    Ahhh good days lol.

    Also got an entire 8 man team that way including tanks. They were all huddled together in Sirens so stalkers couldn't get them. Noticed the blaster had set up a nice trap and fired off the temp confuse on my stalker and watched them go up in smoke .

    Pre i13 confuse caused your selection to flick from an enemy to an ally, opposed to who you selected initially. So on a Confused Blaster, a selected Corruptor would have a blue selection and other blasters would have the orange one.

    Tabbing flicked between them as normal but it also randomly flicked to the orange targets too.

    This was a great way of having a confuse effect, now they have guffed PvP confuse means you cannot attack, at all.

    I think there was an incident recorded on fraps for you tube showing a blaster confused in RV running to Atlas Park and hitting AIM, BU, Nova all the RP'ers. Resulted in a few bans but i bet that was the funniest thing to see in PvP/Pve.

    Nah, with 2 x PbAoe +Endurance powers with 55sec intervals, thats 1 every 28.5 seconds.

    Twilight Grasp - Ranged, Foe -Accuracy -Damage, Team Heal
    Take this, it is a very strong heal and one of your main powers Pve or PvP

    Tar Patch - Ranged Targeted area of effect, Target -Speed, -Resistance, -Fly
    Cracking power to start causing some damage, the –res is very nice but getting players to stand still long enough to use it will be your issue

    Darkest Night - 2 4 Toggle: Ranged Targeted area of effect, Foe -Damage, Foe –Accuracy
    Pretty much one of the main debuffs as you will be aware in PvE, Pve is no different, in fact Elusivity even after the i14 nerf will cause this to be very effective

    Howling Twilight - Ranged Targeted area of effect, Minor damage (Negative), Target Slow, -Recharge, Disorient, Ally resurrect
    PvE power, ignore it.

    Shadow Fall - Toggle: Point blank area of effect, Team Stealth, +Defense (All), +Resistance (Energy, Negative, Psionics, Fear)
    Stacked with a Stealth IO in Run/Jump/fly etc this power gives you invisibility without the use of stealth(-spd) and also gives some res, perhaps slot with Knockback IO? But check the res figures, psi res might be a nice extra)

    Fearsome Stare - Ranged (Cone), Foe Fear, -Accuracy
    Holds aren’t what they used to be, but Fear can hold someone long enough to drop your tar patch, personally I would go with some range on this if you can fit it in

    Petrifying Gaze- Ranged Hold
    [/i] Again, holds aren’t what they used to be, and the animation on this one I always found to be quite long[/i]

    Black Hole - Ranged Targeted area of effect, Foe Intangible
    You cannot kill or debuff a target in a different dimension from yourself, skip this unless you want it for a “OMG that hurt stop hitting me” type power, personally I think you would be better to Darkest night asap, then heal.

    Dark Servant - Summon Dark Servant: Ranged Debuff Special
    Take any extra help you can get!, Stacks your own efforts too, def take this.

    Dark Blast - Ranged, Moderate Damage (Negative), Foe: -Accuracy
    Gloom would be better but this is a must being 1st power in your secondary tree, Moderate Damage and –Acc, not all bad

    Gloom - Ranged, High Damage over Time(Negative), Foe: -Accuracy
    Single target, High DoT… must you ask? (take it!)

    Moonbeam - Sniper, Extreme Damage(Negative), Foe: -Accuracy
    Typically snipes don’t perform in PvP, not for defenders who lack Aim+Buildup anyway, Skip

    Dark Pit - Ranged, Area of Effect, Foe: Disorient
    Not ideal, Stuns don’t last that long in PvP and to get into the AoE would be more hassle than it was worth, Skip

    Tenebrous Tentacles - Ranged(Cone), Minor Damage over Time(Negative), Foe: Immobilize, -Accuracy
    Immobilize is super in PvP, especially for toons who only have Jump as a travel, also helps you drop tar pach on them, use this and love it, even though the animation sux

    Night Fall - Ranged(Cone), Moderate Damage over Time(Negative), Foe: -Accuracy
    Another sturdy DoT power, stack with Gloom for loads of ticks, Dark lacks Burst damage, so keep the DoTs going as much as you can

    Torrent - Ranged(Cone), Minor Damage (Negative), Foe: Knockback
    Knockback, and only Minor damage, I’d leave this

    Life Drain - Ranged, Minor Damage (Negative), Self: Heal, Foe: -Accuracy
    OMG I love this power, damage always seems ok, self heal with small animation time, low end cost, use it as part of your attack chain and use Twighlight Grasp to heal in emergency- I love this power

    Black star - Point Blank Area of Effect, Extreme Damage(Negative), Self: -Recovery, Foe: -Accuracy
    Situational, nukes leave you vulnerable, but this one is your choice I guess

    [u]Epic Choice [u]

    I would be inclined to go for Power Master, so I have details those powers below

    Conserve Power - Self Endurance Discount
    Always handy, good to ensure you can blast away to your hearts content or until your opponent is dead, whichever comes first, downtime is time they can heal and also hit back

    Power Build Up - Self +Damage, +Accuracy, +Special
    Recharge is slower than is Ideal, but in PvP +Dmg+Acc and +Effects to Fear, and –Acc is all good stuff

    Temp Invulnerability - Self +Resistance (smashing, lethal)
    This will fill the hole that Shadow fall misses, nice not to be too squishy, gives you the chance to use your 2 Heals

    Total Focus - Melee, Extreme Damage (Energy/Smash), Foe Disorient
    SUPER power, take this… With PowerBuildUp and –Res from Tar Patch this is going to Hurt!, make sure the latest you take this power is lvl 47 so that there is enough slots to 6 slot it.

