    How badly...

Aside from totally new mechanic/set types, which I have no intention of getting into, I would enjoy:

    Henchmen/Control
    Melee/Support
    Blast/Armor

Re: Control/Armor... I could see certain combinations working (Fire Control/Fiery Aura might even be kinda badass) but most of them would be sloooooooooow soloers.

Were you trying to make some kind of point with this comment? None of my posts in this thread have been complaints, and the development team has been known to accept player suggestions in the past.

    News to me! Hah.

One that a lot of people don't seem to realize: Paragon City<->Rogue Isles travel is much easier using the Rikti Warzone Vanguard Base portals (Atlas Park, Founders Falls, Peregrine Island; Cap au Diable, St. Martial, Grandville) and the Midnight Club (Steel Canyon, Croatoa, Founders Falls; Cap au Diable) than the Independence Port<->Sharkhead Island submarine. Pocket D also works as a transfer zone but connects to less useful places Hero side.
  4. Gotta agree with all the people who want either better ways to manage KB or KB converted into KD/KU, ESPECIALLY in Solar Flare.

Giving PBAOEs a KB component is just vindictive.

For my other two I'll also be lazy and /sign onto more developed ideas: toggle suppression and the Photon Seekers remake.
  5. Note that, when teaming, pets are going to be a much worse choice as targets for Temporal Selection than other players due to their low base damages. Blasters, Scrappers, Dominators, and Soldiers of Arachnos are your priority targets for +damage.

Trip mine doesn't really get use in my situation, as I don't want SS for toe-bombing and I hadn't realized until too late that you can't put interrupt in it. That seems like an obvious omission to me, by the way.
Building around these constraints (noted that I'm ignoring Superior ATOs as "purples" since enhancement catalysts aren't super hard to get), what I would ultimately do would be:

Trip Mine isn't very useful without slotting. Replaced with Web Cocoon.

If you decided later to invest into a couple choice expensive enhancements, I'd replace the Blood Mandate A/D in Bruiser with the Soulbound CFBU and move one of the Recharge from Gang War into Triage Beacon and replace it with a Panacea proc.

You could also move a Recharge into Web Cocoon and replace it with the Lockdown PPM proc (which will be all procs soon) for a very high chance of mag 5 hold (which I personally would do, I don't use Gang War often enough to notice 10-20 seconds shaved off the recharge time with a high global recharge build).

The most important of the changes here is that I would never, ever skip the Pet Resist/Defense IOs. They just make too big a difference in pet survival. The radii on these auras is actually 40 feet, not 20, which is much more reliable than counting on your pets to stay in the FFG. They're also +5% BASE defense and +10% Res(All), despite what the descriptions say.

Does Power Boost transfer to traps pets?
I do not believe so, but I have never personally tested it.

    Quote:
Also, wouldn't you build a bots/traps the same way or no?
Roughly, but Bots/Traps needs less personal defense because of the Protector Bot shield, which leaves more room for Recharge bonuses and procs.

  8. Requiring the player giving their tokens out to be a VIP = Profit in subscription fees.

Major Quality of Life improvement for groups of real-life family and friends joining the game = Profit in new customers.

I'm personally glad an armor set won. It's been a loooooong time since we've gotten a new one (Shield Defense in Issue 13, 3 and a half years ago). I'm somewhat less happy that the one that got picked was Radiation Armor, which shares a lot of concept space with Symbiotic Armor.

It shouldn't matter in terms of profits who is redeeming Reward Tokens, they're still being paid for.
  12. The guy at the Player Summit asking about trading tokens between his two accounts made me realize that this idea is brilliant.

I was just shy of Tier 9 when Freedom launched, and after ten months worth of buying goodies, I have reward tokens coming out my eyeballs.

Let me give my excess tokens away. My fiancée would be giddy if she suddenly had Celestial Armor when logging in one day, and I'm sure there are plenty of people with multiple accounts who'd love the feature, too.

It could even be limited to T9 VIPs as another feature of the subscription, and as a method of preventing exploitative behavior with low-tier VIP Bundle accounts or other similar things being created for their tokens.

Probots appear to buff the nearest valid target to them first most of the time. This isn't really a big issue either since their buffs last so long. If you meant the heal... they can only target other robotics pets with that.

