Cardiff has zero snow, i hate countries who have snow right now.
Heard the following on the news earlier.
"The large majority of the UK are celebrating the snow that is falling."
They lie! -
Quote:I was at work, hastily searching to see if the Emperor had posted any more in this thread, but I wound up on the Profile Page for Emperor Marcus Cole instead.
I noticed the following message:
"Emperor Marcus Cole has not made any friends yet"
You just cannot carry on that way when you arrive in a new neighborhood, dude!
Emperor Cole doesnt MAKE friends! Emperor Cole makes followers!
Where does your loyalty lay soldier?! -
Ok now not sure if this is what your looking for but here goes.
Basically put difficulty down to heroic, flashback to the dreams of peace and acts of war story arc and presto!
1st mish = click glowie & defeat boss (took 2 minutes)
2nd mish = rescue hostage. On this one look for the soldier and rescue him first, then lead him to a mob and let him die. Mission will fail but arc will continue.
3rd mish = defend base (either this 1 or the portal corp mission). Defeat 3 bosses, nice and easy.
4th mish = portal corp mish (or the 3rd mish), the spawns/hostages and always in same location so once you memorize the location of each it takes roughly 5 minutes to finish.
5th mish = 2 bosses
6th mish = 2 bosses
7th mish = 1 EB
Now again solo it took me 20 minutes roughly but i know with practice it can be down to roughly 10 - 15 minutes since on heroic all boss classes are now lieuts. Just a matter of speed then. Happy merit farming!
The above i copied and pasted from a message i sent a friend of mine almost a year ago but if anything it'ld be even easier with the new difficulty settings, so in theory it could get to below 10 minutes. What i used was a fire/dark scrapper. By using a combo of both stealth + tp friend, it is simple for a duo. Hope i was some help.
[well thats my personal method of getting merits fast if i need something desperately and want to solo] -
Ah i get to enter a "original happy" cossie? Oh great i wanted to spend most of today playing my new game on the wii!
Ok ok ok time to get the creative mind going again! Come on brain, i dont like you and you dont like me, but lets win this and i'll let you go back to sleep again! -

Quote:Does anyone else find this thing absolutely infuriating? I mean, I can't get the Gold Medal without Speed Boost, but when I have Speed Boost I just lose control!
Any tips, pointers etc to share? :S
I am complete rubbish at the ski slopesI amuse myself by chatting on broadcast there or using lightning rod just before the start

Quote:If the dev's want to delete this cuz they think it is explotative feel free, but I would like to point out that if you do it right, you can get a free name change from the free server transfer as well. Somebody might have already posted this, but if not, there ya go. I just did this on one of my folks and it worked out great. Used 2 of my free transfers, but it was worth it.
Should be public knowledge on how to do this by now since a large majority of global channels [popular ones at that too] had people explaining how to do it. Pretty simple and straightforward too. -

Quote:Well, I have been told that Protector is offensive, so you may want to watch out for that one.
Ohhhh thats like calling out the Protectors hate mob!!!
*sits back and grabs a panini*
[OT think we need to know your actual playstyle/senses of humour/activities you enjoy to suggest which to avoid] -
Beware of us unionites
We are a tad "crazy" hehe

Quote:According to the wiki, this functionality has been in the game for more than two years. If you've never used it before, I can see how you wouldn't understand how it works. But why would anyone assume that they deliberately changed it to screw up characters as part of the holiday gift packaging?
Between the "free gifts = CoX shutting down, GR means nothing" and this, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
Remember dont take those crazy pills while drinking -
Quote:Wow...and yet AGAIN we see that no good deed (by the devs) goes unpunished...
Geez, it's FREE, guys! If you don't want it or can't get any use out of it, then don't use it and you're no worse off than you were yesterday!
Unless of course your friends use the transfer to go to another serverhehe
Sorry couldnt resis
I might transfer one or two defiant characters over to union but thats it
Merry xmas and thanks devs -

