Portas' appraisal of the Scarab of Doom was only beaten in hilarity by Mort's line about giving them his phone number.
My only complaint about the whole thing so far is this: The victim's lines. They're funny, delivered well, and all that, but it's pretty clear they were recorded in a bathrom or somesuch, rather than the clear sound of the rest of the cast. Otherwise, I like it. -
I love this. I hope the next one is CoT in Perez Park.
-
I don't like it.
Not because of the AT balance, that's nice.
Not because of Oranbega, I like that place.
But because the Statesman Task Force, the grand be-all-end-all of missions, is against Arachnos.
Arachnos, who, if you don't set foot in Faultline or PvP zones, and you ignore the mindless repetition of band missions, you NEVER SEE.
Personally, I thought the final fight in the STF should be against enemies you've definitley seen, and couldn't avoid, like Arachnos or Longbow on CoV. Personally, I always liked the idea of a mass jailbreak, headed by Baron Zoria and Nemesis. Fill the other points with villain group leaders everyone knows like Doc Vahz, Crey and Requiem, and you've got a solid epic fight against people who've been your enemies the whole game.
As it stands? Foes you barely know the backstory of if you didn't play CoV. And last I checked, parts of the STF were constructed to show hero-only players things only CoV got beforehand. Why spoil it by filling it with enemies that if you only play CoH you only know exist and run the Rogue Isles? -
Bah, I don't see whyt he Statesman TF has to be against Arachnos still! It's Paragon's biggest enemies, and we're facing them as main enemies in five zones already, and they're not particularly interesting foes! We need...
A mass jailbreak, staged by the Circle of Thorns! That way we can have Zoria alongside Nemesis, the Clockwork King, Countess Crey, Doc Vahz, Dreck, Requiem, and Tub Ci!
...Well, I wanna face Baron Zoria... -
...Isn't a random Clockwork boss a bad thing, usually?

Once, I suggested, among other enemies, a Tsoo AV. Thsi was pre-I7. In I7? We get Tub Ci in Viridian's arc. I was happy. And now, for listing what my character's powers are.
Ein Dose (Robotics/Traps): Possession. Just a very long confusion, with a DoT similar to the Crey Radiologist's rez. The animation by the MM is either Soul Storm, Fortitude, or the one-handed toss blast animation used for Neutrino Bolt, Shadow Bolt, etc.. the graphic is the same as used by Mother Mayhem's flunkies. RP-wise, one of her darklings possesses an enemy, as well as slowly killing said enemy from the inside.
Bidon De A (Broadsword/Regeneration): Quantum Arrow. Fires an arrow at the target, causing them to be Phase Shifted, with a DoT. RP-wise, it's an arrow cooked up by a friend of hers. -
My villain's probably an interesting example of weaknesses: A Robotics/Traps Mastermind, she uses robots given to her by a friend and dimensional anomalies (the traps from other dimensions) to defeat enemies. However, she has an easy motivation to break: She kills people because it's fun. Give her something more fun and she'll go away fro a while. Of course, since nobody's done that, she needs other weaknesses. Think about it: If kryptonite was never discovered, Superman would be practically indestructible. So Bidon was used as an excuse to screw up her dimensional powers (No A-Bombs for you!), and other than her traps and some last-ditch weapons and powers learned from Ghost Widow, she's doomed if you get rid of her robots. Yes, I did just use a Mastermind's normal weakness. I fall else fails, use your character's in-game weakness.
Another point: Character event development. If something happens in-game that would make your character act a certain way, do it. Hell, it doesn't even have to have happened yet! During I7 test, Ein found out about the final Patron arc, and became hell-bent on stopping it happening, because she doesn't want that to happen. Dont' let something interesting pass you by.
Even if you only think something interesting might happen, if you can think of a good way to implement it and a way out if it doesn't happen. The 'Epic Archetype Unlocked' message when Ein hit 50 confused me, so Ein went mildly insane from a Nictus following her. I didn't unlock Kheldians, so the Nictus, who was going to possess Ein (or attempt to), got distracted by a Freakshow. I assure you, he will come back though. -
Back up to the top of the board! You're not allowed to die!

