come down, but it doesn't matter if they are 1 astral for the lot, it's still ridiculous.
And it has seriously made me look at this game very differently and that's all I'm going to say about that (other than it makes me absolutely not want to give them additional money for a booster of stuff that they were already going to implement in the game within a regular update).
Quote:"earning rewards"?Is that why people bother working their way up to level 50? So that they can sit there on their towers casting down upon the people who are only level 49? Of course not. They do it because they enjoy the cool stuff they get by earning those 50 levels. It has little to do with pleasure in lording your loot over other people. It has to do with earning rewards, having goals to work towards and things given to you for actual effort, not just having everything handed out on a silver platter.
Gating costume bits behind level 50 AND repeated Trials in order to create a character who could be based around (or completed by) having certain chest emblems, auras, etc is a reward that must be earned?
Download, a mutant who has the ability to enter into digital streams and control machines and blah blah blah... the pixel aura is perfect for the concept! Go get a character to 50, start the Incarnate path, then you can go make him... now you've earned the right to create that character concept... all others are unworthy!!!
"handed out on a silver platter?"
Yeah, because you do not deserve the right to have new options available to you to play with in your game to create and customize characters!! -
Quote:Fixeded for you, free of charge!!You're right!
What I'm more worried about not seeing mentioned in this little quote is I see no mention of Power Pool and Epic Power Customization, which if the #! most important thing they need to work on.
IMO...others may vary (but they'd be wrong >_>) -
Best of luck with the computer, Deebs!
Stupid computers... If I didn't need one to post this, I'd kick it right now...
