The title says it all.

What are/were some of your favorite exploration badges and why?

The title? The text or story behind it? The hidden location? Favorite spot?

I want to know. Would also be cool if people posted screenshots or links from the wiki of said badge or badges.

My understanding is it is in its beta stage with players who have bought the game able to play on live servers. After testing a mac edition will be released with I assume most of the wrinkles ironed out.

Again this is only a informational post. I'm not telling you to buy the game, my opinion of it or NCsoft. Just letting mac players know who don't feel like paying 90 dollars or more for a windows license on top of the cost of another game.

Anyone else play on mac? Any other mac users looking for another MMO but finding your options limited and pretty lackluster?

Great to see some support for the idea and its been duly noted that the Statesman angle is not that popular.

So with that I will be updating the first post and asking for suggestions for a name for the event. Date for the event is also tentative.

Please feel free to comment with a suggestion for what you think is a good name for this thing or if you'd like to see this event happen.

Honestly the title was tentative and an obvious play on The Million Man March, calling it a parade is a great idea with the idea being unity and not protesting.I could lose the whole Statesman theme and cc as well, i remember there being great confusion about the dev cc during the rally.

I was thinking along the same lines as you with the zoning, with league leaders all communicating and cordianting in a global channel such as Save Coh or possible a new one.

I know it would be a crazy amount of coordination but imagine if we did pull it off. And imagine if we did get the same turn out as the Unity Rally: a rolling wave of 33 zone instances. That would definitely have NCsoft or who ever is maning the servers stand up and take notice.

I was thinking of a player event that would show off our fine city and possibly draw some much needed attention to our plight.

Here's a rough outline of the idea:
I was thinking of a march from Atlas Park to Peregrine Island.
Players would start the event in Atlas Park with as many players as possible forming into leagues and then at the start of the event walk (using the macro or not?) from Atlas to Steel Canyon to Independence Port to Kings Row to Skyway to Talos Island and then all board the Ferry to Peregrine Island and then march to the front of Portal Corp. Along the way showcasing our great city and creating several instances of each zone. At each zone players would coordinate their locations over the global channels to ensure all participants keep a similar pace. This would also allow latecomers to find our march and join.
Once at Portal Corp we would zone back to Atlas in whatever fashion we choose for a massive get together celebration.

The zone order: AP-> SC->IP->KR->Sky->TI->PI-->AP
Shorter loop: AP->Sky->TI->PI-->AP

Possible Date and Time: September 30th Sunday at 3:00 p.m. EST*

Needed:
Name - We need a name for this thing suggestions?
Coordinators – to coordinate the league or leagues for each zone instance preferably 50’s with Incandescence (incase people get stuck and to keep us together) since we will be entering higher-level zones.
Volunteers – to lead individual teams, again preferably a 50 with a mass teleport power.
People - Participation from as many people from as many servers as possible. Bring that level 1 or other charter you made for the Rally, with enough volunteers it should be fine. Stocking up on purples or awakies for others or low level characters though would be a good idea since this will be a peaceful march, well maybe we’ll do a bit of street sweeping on the way.
Server - since players from other servers have already made toons on Virtue I would suggest making use of this server again.

I know the sky is falling but i have an odd request. Could anyone throw together a good looking SO-only stj/nin stalker build and post the export here, i play on a mac. Travel-power and Epic pool-wise I'm not too picky but he's natural origin and stuck blue-side if that helps.

The reason i ask here is because my sub had lapsed in anticipation of i24 which i guess we'll never see. Anyway i found myself locked out all 5 of my tier 4, IO'd out, lv 50's, who were sadly each holding 2 Bil. The only toon of mine which wasn't locked was Dropwing a lvl 36 stj/nin stalker on Virtue. With no way to re-sub I'm afraid i'll never play my old toons again, or IO/Incarnate out this one, but I still intend to play for the remaining months and level Dropwing to 50.

Anyway thanks for reading and to anyone who responds.

Vindicators: (Aurora Borealis, Infernal, Luminary, Ms. Liberty, Mynx, Swan, Valkyrie, Woodsman)

Blanket Why: All of the following redesigns fall under a Gaslamp Fantasy redesign. What is Gaslamp Fantasy?