    Don’t have the time just now to go into Tactics but I hope this gives a helping hand into powers to use in PvP.

    Ok so I looked again at builds last night for my new project, and I was quite impressed at the figures on Dark Armour, High Res' across the board including psi and with Tough S/L hits about 71%.

    But I have decided to go with Fire / Dark / Fire, the overall benefits are better and i'm sure that it will be more of a players tank than an afk tank.
    (chance to prove myself in a new archetype ;P)

    Can anyone take the afore posted build and fine tune it, or have I pretty much cracked it

    Possibly swapping Melt Armour for either Blazing Aura, or Taunt?

    I have a toon with about 50 Io's I want for my new project, now I can either do the Trial 5 times, or pay 20 - 30 Million for the respec IO x 5 just to get the IO's I've already paid for!!!

    Thats an extra 150 Million transferring fee + time to do it all!

    I think that it's because our toons can only carry 10 ench at any one time, so could I counter suggest that they be removable without respecing at a suitable Npc for a (reasonable) fee.

    Was looking into other avenues for the Ultimate godmode tank, how does this look?

    compared to granite tank?

    Not super high res, but I have 2x heals, 1 every 12s and 1 every 4s.

    And 2 x +Endurance, 2 every 55s and

    2 x Damage and to hit boosts.

    Pretty proud of the build so what you think ?

    Would Invul with Impervium Armour IO's 6 slotted in 5 res powers not give a good overall res to all inc psi?

    I'll be using TP as my main and only power. Happy with this as I am looking for an immovable force theme type Tank.

    Got a good build, but seems to be nothing I can do about Psi Damage :/

    Again, Main Question from thread was,

    Is there a tougher to kill build? Would i be better with WP or Invul?

    Ye def going for Perma Granite, Dark would make it just that little bit more silly difficult to kill... Soul drain is a nice +Dmg+Tohitt, however akk my tanks have been SS so i dare say that I'd miss Rage.

    However i was quite worried about, Rage Crash, End Crash drop outta Grantie and become flying mince infront of a 7 man team of blaster and defenders that could have taken more damage xD

    So /Dark is becoming very appealing.

    Pretty much will become an exercise in penalty reduction i guess.

    So i was really looking forward to my first ITF after my ICE/SS tank hit 50 and I had spent 700Million on a few essentials.

    1st mob, Hoarfrost, Energy Adsorption, Taunt.... "What happened next"?

    You got it, 0-Faceplant in about 8-9 seconds.

    Feeling very very put out.

    SO,
    I was wanting to remake another tank, and I want the "IAMTEHUBER NUFINHURTSME" feeling.

    And I was considering Stone / Dark / Stone

    My reasoning behind this was,

    1) Forever in Granite+Rooted+Mudpots,
    2) PbAoe Endurance + +HP Attack!
    3) Aoes for after Soul Drain

    Can anyone give me some advice on how to create a tank that truly feels like it would take a small country to bring it to it's knees?

    P.s - If there is a better set than Stone/Dark for survivability please also include.

    I have 5 Sets of Doctored wound in my Heal powers,

    Healing Aura
    Heal Other
    Adsorb Pain
    Health
    Siphon Life
    ...

    Have considered dropping 1 DW from each of the 1st 3 to take a Range IO.

    Don't know how beneficial it would be tho.
    Maybe something that I will consider when creating a Cold Defender looks to be on the cards.

    I have been working on my Emp and I like to think that out of all of my toons this is the one that I feel most accomplished at using, can only hope that my team mates to be will think the same.

    Although i am now thinking that another Def Roll would be more popular in a team, nothing makes you fell better than hearing when you join a new team "w00t ! a "?" Defender!"

    I am used to the "?" being Emp, do you all think that empaths are being overtaken by other sets??

    Empathy

    I have recenntly swicthed from controller Empath to defender.

    With a full IO'd build on my

    Mind/Emp/Primal - Psienchantress

    Had spent about 1.2 Billion on her, choosing Doctored Wound sets over numina in Heal Aura, Heal Other, Absorb Pain, Adrenalin Boost and Regeneration Aura, 2 Full purples sets in Power Blast and Terrify plus about 3 or 4 LotG +rech.

    Pretty much wanted very strong heals and recharge.

    However standard defenders healing more than i did with SO builds finally got the better of me and I am swapping the majority of my IO's into a Defender version.

    I took Dark Blast as the variation in Attacks allows me to fit 5 full purple sets as well as everything else I had before, 0.3sec from permanent hasten now with 175% Recharge.

    Anyhow, Pools I took...

    [b]FLY[b/]
    Hover (to accept a LotG +global recharge)
    Fly (Birds eye view of the battlefield reduces the chance of "target Blocked" when you require that last min heal

    [CONCEALMENT]
    Stealth (coupled with Stealth IO you can heal from invisibility, don't attack and you don't break hide, this also accepts LotG +global recharge)
    Grant invisibility (Gives +defense bonus to forted team members, allows you to create a whole team of ghosters, and this also accepts LotG +global recharge)

    SPEED

    Hasten (This is a no brainer)

    FITNESS

    Swift (Increases fly speed)
    Health (Accepts Numina +regen +recover IO and Miracle +recovery)
    Stamina (Again a no brainer, take it, don't think about it)
