Honestly, with your system I don't think it matters whether it has 1, 3, or OVER NINE THOUSAND GB of RAM. Your CPU and GPU are what's really hamstringing you. Well, that and your arrogant insistence that your computer is good enough to play this game.

96 C is way too hot for a Core 2 at stock settings. I'd guess the CPU cooked the motherboard (and perhaps the motherboard made that happen). My first guess is that your CPU was getting massively overvolted somehow, and... yeah, that would be the motherboard's fault.

If you want to use my character in the picture with Miz Nibbles, go right ahead. Preferably with me giving her a wedgie.

If you want to do one for me, I would prefer to be evicerating Nemesis (as in the AV). After all, he's the only AV out there when all is said and done.

I know shipping returns are normally a [censored], but Newegg is really good about taking care of their customers in that regard. I've never paid shipping for defective products I've returned to them. Not once. They'll even give you a shipping label for you to print out.

Well, one additional possible problem is that it requires a 450W PSU where the 9400 only requires 350W. Although, several major manufacturers computers have been known to ship with smaller PSU's than this. Even fairly recently.

Since I haven't seen any mention of what size PSU you have, it's pure conjecture on my part as to whether or not your PSU is beefy enough for either of these.

It'll get you 60 FPS in Solitaire. Beyond that, you need something that's actually considered a gaming card. And I can't see the card on the link you posted, but I'd bet you're getting ripped off for the card, since it's Staples. A 9400 is worth about $40.

Assuming you want keep the POS HP case, I would look at the Asus M3A76 or something similar. If you would rather reassemble the PC in a new case using existing parts, you have a lot more options (with the motherboard as well as with any future upgrades).

I would guess that the game will play reasonably well at max settings with such a setup. Again, your problem at that point will be your CPU, not your graphics card. The 9800GT definitely has the horsepower for max settings, though.

You might have just triggered another "Super Strength Tanker vs. [Insert Scrapper Primary Here]" debate, but in short, SS doesn't really stack up numerically to most of the better STDPS Scrapper sets by quite a margin (at least, that was the conclusion of the last one of these debates). The secondary control effects are what make Super Strength shine IMHO, much like Stone Melee.

Not the issue.

Upon trying to republish a mission arc, I still disconnect, and then cannot get past the server selection screen. Restarting the client does not help. No other bandwidth-intensive applications are running across my entire network. The only thing that seems to work is completely restarting my computer and then logging back in.

I'll poke around and see if I can nail down what specifically the issue is.

I left some feedback for you on the UHB forums about the build itself, but if your attack chain is Hack -> Disembowel -> Headsplitter, where's the Parry you're spamming? You need to to figure out the exact, complete order of the attacks and other powers you use before the chain repeats itself completely, then you can start analyzing how to improve it. You might find the DPS calculator I have linked in my signature (under "guides and calculators") to be useful if you're up for a bit of number crunching.

Katana will still be up on top of the heap in terms of DPS in quite a few situations, at least according to the number's I've come up with, although it's never that far in front of or behind Dark Melee. I think the problem, which was rather ineloquently brought to light by BillzBubba's comparison threads recently, is that people take the calculated DPS or the tested in-game DPS to define some Scrapper primaries in their entirety, and this is simply not the case - the rest of your build and the situation at hand can make all the difference in the world.

On your problems with Miss Liberty, a steady diet of red inspirations is probably sufficient. Broadsword, especially on the lower end of the budget spectrum, does rather mediocre DPS to begin with, but what attack chain are you using? Optimizing that might give you the edge as well.