Long Answer: Generally, the term refers to fiction based in a Victorian-style setting, similar to steampunk, but with a broader emphasis. The stories are usually not so focused on machinery of the period (or, often, any machinery at all), take more liberties with the actual time period, and may contain elements of other genres.

Short Answer: Yeah kinda like Steampunk

Because City of Heroes exists in a setting with other dimensions there doesn't have to be an alternative time line just imagine the following are from a Gaslamp Fantasy Earth. Since I have the general why for the costume designs I will also be posting a short bio instead of the Why for each Vindicator, the bio will also help explain costume design choices hopefully.

Aurora Borealis:


Bio: Captain Calvin Scott’s expedition to Antarctica ended in disaster the night the crew reached its icy shores. Standing aboard the deck of the Mayhem the captain, his wife Aurora, and the crew witnessed strange lights in the sky. Gazing at the colorful lights the witnesses began to hear voices. The experience ended the voyage and was responsible for committing most of the crew, Aurora’s beloved as well, to various asylums. You see the voices did not stop when the crew had returned home they had only intensified. Separated from her husband Aurora began travailing again as a fortuneteller dressed in the colors of the lights that had changed her life forever.

Infernal:

Bio: K'Varr D'Shall is better known as Infernal a strongman in the Crimson Lotus, a stunning traveling circus. He claims his incredible strength comes from the many tattoos that adorn his body and even the back of his head. Before his stint in the circus Infernal was a nameless mental patient who alleged he came from an alternate earth where demons were bound into tattoos. He escaped however to search for his enchanted battle-axe that was lost when he was drawn through a dimensional rip into this world.

Luminary:

Bio: Luminary was built by Lord Keyes as the ultimate wedding present for his dear friend Lord Rafter. Luminary was modeled after Jeanette, the bride to be, and possessed the same amazing powers as the groom. However the Rafters have recently returned Luminary after she began developing a strong personality one similar to Lady Jeanette’s. Keyes has performed many tests on the automaton but has not determined the cause of this or why the android now refers to him as “father”.

Ms. Liberty:

Bio: Jessica Megan Duncan, who goes by her middle name Megan, is the granddaughter and daughter of heroes from the Revolution. Her extended family also includes her grand-uncle Stefan Richter, more commonly known as Lord Recluse. Wanting to step out of the shadow of her grandfather she has forged a path of heroism for herself. She believes that her Great Uncle, Lord Recluse, can be redeemed. This core belief in redemption is what led Ms. Liberty to create the Vindicators supergroup.

Mynx:

Bio: Katherine Stevens was a young girl in the wrong place at the wrong time. While attending Paragon University she was abducted by a cabal of mad scientists and injected with a volatile serum transforming Katherine, giving her some feline features and characteristics. After escaping she adopted the identity of Mynx, a cat burglar, to support herself while she lived on the streets of Paragon City for a time.

Swan:

Bio: Lena Elliot was touched by magic from the moment she was born on the Vernal Equinox. Her mother was a powerful mystic and her father a brilliant inventor. Shortly after her 21st birthday, Lena’s parents were attacked by one of several groups who wanted their abilities and inventions to themselves. During this battle Lena lashed out with her psychic abilities, stunning many of the villains. However in the end Lena’s parents were taken. Soon after using her newly discovered powers and the aid of a flying contraption her father built she began fighting crime in an attempt to find her parents. With her shocking white hair and now wings the papers dubbed her Swan.

Valkyrie:

Bio: It would seem people have begun to see the unbelievable, that Odin has sent a Valkyrie to watch over us. The truth however is that this woman who speaks and fights just like the warrior women from myth is actually Valerie Kellum once an up-and-coming archeologist exploring Scandinavia when she discovered what she first took for an ancient spear. A more careful examination led to the realization that the spear had a technological component. She traveled around Europe looking for ideas about its origin but when thieves tried to take the weapon from her it activated and transformed her into Valkyrie, an extraordinary warrior with a completely different personality.

Woodsman:

Bio: The Woodsman was once a renowned druid who helped keep the world of mankind in balance with the forces of nature, fighting against those who would destroy or corrupt nature for their own ends. He came to a tragic end when he was captured by his enemies who used his link with the earth to destroy Woodvale and carve out their own territories. Though the Woodsman's physical body perished at the hands of his enemies, his spirit was freed. For a time he lived on as a spirit of nature until Lord Keyes offered him a solution. Keyes had invited a vessel capable of holding the Woodsman’s life force, a body made of machinery and metal fully able to move and interact with the world.

