    One thing I think we might want to consider is NC Soft's new plans for their exclusively-owned franchise. They want to improve and expand on the City of Heroes and Villains brand. Whether that means sequels or expansions, we are in a position to campaign for an improved PvP environment and assist them as best we can.

    Much of the old PvPer bitterness is fading, and in fact many vets are returning to or re-examining the value of CoX PvP lately. Many players (and entire SG's) who've left the game still believe this is the best MMO PvP mechanic out there.

    I think every PvPer should start thinking about where it can go.

    I have absolutely no problems with anyone in VR and even respect them as some of the best players to ever step into the Arena. By some people posting/bashing them in this thread gives the impression that FoL has something against VR.
    We don't.
    Anyone in either SG that has personal problems can keep them in PMs.

    FoL is still friendly to and respects VR as a whole and we look forward to our official match. I hope and expect that the feeling is mutual.

    Hope I didn't overstep my bounds here but it's tiring to see the constant bashing.

    The idea of having the title be PvP Q&amp;A with castle would have been better I admit. Wish I would have thought of it.

    Even some of the answers for "PvP" questions are interesting from a purely PvE point of view I think. The Power Animation times right off the top of my head. Also the Cathedral of Pain Trial question.

    Look at the bright side. This probably won't be the only Dev interview the City Scoop does and I most certainly will not be the only one doing the interviews.

    There's always the PvP forums for advice and discussions about builds and tactics. Some really good information there for those interested.
  19. I didn't see much of Digital Thunder the 2nd or 3rd match either.
    Not saying he wasn't doing anything, I just couldn't see him. Darn Invisibility.

    I'm thinking of maybe begging for GM priviledges just so I can use a police drone thingy to cover events in zones on servers I have only low level alts on. Maybe those things fly faster than the observer camera too. It's really tough to keep up with the action in some of those matches when you're stuck in slow-mo mode.

    There is alot of PvP going on in the game. Excentric and I are just trying to show it in an honest light.

    I used to be in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism).

    I like my combat games a bit on the realistic side

    Some friends and I are currently in development of graphics engine and someday hope to start building a primitive MMO of our own. Talking about how the best way to build a game economy, arrange challenging encounters, and develop a backstory will get you some wierd looks also.

    You know, its funny I keep seeing people post this and it always make me laugh. I certainly exploited travel powers in PvE with my Blaster (first character) and suppression is more likely to be negated in (team) PvP via buffs than it is in PvE. I can't say what the devs "true" motivations are/were, but to claim that there was no PvE justification for making changes to how travel powers operate in combat is false. Would if have been changed if PvP were never introduced? I don't know, but at a minimum the situation is more complex than you've presented it.

    I'm glad you're amused. However, I'll reiterate for the sake of clarity that I don't believe travel powers ever were in any way being "exploited" in PvE. In fact, I believe travel suppression wasn't even REMOTELY a PvE consequence. Ironically, it wasn't until folks were getting pwned in the Arena when the devs starting justifying how imbalanced the PvE had become. The only things complex about this were the dance steps to sell it, sir.

    This is a superhero/supervillain MMO. At a "minimum", comic lore does not support what our dev team justified needing to be done to travel powers. IMO, PvP balance is what supported it and PvE play fell victim to the excuse. We appear to disagree. And while that's ok, I feel compelled to distinguish your use of the term exploit from mine in the proper context.

    Even a nub like myself can go back and find that supression was added due to people using it to exploit the mechanics of the PvE game. People were jousting mobs, etc and never getting hit thus ruining the whole risk vs reward thing. This was the reason it was changed. Anything that affects PvP across the board with such a thing like supression not being there is balanced since anyone can do it. PvP would be just as balanced if supression was or wasn't there in my opinion.

    I always found that even when jousting, whenever you get in range of the mob to attack it, it instantly counter-attacks.
