Momentum gets alot better with higher levels of recharge and after you get all your attacks. Momentum is quite bad at low levels because you don't have many attacks to smush into the time your momentum is up nor alot if any global recharge to help it either.

I see people over and over again saying they give up on their TW characters anywhere between 10-30, which is fair in the sense that it can be annoying over those levels, but if you're not getting TW to at least 33, you're not giving the set a fair chance.

From what I've heard from the only friend I know that plays an EA scrapper, the taunt aura in Entropic Aura is pitiful.

    Couldn't have said it better.

Just some things to add about TW:

Having a secondary with a damage aura really helps. If you're looking at an enemy with just a sliver of hp left and you don't have momentum it really sucks to spend time taking it out.

If you're going making a scrapper, make sure to pick a secondary with a taunt aura, TW performs best when everything is neatly clumped up for AoEing. (This means WP or Invul (shield is invalid))

Avoid secondaries with alot of redraw, like regen or fire. Though the latter can still perform quite well just due to the massive dmg potential of the combo.

Theres a HUGE difference between having a delay then dealing damaging and dealing immediate damage then having a dot, the person using post attack delayed dmg will outperform the person using pre attack delays every day of the week.

Once you get rolling shooting at something it's just aesthetics and math, and BR excells at both.
Unless you're using any secondary that has good click powers in it that need to be used, god forbid ones that need to be integrated into your attack chain. Then all BR will be doing is hindering you.

At most Stamina should 4 slotted, using Perf Shifter, typically though Stamina is fine on 3 slots, and even just 2 or base slot on some builds.

While health will typically just be 1-2 slot muled for a numina and miracle unique, maximizing Health has a unique niche on defense based powers without a heal such as Super Reflexes and Arachnos Widows. 2 Numinas (unique+heal) + 2 Miracles (unique+heal) + regen tissue makes a big difference for those powersets. I wouldn't do this with any other powerset though.
  7. I'd go sonic attack for defenders. If you want a fire blast toon make a corr.

The reason why Beam Rifle's single target damage is competitive with fire's is because of bonus damage from disintegrate. Effectively, fire and beam both have a secondary effect that boosts their damage.

-Beam Rifle DPA with disintegrate active-
    Single Shot: 52.66
    Charged Shot: 63.85
    Disintegrate: 63.98
    Lancer Shot: 75.36

    -Fire Blast DPA-
    Flares: 53.19
    Fire Blast: 50.1
    Fire Ball: 66.35
    Rain of Fire: 55.76
    Blaze: 159
For Blasters, the DPA on their t3 blasts is all that matters (and the t1 for mental blasters that lack the 2nd melee attack, but thats standardized), because the rest of the attack chain is best as melee attacks. Fire is doing double the DPA of Beam in this case not even factoring redraw and the longer animation meaning you can't cycle your other attacks faster. Beam is good on some corruptor sets because beam attacks will be your full attack chain, but for blasters you need to cycle in your sencondary or realize it won't be competitive.

I believe FS buffs stack as well, so the Corr should, with the right map and survival not a problem, out damage the Defender.

If it doesn't stack from self, past the initial 10 targets, and not counting inspiration use, I believe the Defender would win out untill a hard target was met, then the corr would start to win out with Scourge.

Defenders gettingmore +DMG from FS and their damage bonus when solo which last I knew, kept them pretty even with Corrs on non hard targets.

Time Manip doesn't have +DMG though, so the Corr should win out on that combo.
Kinetics' Fulcrum Shift does stack. My Kins easily run around with 30 fulcrum shifts on them. Kinetics is _always_ better on corrs.

    1) You can only have so much -regen before -regen becomes irrelevant. Once you floor a target's regeneration, lowering it more doesn't do anything. -Regen really only has an effect on AVs/GMs, any rank lower and they die too quick for it to matter. Then of those AVs/GMs even fewer will actually care if you're putting out more than -500% regen. The amount of gameplay that actually has stacked -regen pegged at anything more than 'sort of nice' to have is miniscule.

    2) BR has redraw. Top blaster performance means incorporating your secondaries melee attacks. The two don't co-exist well.

    3) Long t3 blast syndrome. Top blaster performance revolves around their t3 blast, when the t3 blast takes twice as long to animate than what you're trying to compete with, it's not going to go well.

    Otherwise, fine. >.>
  12. Both Kinetics and Time are relatively click heavy sets, for that reason I really wouldn't reccomend pairing either of them with DP due to redraw. A less click heavy set (like radiation) would work much better.

    Rad Armor

I'm looking forward to Rad Armor, though maybe more specifically I'm looking forward to seeing if it actually has a taunt aura on the scrapper version so that scrappers can have a set competitve with SD.
  14. The most important thing you'll ever slot in an aoe immob is the grav anchor hold proc, but that doesn't come until you hit 50.
  15. Corruptors have higher base damage.
    Corruptors have higher damage caps.
    Corruptors have Scourge.
Corruptors get the same numbers on many buff powers as defenders (many buff powers don't obey AT buff modifiers)

A Corruptor will always out-dps a defender. A Defender will not always out-support a Corruptor.

Yeah that sounds weird. I thought Symbiotic Armor was essentially going to be our "radiation armor"

    Hmmm

    This.
  18. Corr.

Both get blaster mods on rain powers, but corrs get scourge (scourging rain powers are dead sexy), and better dmg on their other blasts.

Heat Loss and Sleet don't benefit from defender's higher buff mods, and neither does the -regen in benumb. Sleet and HL come later for corrs (26vs35 and 32vs38 respectively), but in the end, it doesn't really matter. The only thing that defs have over corrs in cold domination is higher defense in their shields, but in this day and age of softcap, ios, and stacked maneuvers it likely won't be noticeable.

Has nothing to do with the amount of inf, I just don't like the flavor of it. I don't want to march over to wentworths for any reason when I could just use it where I was. A 5-10 inf fee wouldn't do anything to actually get people to goto wentworths, and if you made it higher than that then all it would do is make the /ah command near worthless.

Hot Feet generates alot of aggro, you'll need to make liberal use of Flashfire and Cinders before you start getting softcapped defenses+grav anchor proc.
  21. I'd put it in KoB.

Footstomp already needs room for the forcefeedback proc and either 5 armageddons or 5 oblits.

    Plant or Fire

I prefer Plant as a Dominator set, for 100% chance for boss confusion and a good aoe immob, and Fire for Trollers for containment hotfeet+fire cages for AoE and good a good ST chain using Ring of Fire, Char, and and an epic attack (fire blast, seismic smash, etc)
