I'm both ecstatic to see new costume parts that we get to wear and a bit discouraged that they are charging 10$ for total fluff items.
Problems with the pack - Costume Wise
<ul type="square">[*]Bowtie is only under Shoulders and not Head/Details 2. This is where Jester Lace is located. Please duplicate this tie into that category. DO NOT REMOVE it from shoulders. More options > less options.[*]The Female tops with skins tops can not have the lace colored different then the top, unlike the skirts options. This makes it so you can not match the tops with the bottoms. These probably should have been created under Unique Tops category (where the v-day toga is) and made as an overlay like shirts, the toga, jackets etc.. So that the lace could have its color mask. You'd need to leave a non overlayed version in jackets though :/[*]The Veil. The inside of the veil doesn't pick up any color at all and stays black. This make for a very ugly look when the rest of your outfit isn't black at all. Needs to be tied to the same outer color of said veil and the veil should not be tied to the hair color :/
Other then that these outfits are very very well done and look excellent!
I'd like to have seen something useful in the pack on top of these outfits like the GvE pack had. Doesn't even have to be massively useful, just something nice. Like maybe a wentworths teleport that's like the pocket d one, or a long recharging rez power like you get from the mayhem/safeguards or something.
EDIT: for this pack 5$ would have been better. -

On the new Jester Hat, when used with the Skull head, it clips through the hat just slightly. This is not a huge deal, but I play in 3rd person and it's a tad annoying.
Here's a pic.

On a side note you can fix that ingame by changing the head sliders slightly I believe. Not a permanent fix but it should make it less irksome for you. -
Never made a full blown bar but some mini bar type setups for different groups, using the same kind of theme.

that would be news to me. you could try turning them on ingame then running your demo, but what I'd really do is PM Zloth with your question as he's one of the top demoeditor guru's around.

yah the legs and chest are being difficult.
I wanted a distinctive look to the bottom (non-armored) pieces..so that it would actually appear as though this was a guy who has armor strapped on over his clothes.. rather than having the armor pieces dominate the whole look.
Unfortunately, the way I wanted to colors to work on the bottom pieces...there werent many patterns that would make it look how I wanted..so the Dagger patter won by default on the pants. I agree it looks a bit out of place.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just make the dagger pattern a darkish blue, 1-2 clicks or so from what your using on the torso armor. That'll blend the pants into the boots and yet leave a distinctive enough cutoff from the black boots. The blue will also harmonize the costume upper part with the lower part by dragging that color scheme down the whole look. -

The clay was kneaded, and only polymer was used. Sculpey was used over my wire base to make the frame as it were, since I have an easier time widdling it down to the proper shape after its baked.
In fact my first sculpture using only sculpey never cracked.
I think it had something to do with the wire frame+plus a layer of sculpey+a more expensive and smoother clay. They probably settled differently and cracked from the pressure.
Shame too, since that technique let me get a far more detailed and flesh like finish.
Thanks for explaining how to fix the cracks though. I was afraid re-baking it would just makes things worse, so it has been sitting half done on my desk.
[/ QUOTE ]
From what I've read there are plenty of sculptors that multi bake sculpey and a few who do the removal technique that you do.
I've also read that to get sculpey to stick to baked sculpey easier you can rub a small bit of vasoline onto the cooked sculpey and then wipe it off leaving a very thin coat. This seems to make the baked sculpey much more tacky and doesn't interfere with baking from what I've read.
Here is some info from a Pro on baking sculpey:

I wanted to post these picture's as there has been alot of debate on forum's as to what is proper baking, and what Super Sculpey should look like, what temp to bake at etc....
So here is my full proof plan on baking Super Sculpey and what to look for and how I do it.
First keep in mind, not all oven's are the same and all vairy greatly on how they bake Sculpey clay's, I have used many different type's of oven's with varying result's.....I highly suggest useing a seperate oven Thermometer to gauge if your oven temperature is true to what the dial is set at.
First my guide:
1) I start at 225 and leave the sculpt for an hour.
2) I raise the temp to 250 for another hour.
3) I raise the temp again to 275 for 2- 3 hours or until the Super Sculpey has truned a dark caramel or even as dark as a redish brown brick color.
4) I shut off the oven and leave the sculpt to completely cool down before removing the sculpture.
5) If you are baking a rather thick sculpture use the same method above but raise the temperature slower and in smaller incraments.
I use this method above and have baked sculptures with NO CRACK'S and even better the clay is hard as a rock. I have noticed a huge difference in dremeling the clay and how strong the clay is compared to a weaker baked Super Sculpey. Yesterday I dropped a hand on the floor and the sculpture bounced, no crack's or damage happened to the hand, normally it would of cracked or worse shattered if it had not been baked properly.
You don't want to burn your sculpture and over do it, as it can crack from over baking so you do need to keep a good eye on it, I would'nt recommend baking any darken then what Im showing.
Heres the pictures......hope this helps out!