On Virtue (the RP server if you didn't know), the forumgoer, RPer, and generally well-liked Sorah held an awards ceremony in Pocket D. I wasn't there, but I will still talk about it because I know the stuff that happened.
The awards went fromt he predictable "Best Male RPer", "Best Advertiser of the Tanker AT", to the bizarre such as "Most likely to monologue", "Most amusing fake accent" and "Most likely to faceplant" (Synapse was nominated in that last one).
It all started in the way everyone sor tof predicted. Then an unexpected visitor showed up: Ghost Widow. Piloted by a dev, and accompanied by another dev, the low-profile pohsyb (I think that's how you spell it), they gave out custom titles like Karnal Sin's 'Master of Ceremonies' (Sorah's character), the famous Ascendant's 'Sauled', Bayani's 'Hotter than Xanatos', Xanatos' 'Smarter than Bayani'. and such.
Most of the attention moved to Ghost Widow, who actually attempted RPing but there was too many people there to really RP effectively. The Last Vanguard, an anti-Arachnos villain group, moved into another, mostly empty instance of Pocket D because of this. Eventually, Ghost Widow followed them. She seemed to know what the Vanguard was all about, but one of the greatest long-term effects was that there was an RP proposal, because we're RPers and that's what we do. Oh yeah, and after a while she went back to the main D instance - outside the walls.
Sometime after I7 I believe, the wedding took place somehwere in Nerva from the screenshots. Everyone was all dressed up there (The image of Mountain Troll in a tuxedo=priceless), except for the special guest: Ghost Widow.
To this day, I believe that Ghost Widow has beent he most involved signature character in the CoX community because of her appearances. When was the last time Positron ever danced with you, huh? -
Anyone ever wonder what it would be like if you were on a team with a dev?
Look for the guy, speaking complete proper English, in a comic-book-esque outfit, with an interesting bio, who happens to know EXACTLY what to do.
I might also help to later attempt to duplicate their outfit. If all of that is true (except the last one, that may well be false), you've narrowed it down to the fact that they're either a dev, a smart player, or possibly a ninja. More than one of these may apply, depending on who the dev was, and if you teamed with a Stalker. -
He was probalby the guy who specifically requested for the Primal Instinct badge to be damn near impossible to find without the aid of the internet.
-
Citadel and Seige right now, at least in battle, have a surgically removed face. I know this because I killed Citadel.

Pocket D instance 5.
And yeah, War Witch's ghost is the trainer in Croatoa, and an alternate War Witch is in Pocket D. I believe the creator was refering, apparently, tot he dev War Witch. Honestly, I've never heard of her, but I'm not the smartest guy around. -
Okay, I'm not actually on test, but I have a few things to say either way:
-I've read 33 pages of recounts of Mayhem missions, and noticed a distinct lack of Blue Steel, the most logical guy to try to stop you. By 'distinct lack' I mean he isn't there, and he really should be.
-There were only two people saying they fought Statesman, and neither of them seemed to have nearly as much trouble as the people who faced Back Alley Brawler. I seem to remember they were both Inv/SS Tankers. I doubt Back Alley Brawler really can overpower Statesman like this.
-It seems a lot of the signature heros, and also the signature villains in Recluse's Victory, need nerfing. I can only imagine how painful it is to face Swan. -
I could see Recluse summoning Arachnos soldiers out of nowhere. that would be pretty cool. I think those two red and purple guys would be his second-tier pet. First tier would be Arbiters, and third tier would be too scary to mention, but maybe something like 'Perfect Arachnoid'.
And even so, I have figured out throught he limited proof I have been given what Incranate Recluse is. First, let's look at the facts I have.
History of the Gods: Now, in greek mythology, there were only really two people worthy of being called 'villains'. Kronos the Titan and Hades. Hades only so because he's the lord of the underworld, but still.
The Lord Recluse wallpaper: Look, if you will, at the City of Villains wallpaper page. THe sixth one, the one just after the first image of Recluse battling Statesman and winning. It seems the only image we can really find of Lord Recluse's glowing red hands. Wait, that's not glow... He's set his hand on fire!
yes, that's it. But it narrows Recluse down to this: Lord Recluse is the reincarnation of Hades, God of the Underworld. That still doesn't stop him from being the world's best Crab Spider though. -
Just a few things, it's mostly good.
Bloody Bay: The manual claims that the meteors are one living being, not a weapon.
Nerva Archipelago: You neglect to mention that everybody's killing everybody else in Primeva.
St. Martial: It seems the whole island actually belongs to Johnny Sonata. At least, he says something along those lines. Also, he has hired the demon hunter Hardcase to eliminate the Wailers (who in turn hires you to help eliminate the Wailers) and the Mu to use magic to ward the Wailers out of Babylon, where the Golden Giza, and himself, is.
Arachnos: You forget to mention that they have relatively recently hired the Mu to assist their prior forces of the Crab Spiders, Wolf Spiders, Tarantulas, Fortunas and Widows.
Infected: They're actually homeless people who just drank the wrong water.
Circle of Thorns: The main reason Arachnos hired the Mu. They have also summoned Lilitu, Infernal's mother. She has a pact with the Oranbegans that essentially is to kill all the Mu. Understandably, the Mu are against this.
Nemesis: Nemesis are also intending to replace people, slowly, with their new, incredibly realistic automatons. Sadly, they're starting with you and the technician who indirectly caused this situation, Grant Naylor.
I don't think I can find anything aside from these. -

PS. How about a guide for getting a job at Cryptic and taking over for Statesman?
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, here's a step-by-step guide to takingover for Statesman.
1. Download both CoH and CoV.
2. Get a bottle of any kind of alcohol.
3. Beat yourself over the head until you fall into a coma.
4. Hope your coma fantasy is about taking over for Statesman. This will scare you away from ever thinking of doing that again. -
...Wow. Apparently, I am one OLD teenager. I fit at least a quarter of these things.
I'm scared.
