Slotting both is nice, but the ToHit debuff is significantly more important.

^ all good ways of slotting it, probably other good ways also. -
It's about 107% rchg for perma hasten with 3 rchg IOs in Hasten. Or about that amount of rchg with 2 IOs in Hasten and spiritual alpha slot.
as an aside, my dom runs 128.8% rchg for perma domination without hasten (hasten is also perma) -
Keep in mind if you post the time you will be in RV you will be hunted by certain people that think killing players that have no intention of pvping will make their e-peen super huge.

Heh I did Boomies MTG quiz a while ago.
I WILL MILL YOUR FACE. -
It's basically a question of do you want more AoE (/Fire) or more ST (/EM).
/EM's one KB is an extremely good mitigation tool. With 100% chance for KB on a very short recharge you can keep a boss or other dangerous mob completely locked down til theyre dead, and its just ST so you don't have to worry about scattering mobs and making your team hate you since anything you KB for protection should be dead seconds later. -
Quote:Listen to everything this guy says =PCorrs are actually very strong soloists. They've got pretty good damage and the buffs/debuffs help a lot.
If you want to solo, /Rad, /Dark and /Traps are very strong contenders. Therm and Pain are more team-focused and /Cold is awesome but matures late.
DP would be able to solo fine, its got fairly decent single target and AoE damage as well as some mezzing capabilities for troublesome mobs like Sorcerers/Sappers.
If its your first Corr, I'd recommend /Dark or /Rad. They're both very strong, solo capable sets that get their key powers early. They're both very straightforward and wouldn't be overly obnoxious with the redraw from DP.
Good luck -
Quote:*goes along with the necro since it pertains to my interests* :PIf there were such threads to revive, this would be one of them.
Seriously though, most of Mind/ is skippable, could complete this with just Confuse alone. However, my build has everything but Levitate, TK, and Total Dom. On the /Fire side, I didn't take any of the AoE's or the snipe, you want Blaze, Incinerate, and Fire Blast for your main attack chain. Confuse > Blaze > Incinerate should be the chain you use for AV's. And of course Ice Mastery is a must for the epic powerset, I completed this before it was released for Doms.
Did u ever try chaining Dominate > Blaze > Incin on AVs for a bit of extra damage, or does the hold not last long enough? I'd think it would work for lvl 50 AVs but not sure about higher level ones. *needs to start playing dom more* -
Membrane HOs also work. While they are expensive they can help you save slots if you need them.

Quote:Pseudopets (ie blizzard, icestorm, RoF, etc) deal the same amount of damage between ATs.They work the same as RoF... plus the base damage is higher than a def anyway... my knee jerk reaction is always corr>def now that you can start in Praetoria and go Blue early.
I'm not absolutely sure on this but I think Ice Storm and Blizzard do 3x damage on scourge like RoF does.
Corr is definitely the better choice though, either way. -
I wasn't aware that mids was not compatible with a mac. Sounds like you just want someone else to do all the work for you with 0 effort on your part without knowing anything about the set.

Hello, 2 billion a piece IOs. Those are way too powerful.

Gratz Kev, very nice
Can't wait to start trying this stuff on my mind/fire. 13 bil down the drain, just gotta accolade him.