Good camera or not, I have found that clay is very unphotogenic so I wish you well in finding a good pose/lighting for your figurine.I tried out clay awhile back and man did the pictures come out horrible.
Also sculpty is really difficult to get good detail with, but when I tried combining clays for my next project, the thing cracked.
I need to take a class or how to properly work with clay.
[/ QUOTE ]
You have to kneed the clays together well and not layer them on your model too thick to prevent cracking. Some cracking with sculpey is almost inevitable. I'll see if i can dig up some info on a better way to cook it to prevent that kind of thing.
Cracks can be filled with crazy glue and lightly sanded or a better bet is a 2 part epoxy clay like Aves or Magic Sculpt. No cooking needed for repairs.
To kneed the clay easier roll the different types into tubes, then twist the tubes together and roll into a ball. flatten out and repeat by breaking the new ball into 2 parts and making new tubes. Also you can't mix different types of clay and have them work. IE water based clay and sculpey, you need to do polymer clay to polymer clay. -
Love what you're doing here! Can't wait to see more shots of your sculpture.

Ok here's one picture...
My camera isn't the greatest, and neither was the lighting...I need NEED To buy some tools, so we're heading to a craft store tomorrow to see if they have any.
So this is still a rough WIP..
Side
the whole pose I'm trying for is her doing the splits, blocking a blow with her katana, and getting all pissed and doing some sort of yell at her attacker n stuff.
Right now it just looks like she's waiting to give a ...well you know.

On Tools: These are all inexpensive to get/make. Usually far cheaper then a craft store.
<ul type="square"> [*]Visit your dentist and see if they have any dental tools that they are throwing out and ask if you can have them. The fine tooth picks work well for sculpey. [*]Buy a few sized nitting needles from Walmart or other cheap store and cut them in half if needed for easy handling. The blunted round tips are great for pushing/shaping clay. Size 8, 10 and 14? are good (if 14 is the pretty small size). [*]Make a loop out of some piano wire or a thin jeweler's saw blade by bending in a loop and then crimping into some small brass tubing or gluing to the end of a paintbrush handle or even a popsicle stick. Use a fast setting glue to hold in place then add some 2 part epoxy and let set for a firm grip. These can be used to rake/carve clay.
-

I'm just practicing. Dirtwolf is my first guinea...errr practice form.
Super Sculpey is way different to work with than earthen clay that's for sure..and i havn't worked with Earthen clay in YEARS....so this whole action figure sculpting is an adventure.
Coming along rather nice. My DAD complimented me on it and my DAD doesn't say jack squat about anything, complimentary or derogatory.
lol.
So hold your horses on pulling that comission....I have two more practice runs to do...heck I have ALOT of practice to do before I even dream of offering out comissions. I'm still on very very simple forms. I won't even dare touched winged or armored ones as of yet....
[/ QUOTE ]
If you find super sculpey too soft to work with or mushy there are a few things you can do....
<ul type="square"> [*]Roll the sculpey flat with a rolling pin or one of the plastic rollers and then place it between 2 sheets of clean copy paper and place a book or two on top of it to help leech out some of the "oil". It's not really oil it's excess plasticiser that was put in to prolong the shelf life. [*]Buy a small packet of fimo and mix in a bit to stiffen up the sculpey. As they are both polymer clays that must be baked the more firm fimo recipe will stiffen up the sculpey and keep the workability of the sculpey intact. For an easier to see clay mix black+white fimo with sculpey to get a greyish color.
-

Well done! I alsolike your guide/build preferences. I recent;y madea ss/elec brute and had one question. I was considering taking either fly or SJ fora travel. fly of course for AS and thinking...with Lightning Reflexes and Swift how fast willl I fly? And will it be comprable to other travel speeds for so? SJ just cause its a habit. And say fly attacking in pvping zones totally negates my grounded effects right?
[/ QUOTE ]
According to Mid's planner as Sherks has issues with swift and lightning reflexes adding to fly. we'll have to use fps which I assume is frames per second of movement.
Fly = 49.7 fps
Fly + 1 SO = 59.7 fps
Fly + 1 S0 + Swift = 62.6 fps
Fly + 1 S0 + Swift + 1 SO (fly) = 63.6 fps
Fly + 1 S0 + Swift + 1 SO (fly) + Lightning Reflexes = 66.4 fps
Fly + 1 S0 + Swift + 1 SO (fly) + Lightning Reflexes + 1 SO (fly) = 66.4 fps (planner error? must be as adding run ups the number of run.)
Fly + 2 SO + Swift / LR + SO's = 76.4 fps
Fly + 3 SO + Swift / LR + SO's = 83.8 fps
Fly + 3 SO + Swift / LR w/3 SO = 85.6 fps (LR still not adding to this total, which it should but probably only a few fps).
Superspeed (with no slots in run for Swift + LR) = 123 fps.
Fly negates grounded for Knockback but you only do a flip in the air unless knocked out of the air, which takes all of a second to recover from, compared to being knocked down and having to jump back to your feet. -

