  1. My initial encounters with the EU GM's were great, fast and friendly, but the last few encounters have been well below par. We had the issue on Hess with the computers inside the geometry of the map and despite petitions we got no replys except for an email a day later saying it was being escalated. Aditionally when I petitioned the lack of 'ding' when leveling while exemplared under the new SSK I exchanged multiple emails with support clearly demonstrating they didn't know anything about SSK, and pointing me to the old SK page on the wiki.
  2. Didn't really think much of it at the time, but had a team of 8 on Tina's arc doing BobCat and had the spawns at 45-46 and she spawned as a full AV level 50. And then the Tank decided he had to go....

About as good as the rest of the world who don't live near hero con feel whenever they get given special gifts.

This works quite nicely, been doing it for a couple of months now.

And even THEN, people actually have three names, and I have a really hard time imagining an instance where all three names match up exactly, with the same spelling, ESPECIALLY in English. I was in the same class as a person who shared my name in university, and have had at least five or six doubles of same-first-name classmates throughout school and university. Usually, one retained his first name while the other went by last name..
Funnily enough, in my small town of 2000 odd people my father shared his name with the Catholic Priest. When your first and second names are very common then you do run into clones. And not everyone has 3 names, I don't.
  7. Hmmm, I think there is a certain on in the mission and when you click it, it's over. Pretty sure I've had times when it's been the first one I've found and others where it's the last.

On a side note, it took me a long time to realise that they had a sound. The speakers on my laptop don't play the sound for some reason and it wasn't untill I played with headphones on I heard them...

To me, that's actually a good thing.

Absotlutly agree. While johnny may say people have the same names in real life, it's not flashed above their head as it is in the game. And given these are superheroes, in comic books most characters have unique names. There have been different people take up the mantle of The Flash, but it's still The Flash. There weren't very many times where there were 2 of them active at the same time.

Glad you asked. I AM Baby Burn, Claire Ice, and Clair Le Truble amongst others. I know I am the only one (on my server at least) and in no way do I want someone else to take those names. Under your system, anyone could be Baby Burn. I've had compliments on the name, what if one of them liked it so much they created it. Nothing I could do about it. I'd like that about as much as you like the current system, not to mention that I would have to have some other form of identifier anyway so really my name would be Baby Burn@DaveNSmith which just sounds really bad.

And finally those who you say CAN still be unique under your system can't really as we'll have no idea whether that name is already taken.

How about a system where a user can choose if their name has to be unique when we create it. That way those of us who like having unique names can ensure we have one, and that we keep it. Guess what, I'd give good odds that you'll still not be able to get that name you want, because most people would set their names to being unique.

(oh, and the Ninja trick in CO, Brilliant! Love the idea!)
  10. When a player first enters the game logon screen the servers are shown in order of population (although I'm not sure if that's total population, or population at the time) so new players are likely to end up on one of the busier servers and once they are established they are likely to stay there for a while.

I don't really see a game balance issue here if it was a 30s interuptable power. That way, using it in combat is a waste of time, most fights are over in under 30s apart from AV's etc, and if you get hit it's interrupted.

The downside I can see is load times, it would take a lot longer for my PC to load a new char than the 30s.

  13. I didn't think you used to talk like that, but it's generally amusing and never annoying.
  14. Heh, it's worse for those Down Under, it's 9pm or there abouts I think. There are also some in the EU who lose their afternoons play.

What happened with AE had to occupy a lot of their thoughts. (Disappointment probably )
But the rarity is tied to the drop rate, not the actual amount available through the market etc. So AE would have no affect on the drop rate, only on the total number of drops, which would still likely be on a similar % compared to total number of drops.
  16. I don't see the SSk exemplars not Dinging on that list either. While not a major bug, it's annoying not to get the level bonuses and full health and end.
  17. I bugged this and got tips on the old SK system from the GMs, and finally a link to the Wiki pages for SK. They clearly hadn't been briefed on the SSK.
  18. And it's not even Friday....

    Joke

Heh, I had issues with this. If you have the aracnos costume from the previous mission it's much much easier to navigate the tunnels as they won't shoot you.
  20. Great concepts, I'm not big on numbers and balance, but they sound fun. One small typo, when you're listing the Oppressor's sets you have written Leader.

Otherwise, well written and thought out. Dev's... yes please!

I think it's you who is missing the point of the OP. You're second paragraph is exactly what he is saying. The only difference is he believes that the Devs DID know the maps were changed as it's unlikly they changed themselves. Given the map changes appear to be isolated to this one TF it seems a fair assumption. If it were a bug you would expect it to occur in more places.

I understand the concept of IOs and the crafting part, but have a question.

What is a good time to "start" slotting your character with IOs to get the set bonuses? If you start at the lower levels, you outlevel to quickly. If you start later in levels, it almost becomes not worth it.
Not sure one a good time to start, but you don't outlevel crafted IOs. You can still slot level 30 IO's at level 50.

I actually thank them for their analysis and details they provide. However, there is another side of the fence and folks should try to offer another solution. I realize that the very second an influence consuming vendor who sells everything lands in Paragon, the Market is toast. My solution is the ability to exchange influence for merits because that would solve my problem directly without affecting anyone. It is essentially what I was going to do with a certain "Ebil" SG mate, but he didn't have quite enough merits. My offer was 90 million for 220 merits. That is just a shade under 410,000 per merit. Seems like a fair trade to me. I get what I want and another player gets something too.
So how will a second step in the process of buying the recipies via merits protect the market? You are still putting a hard INF price cap on the recipies, which will have the same effect on the market as if you sold them directly for INF.

    Is it just me?

There just seems to be a bad case of Wall Of Text over here at times. I'll be following a thread and suddenly it's full of 2 pages of 2 posters posting essays at each other. Although TechBot is doing a good job of defusing some of them.
  25. When was the hostage/escort marker added to the map? Gold addition as you can now see when you lose them.