Quote:You know, its not really my math skills that are valuable to the devs for closed beta testing. Primarily, its because I always try to pick things no one else is looking at, and test that to death. That makes me a consistently unique tester in that regard. Now, some of the things I look at require significant math skills to analyze, or require perspectives and knowledge fairly unique to me, but in every closed beta there is a giant laundry list of things that I think should be tested to a higher degree than they ultimately are, because not many people try to test something other than what everyone else is. And many of those things don't require specialized knowledge or computational skills. They do require methodical testing ability.
Most people test what they are familiar with, what they think will be the most interesting thing to test, what everyone else is testing, or what they think are the "most important" parts of the issue. I always spend most of my time testing something else entirely.
I cannot say how to get into the closed betas on any consistent basis (or at all), but I suspect that doing that makes me more valuable to the testing process, and by extension anyone else looking to make themselves valuable to the testing process might want to consider a similar testing strategy (even if its conducted during open beta, it will still be noticed by the devs if done well). No guarantees, and it will probably seem like work - but that's really what closed beta is: work.
I do think though that most people would agree that the first wave of public betas should go to people like you who do take deep care and actually make a huge difference. Also people like zombie_man who iirc has made some very helpfull guides for when issues hit open beta, makes things a lot easier for people like me who [if im honest] have nowhere near the intellectual skills such as yourself.
I think the only thing i have contributed on any significant level was for the MA when i did a guide with screenshots of every map. So i'ld gladly give up my beta access if it meant that a person who'ld contribute more could be there.
Edit: btw heyThanks for your guides! Been a great help for me!

Quote:The old tired refrain one of the devs trots out to explain why this brand is pathetically under advertised.
If management believes that marketing has potentially been costing the game revenue by doing a lousy job building, and retaining subscribers interest via advertising, that should be vehemently pointed out to the publisher, until it's resolved.
Everyone at PS and NCS is involved in this product to make money, no?
Why should a CoH subscriber routinely receive email fliers from a rival company for a game many of us hate, while literally months will pass with not so much as a crumb of a tidbit to maintain interest in this mmo.
Bad marketing for anything, allowed to continue for years, is bad management, excuses aside.
Speaking of that email from that other game, i didnt get oneNot that it would have mattered but still!

Ultimate Damz:
This is my main character who is by far my favourite character that i have ever made. First one to reach level 50 and has roughly 316 badges [for me thats a lot], he is an illusion/radiation/fire mastery controller. On the union server he is the character with which most of my friends recognise me for, not because i use it the most [which i dont at the moment because of alts] but because i try and design the character to the way that i see myself if i was in a universe like this [i have other forms of damz though too].
Playstyle wise, it fits me perfectly. I feel both overpowered and underpowered at the same time which is what i want. I know that as soon as i take my mind off for a second that i will really struggle, however i also know that if even a GM ambushed me that i could stand my ground. Has been said that this character can keep up with an average [note, not a good/experienced] fire/kin in a farming map which i do pride myself on.
Noob Buster:
My second level 50 and the character that was made from my forum title on the EU forums before the merger. At the time i was constantly changing my forum handle and a few people were giving out names and somebody [cant remember who] mentioned noob buster and i took it and ever since people tend to call me the noob buster/the noob when im standing around in atlas, hence i HAD to make a character called it.
He is a fire/dark/fire scrapper and i am still unsure which direction to take his final steps too. So far i've fully respec'd him a few times to test out different styles of play. Firstly i was able to get all his resistances to over 50% without sacrificing damage which i did really like, second i tried for getting as much recharge as possible which again i liked but didnt like my health bar going down so fast even though i do have dark regeneration and thirdly i went for a build for defence which again i was a bit iffy on.
Great for taking on large groups but he does struggle against mobs with very high burst damage. However in a drawn out battle then he is awesome!
Lord Lightman:
My first and only blaster that got to a high level! He is an AR/NRG blaster and boy is he a powerhouse! Boost range + full auto = a godsend! He is now my main competition funder for when i want some quick influence for a quick competition.
Has spent many times just herding and shooting down "romans" and never gets boring!
Has built him for max damage output and have capped out his ranged damage, which for his build/style of play i think is perfect since large majority of the mob SHOULD be dead before they get to melee range.
Is the only mid - high level character that i have that doesnt have my signature damz in the name. Great fun to play and love the character.
