    Newspapers? For heroes?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't see the newspaper working quite so well for us...

'I see in the paper that the bank was robbed yesterday. If only I'd been there in time to do something about it.'

Nah, a police radio or something of that ilk is a much better idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, I think the newspaper missions will work much better for heroes.

'The gem of Obidoby was stolen from the Paragon museum! From the description of the crime scene, you notice the tell tale signs of The Circle of Thorns handiwork! You have heard rumours of some activity in a CoT hideout, and decide to investigate to see if there is any connection!'

'You read about a certain neighbourhood that has recently been taken over by a gang of Hellions, lead by the ruthless Cinderfella. You decide to go clean up the streets by putting these thugs behind bars.'
  2. Just to point out, given that ED will reduce the amount of defence a SR can get, this can only really be called a buff if the net result is better than what SRs already have. Otherwise its a nerf, or a best, a change.

Also, not really sure how useful it'll be. My SR has happily sat in the red for minutes, slowly letting his health build up whilst fighting. Its the times that you health just disapears in 1-3 big hits that all happen at once that is the problem.

But, I guess we will have to wait and see how it works out.
  3. Bye Bye Gilgy. Thanks for all the work you have put in and all the fun articles. Best of luck in everything you do in the future. You'll be missed
  4. Bah, yeah right. Now all of his fact gathering is complete, Jackson is returning the Rogue Isles, donning his helmet and mechanical arms and preparing to unleash his Arachnos hordes upon an unsuspecting world.

    Come on !

The JLA has a base in space with lots of high tech stuff, and they don't even have a SG uniform !

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, having watched JLU, they farm prestige by having all the 100s of technicians and menial staff wearing that rubbish uniform all the time.

EDIT: Oh, and I tooo am against datamining for things that were completely unimportant. Doesn't seem fair. And, if they are going to do this they should change how the supergroup mode works, so that it just lets each member design their own new SG costume. (rather than recolouring their current one).

However, I like the idea of prestige for the rent for a SG base, and maybe use influence to buy all the cool stuff to go in it
  6. Extra, Extra Read all about it!

A nice little piece about one of the I5 events.
  7. 1) I am very interested in the network of machinations created by Lord Recluse's Organisation, but wish I could learn more. Is there, perchance, an information source or document, either existing or forthcoming, which will help enlighten me?

    2) Which of the CoH villain groups do you consider the most interesting to create stories for?

    3) What story arc/TF/Missions are you particularly proud of?

4)Do you have any particular favourite ATs that you like to play as?
  8. May I ask a question? (I don't have a character with the right set up to test this)

If you are travelling through a zone/mission, using stealth to avoid aggroing the baddies (a fairly common usage for the powers), and a sniper or other high perception badguy spots you and takes a potshot, for the next 10 seconds all badguys you run/jump/fly in range of will see you and aggro?

That doesn't sound like a particularly fun change, to me.
  9. I think 'entangling arrow' really needs...something to make it stand out as a power worth taking. Personally, I feel a modest cone, so you can net 2-3 badguys at once, maybe with a little knockback too would help the power. It would make it more useful, as well as adding the feel of the power.
  10. I haven't had chance to test them all fully yet, but great job expanding the content of missions.

However, I would also like to add my voice to the 'No Quantums/Voids in waves' vote. That really is unfair, and uncalled for.

  12. Golly old chap, that is a right pickle, and no mistake, guv'nor. Just keep a stiff upper lip, drink your tea in the correct manner, and make sure your crumpets are properly toasted.

    hehe

OK, seriously now. most of the language is pretty much the same, just a few differences.

Cures words: Go for Bloody or Bugger (hopes the filter lets those through).

In context 'Those Bloody demons tore my best cape!' *when viewing a room full of +6 maltas* 'Bugger that, I'm off'

Also, throw in the odd 'Brilliant' to mean good.

Other things to get correct are the different names for things

    Elevators become Lifts
    Car hoods are Car bonnets
    Car trunks are Car boots
    sidewalk becomes pavement
    cell phones become mobile phones
    Pants become Trousers
Underpants become pants and Panties become knickers (of course how much use you get out of these ones depends on what you are RPing )

Also, try spelling things correctly (hehe) by putting extra 'u's into things, and using ise instead of ize at the end of words.

thats all I can think of at the moment
  13. Yep... been here since Beta, and hope to be here til the servers are switched off (or the cows finally take their world back, whichever happens first).

The game has brought me togetehr with so many wonderful people, and given me many strong friendships. Thanks very much to everyone involved both in the making and the playing of the game.

In an effort to collect more data, police officers have begun calling upon their usual sources within the city’s criminal underground.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seriously, the police aren't calling on this at all, considering whenever underground criminal elements approach them, they run like little girls. No wonder they don't have any information for these so-called contacts. Sounds like a smoke screen to cover their hides, giving the appearance that they are doing something... when we all know what the real story is.

Look! There goes one now, running away from the bad guys. Sheesh.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe, that is all an elaberate ruse so they can talk to their informants without giving the game away. if they just walked up to them to talk it would look suspicious, so maybe that arm flailing run they do is a kind of semaphore?

I just wish you would get there too late and have to follow him through the portal...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd actually asked about that when I was writing it. Just too much new art and not enough time to get it done, unfortunately.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to say I didn't enjoy it that way it is mind, just would have been nice to fight some retro badguys. Obviously, it would be unfeasible for just the one mission, but maybe in the future...

    Other things:

Actually, you get your first mention relating to Axis Americana in your early 30s, there's a timed mission to stop some 5th bigwig from accessing the dimension.

And, I agree the Ubelmann souvie is really cool, but for maximum effect you have to imagine it read out by Paul Lynde (Uncle Arthur from Bewitched and The hooded Claw from Penelope pitstop), complete with evil laugh at the end...