Then there's the non-responsive Henchmen bug. I am unable to dismiss them, even by the command line. Again, what would a Brute say if all their strong attacks (and 2/3 their HP) just randomly stopped working? Yeah, and zoning MIGHT fix it.... Or not.

  16. They're not worth slotting for heal even if that's true, if you're going to slot them for a secondary effect, go for defense.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not seeing the -tohit debuffs, area rez, and better healing being a match to that.

There are already plenty of people that feel Time is overpowered as is, you're not likely to find many that agree with the idea of buffing it.

Yes, I am. Those numbers are still significantly greater than the old IOs you could aquire in-game. If you're upset because you paid real money so you could be overpowered, and don't let the weight of this miss you, I not only feel no mercy for you, I feel you deserve it.

SBOs were never supposed to be unilaterally superior to the in-game enhancements, and the fact that you and others decided to abuse their status is a large part of the reason for the mechanical changes.

The fact that you also didn't see it coming a mile away that flat rate IOs were eventually going to be made into PPMs just shows a lack of foresight on your part.

I just checked out of curiosity what my FM/SD Scrapper's attacks would look like post-changes.

Cremate with 66.25% +Recharge and a Mako proc will have a 39% chance to proc.
Incinerate with 96.4% Recharge and a Mako proc will have a 42% chance to proc.
Greater Fire Sword with 89.9%% Recharge and a Hecatomb and Mako proc will have 81% and 54% chances to proc, respectively
Fire Sword Circle with 89.9% Recharge and an Armageddon and Obliteration proc will have 58% and 39% chances to proc, respectively
Shield Charge with 89.9% Recharge and an Obliteration proc will have a capped 90% chance to proc (uncapped chance of 94%).

Those ST attacks have 8+1.5, 10+1.67, and 12+2.33 base cycle times respectively.
FSC is 20+2.67s base with a 10' radius.
Shield Charge is something of an anomaly with it's 90+1.5s cycle time, yes, but it still has a 20 foot radius and it's a capped proc chance at 90% enhanced recharge.

If you're using IO procs, you're very unlikely to lose proc chance in all but the most ridiculous cases, and as you can see, even on a pretty standard set of attacks enhanced pretty heavily for recharge, you'll probably gain substantially.
If you're using SBO procs and are upset about numbers like that, you need to get a grip.
  21. Based on the numbers we've been seeing so far, only the most egregious outliers are going to actually be nerfed, Kyriani.

Sonic might be more beneficial to a team though due to the -res affecting all the players.
The relatively trivial personal DPS difference on a Defender will be way, way, way more than outdone on a team by Sonic's stacking -20% res on every attack.

In response to the OP: The only Blast sets I would ever bother to play on a Defender are Sonic and Ice, unless you're building for concept. Anything else and I'd be looking at a Corruptor instead.

As has been mentioned, Sonic on a Defender has insane -resist debuffs, and Ice has two holds and both of it's rain powers (Ice Storm and the Tier 9, Blizzard) do full Blaster-level damage.
  23. DreadShinobi covered this one pretty well.

If you want to play much if any of the endgame content I'd go with a Fire/Cold Corruptor. Fire Blast is a strong enough primary to carry you through the leveling process (plus teams are always looking for support anyway), and Fire/Cold will be leaps and bounds more powerful at 50.
  24. This is going to get complicated quickly because certain sets perform better paired with different Defenses and on different ATs.

That said, I can pretty much tell you Titan Weapons is king of the heap now for damage on all 3 ATs that can get it.

    Potential complications to consider:
Stalkers have different power lineups. Their ST attack chains are all also different because of Assassin's Strike.

Ignoring Stalkers, any weapon that can be paired with Shield Defense is going to do the most damage when paired with that, on a Scrapper, and any weapon that can't is probably going to do the most damage when paired with Fiery Aura, on a Brute.

Tankers often skip their tier 2 attack even if it's better than the tier 1, because they're forced into the tier 1.

I believe, at some point a long time ago, BillZBubba endeavored to compile a spreadsheet of the optimal DPS of every melee set on Brutes and Scrappers, but I have no idea if he completed it or maintains it. You might try PMing him.
  25. The Celestial Wings finished a couple characters for me.
