Bye Niv. Good luck on everything you do!

Insignificant mediation between the OP and the detractors that gets ignored by everyone.

Corn On Macabre
A sentient stalk of genetically engineered corn turned eco-terrorist; he's a vehement carnivore who cheerfully describes the mass execution of "meatlings" as "pest control". He's (understandably) angry that human beings eat his fellow corn on a regular basis, but absolutely furious that every year, millions of his people are cut down, boiled/fried in oil/microwaved/etc, and eaten purely as a side dish that most humans cannot even effectively digest.

It had a dual purpose of being both ironic and a preemptive.

If it was going to be this big of a deal, I don't think the vBulletin developers would've designed this plug-in four years ago. Yes, things can go wrong with new things. However, that's true for just about everything.
To the CoX Forum Admins and Moderators:
I apologize that this caused a 'to do' with others on the board. I just wanted something nice for everyone. -

Quote:Normally there are guards against that, yes.Quote:No. Because the forums already use tables as part of the layout.
And, badly used, can completely break the forums. All it takes is one unclosed tag to screw it up.
Namely, I could [.QUOTE]do something like this[/QUTE] and forget a letter and it would ignore it because I didn't close off the tag. -

I know that HTML is bad juju for a forum like this.
I've moderated boards in the past enough to know that putting up with the a##hattery of trolls can get more than tiresome.
I was wondering if there could be some custom "BB code" created to facilitate what the HTML code would do in this instance, without the hazards that straight HTML can bring.
Basically, it's TABLES for signatures.
Example:
[table][tr][td][.LEFT][.img]small image[./img][./LEFT][/td]
[td][.RIGHT][.img]small image[./img][./RIGHT][/td][/tr][/table]
OR
[table][tr][td][.LEFT][.img]small image[./img][./LEFT][/td]
[td][.CENTER][.img]small image[./img][./CENTER][/td]
[td][.RIGHT][.img]small image[./img][./RIGHT][/td][/tr][/table]
Translating Table HTML code into BB code shouldn't break anything in a perfect world. While I've been known to be wrong on more than one occasion, I've seen other boards use this in the past to great effect.
If you take a look at my current signature as an example, you can tell that the images are offset on different lines and "thicker" than it could be with this code put into play.
The end result would be shorter height signatures, which in my opinion would be golden for everyone.
Thank you for your time and attention.

Quote:I thought about that. But with the entire spectrum having a corresponding ring now, I figured it was kind've redundant. *shrugs*Well, if you are going for a COH tribute to Green Lantern, I would probably go with a different color altogether to avoid getting generic-ed.
Quote:You might also consider other language words for Green, like Verde in Spanish, which is the base for Verdant.
Verdant is a pretty cool name by itself but you can add something before or after -- Captain Verdant, Verdant Man, Verdant Defender, etc
Thanks dude! -
While this is On Topic with the thread title, it's completely unrelated to the content of the thread.
Anyone ever want to officially join a canon faction, where you cannot attack them and they don't attack you? -
Is it bad that I've been playing since the original beta, and have NO IDEA what a "Purple Drop" is?
-
I've always had trouble coming up with alternatives to the word Green, but the Thesaurus is no help there.
Emerald and Jade are the only ones that I can think of. But to me, they seem more feminine than masculine. Other words seem to be plant related, but was going for the 'willpower ring' concept... and concept as opposed to a complete ripoff.
Any ideas? -
Actually, I think the biggest problem some have is with how the game doesn't port a screenshot from the Creation screen. (Initial character creation, or Icon/Facemaker).
REQUEST TO THE DEVS:
Can you please enable the screenshot functionality in the costume creation/editor... please?
Screengrabs from that section are tricky for those unfamiliar with editing photos or dealing with MSPaint.
To do so, you simply hit the "Print Screen" button, then switch to your editor (Photoshop, GIMP, MSPaint, whatever) and paste the image.
Sometimes you have to create a new image... in that case, the screen dimensions should port over from the system cache that you just grabbed the screen from. (In my case, 1600x1200)
Once you have the new image open, paste the "Print Screen" by either hitting "Ctrl+V" or going to "Edit - Paste".
From there, you should be able to crop the image to whichever part you were trying to get. More often than not, your Character.
Save the image as either a jpg, or a png. (jpg is smaller in file size)
Hosting the image for forum use entails going to either Imageshack, Photobucket, or whatever image hosting you prefer. Once you've hosted it, grab the url for the image and place [.img][./img] tags around it in your thread reply message... without the periods in the brackets.
: - : - : - : WINDOWS VISTA USERS TAKE NOTE : - : - : - :Print screen may not always work. And it's a royal pain about it.
There's a clippy program thing that you can get to make screenshots, or you can do like I do.
- Open notepad.
- Make it relatively small and have it be on top of your game screen.
- With Notepad being the active window, hit Print Screen and go to your image editor and paste it.
(Which is why you make it small and move it out of the way of what you're trying to grab.)
Hope this helps folks. -
Honestly, the thread title made me think of that quote. lol