What are they calling this one X-Men: Business Class?

Ha kidding, in all seriousness I am excited for this. First Class was a heck of a lot better then that Wolverine movie.

On a side-note I wonder how far the Professor's hairline will have receded in this one.

The smallest smile spreads across her lips and for a second Positron wishes he was in his armor instead of working on it.

I would drop Invisibility for Afterburner as well, just more fun. And well your at it you can drop Stealth and pick up Maneuvers as a LotG mule instead.

If you still want some amount of stealth I would also recommend putting a Celerity: Stealth IO or an Unbound Leap: Stealth IO in sprint, with both sprint and Super speed toggled you'll be sorta invisible.

It also looks like you have 8 points of KB protection, (down from 12 when you pulled the Steadfast KB IO from Body Armor?). Most recommend either 4 points or 12, 8 being not helpful, but seeing as you're hovering most of the time this could be a non-issue. Then again the iTrials do have quite a bit of KB.

Build looks great by the way.

I noticed someone posted numpad binds for the WS, well here are the numpad binds i use for my PB instead. Each column is a form and each row a different action while in form. I'll explain:

Column 1 (keys:1,4,7) are used in human-form.
Column 2 (keys:2,5,8) are used in Nova-form.
Column 3 (keys:3,6,9) are used in Dwarf-form.
Row 1 (keys:1,2,3) are the regular form and tray switching binds.
Row 2 (keys:4,5,6) are heals.
Row 3 (keys:7,8,9) are special actions that take advantage of being a Tri-former.

/bind numpad1 "powexec_toggleoff white dwarf$$powexec_toggleoff bright nova$$goto_tray 1"
-The usual shift to human-form and tray 1 bind

/bind numpad2 "powexec_toggleon bright nova$$goto_tray 8"
-Shift to Nova and go to tray 8

/bind numpad3 "powexec_toggleon white dwarf$$goto_tray 9"
-Shift to Dwarf and go to tray 9

/bind numpad4 "+down$$powexec_auto white dwarf sublimation$$powexec_name white dwarf"
-This bind will shift to Dwarf pop off the Dwarf heal then when you let off shift you back to human, be sure to hold the key down long enough to do all actions and let off as soon as you see the green glow to drop you back to human

/bind numpad5 "+down$$powexec_auto reform essence$$powexec_name bright nova"
-This one is for use in Nova form, which does not have a heal regularly. Holding the key down will shift you to human-form firing off the heal and when you let off will pop you back into Nova-form.

/bind numpad6 "+down$$powexec_auto reform essence$$powexec_name white dwarf"
-This bind lets you have access to the human-heal while in Dwarf, it is like the above one only for Dwarf.

/bind numpad7 "powexec_toggleoff invisibility$$powexec_name incandescent strike"
-Tap once to turn off invisibility, tap twice to execute Incandescent strike or the Not So Stalker-Assian Strike

/bind numpad8 "powexec_toggleoff bright nova$$goto_tray 1$$powexec_name solar flare"
-This bind drops you out of Nova and executes Solar flare all in one touch of a key. As a side-note your character will hover for a second after Solar flare goes off. The reason for this bind is to more easily pull off the famous Triple Alpha Strike: Scatter, Detonation, Solar Flare.

/macro 3AS "powexec_toggleoff bright nova$$goto_tray 1$$powexec_name solar flare"
- This is a Macro i made to put in your normal Nova tray (tray 8 for me) right after scatter and detonation.

/bind numpad9 "powexec_auto solar flare$$powexec_name white dwarf flare$$powexec_toggleoff white dwarf$$goto_tray 1"
-this one is the quirky but really fun Double Stomp or I guess Hand-clap now. Side-note as stated before be sure to press twice when using

/bind numpad0 "powexec_name quantum acceleration$$powexec_toggleon energy flight"
- Tap once to turn on flight, twice to turn on quantum acceleration, and a third time to turn off quantum acceleration but keep on flight. Useful when dropping out of Nova mid-flight

Hope someone finds this useful. As a last side-note I did not write all of these binds just some of them and could not have written those with out the help of this thread.