Quote:This. Right here, Dispari nailed it.Yes, let's start with the obvious.
500% of 0.75 = 3.75
500% of 1.125 = 5.625
0.75 doing double damage due to -RES = 1.5
1.125 doing double damage due to -RES = 2.25
There is not a situation where a Corruptor on the same team as a Blaster, with the same buffs or debuffs, would do more damage than the Blaster. In fact, even if the Corruptor has a very rare musculature and the Blaster does not, the Blaster is still doing more damage. Tossing damage on a significantly smaller damage scale means a significantly smaller return. So the Corruptor can waste his alpha slot on damage and still not do as much as the Blaster, while the Blaster can invest in spiritual or cardiac and get actual bonuses, all while still doing more than the Corruptor. Because that's his job.
While I am a huge proponent of Corruptors, and all their wonderful awesomeness, because they are all that, being able to leverage huge buffs, debuffs, and damage. A Blaster, without considering any other factors or buffs or debuffs, does indeed contribute less to a team than a corrupter 99% of the time. The problem with that statement though is that when there are large amounts of debuffs and buffs on the team already this is where blasters thrive.
You can only do so much -res, -def, and -regen to an enemy before more doesn't really matter anymore. Same with buffs, once you're at the damage cap you can't go higher, and when everyone is already running around with double the softcap on defenses you don't really need more.
When you have so much buffs and debuffs on a team already (where everyone is above softcap, capped damage, and the enemies are flatlining regen, and hitting 200-300 -res) the best thing isn't going to be a corruptor (hopefully assuming that you've gotten to this point with multiple corrs) it's going to be a blaster or a scrapper. And now with that blaster(or scrapper) on your team, not only is it dealing it's BETTER DAMAGE off of those massive buff/debuffs on the team already, it is (or should be >_>) 100% devoted to dealing damage, further widening the gap between how much more damage blasters will be putting out than if you added another corr to the team (as much as I love teams with 7-8 corrs, its true). -
-
I like how the scrapper forum has this reputation for being the go to place for number crunching, regardless of AT.
As per the question, I suck at doing the maths to get the needed recharges for attack chains -
-
.....no.
It would have been an interesting thing to read through if you fleshed out all 9 tiers for each power set, however to actually put it in game, it just seems like it would make the game look very unprofessional and shoddy. -
Quote:I'm well aware how that set up works, and where the contribution comes from, as I run that team composition or similar teams on a near daily basis. Yes, those spots could be filled with any high damaging AT, the team is based around the 1 kin, 3 colds setup, but to say those blaster spots would be better off with say a pb (ie the average damage producer you mention) is ludicrous. The numbers aren't anywhere near close. That stack could be dead without the blasters. The damage the other players are doing, alone, is sufficient (particularly since you made everything fire). Those 2-3 spots could be filled with virtually anything, because their primary role isn't in the amount of damage they produce above average, it is simply in the fact they're doing damage. Even an average damage producer with that kind of debuff is amazing. It's the multiplicative nature of debuffs that is making it amazing.
That added Blaster(s) isn't speeding you up nearly as much as you think, even with you hand selecting Fire Blasters for these purposes. The fact you have 8 damage producers with a lot of debuff is already making it a steamroll team. Much of the damage production capability on your team is wasted in overrun.
I'll say it again, because you chose to ignore it: It's just part and parcel of an AT that primarily does one thing. The more you give other ATs that potential, the less relevant that AT becomes, even if that AT also gains in that area. As everyone's proficiency in something increases, the need for specialization decreases.
I'm not ignoring anything. The fact that you think the AT with the highest damage potential is useless is hilarious. -
Quote:You clearly don't understand high end performance of ATs or stacked teams. Blasters (especially when they're fire blasters)on teams with large amounts of buffs and debuffs are nothing short of amazing, their large damage mods make better use of the buffs and debuffs floating around than most other ATs can.Damage is already the aspect in this game that becomes the most irrelevant the fastest, because you only need enough to kill, and no more does any good. Blasters are already amongst the most irrelevant ATs at the top end, because everyone else does damage, too. Get on a team with a few debuffers, and they don't need the blaster, at all.
It's just part and parcel of an AT that primarily does one thing. The more you give other ATs that potential, the less relevant that AT becomes, even if that AT also gains in that area.
1 Fire/Kin Corr, 3-4 Fire/Cold Corrs, 2-3 Fire Blasters, and 1-2 Fire(or DM or Elec)/Shield Scrappers is basically the most stacked and effective team composition currently in CoH. Blasters are no where near useless, if you have any interest at all in destroying content.
More concerning, is that Tanks and Khelds really aren't needed for anything in this game, anything they can do can be done more effectively by another AT. -
Oh, bases are great for going afk in and not getting afk booted off the server too. Definitely not obsolete