I would be very impressed with the wings, IF, they didnt come through the inventions system.
Leaving something like those options up to random chance, or the greed of others is not my ideal situation.
Other than that, good job on the looks of them for sure. Something we have come to expect from Cryptic's art and animation department. Very well done on how they look and work.

More Pool A drops:

Miracle: Heal/End
Also, I got the St. Louis Slammer temp power as a Pool A drop, which is the first temp power drop I've gotten ever (and I've seen a fair number of drops). Interestingly, it dropped from a level 33 mob, but the recipe was level 10. I'm guessing all the costume and temp power recipes are kinda like that, since they obviously do not have a specific power level.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes all costume and temp powers so far are pool a. Costumes are L1 and temp powers are L10. I'm sure this designation is nothing more then to designate who can use what at what level. -
I've found since the GCN (Great Controller Nerf) of i5 that aoe holds are not worth the slots. I've been doing them with 4. 2 acc, 2 hold duration. The duration in general sucks so bad and the recharge sucks so bad why waste the slots when other more useful powers can be slotted up instead? The set IO's are pretty sad too for aoe holds. :/
That being said, Great Guide Scrapulous! -

Along this line... What can you tell us about the various +Stealth IOs from the Travel Sets?
Specifically, can they be slotted in passive powers? If so, how is this going to interact with NPC hostages and such that won't interact with a stealthed character?
[/ QUOTE ]
Currently:
<ul type="square">[*]They can be slotted into passive movement powers.[*]You can have one of each type on your character for some massive bonuses.[*]Escort NPCs will not follow you if these are slotted on your characters.
Now, before the uproar starts, I have to say that unless we find a satisfactory solution for the last item on the list, these IO's have a high probability of being cut before reaching the live servers. Even if that problem is solved, it is still unlikely that you will be able to slot all 4 versions in a single character -- either that, or the stealth aspect will be reduced greatly.
[/ QUOTE ]
They are a nice bonus and add diversity to some builds. I'd rather not see them cut or reduced to the point where you'll have to have all 4 to do the job of one.
Can't you program them to NOT go into passives? or make hostages radiate a +perception aura around them for everything nearby including themlseves? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
(Also, on the Paragonwiki page, the Res/+ 3% def is marked as unique, which means I won't get to slot one into each of my passives like I had planned. Oh well, it probably wouldn't have stacked with Tough Hide anyway.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Do we know where that information has come from? I've not seen any redname revelations on the uniques other than the pet ones, and I've not spotted anywhere in Iakona's Invention spreadsheet that says which ones are unique either. Has someone else determined what they are?
[/ QUOTE ]
Logic dictates that it will be the cool, spiffy ones. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, okay, so in my example Kitsune9tails makes 80-100k, and you save several million inf. I'm still not sad and crying yet. Are you?
Now in my example Kitsune9tails isn't trading her rare IO for another rare IO because she's not concerned about it; she can't use it herself, she's not teamed, she just wants to empty her tray. The last thing on her mind is taking an hour off from stuff she considers fun to haggle with some 50. So she just dumps the IO at WentPrime. Any money she gets over her asking price is gravy.
Friendly advice: if it is possible that people will be creeping up on prices from below, give your item a wierd random price like 81056 inf instead of 80k. You'll be glad you did.
An Ebay style system might also work, but it's a moot point in comparison to this system...level 30s aren't going to be able to buy anything that level 50s want anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
All of this can be solved by making sure that the unique IO's are a common-ish drop. You can only have one per character as it is. Being common stops any horrendous advantage these may give the stupid-rich in pvp vs others, not that i'm a pvp'er but it is a balance issue. Being common also means that the casual player will have just as much of a chance to slot these as mr moneybutt does.
Same goes for rare drops, they should be more like an uncommon style drop so that we don't get people trying to corner the market. We'll have to see what the developers decide for the drop rate to be and that will affect how easy / hard it will be to abuse the market.
