You are not the first to throw out the "this should be in the 'Suggestion' forums." Yet when I look at all the questions posted in this forum and the same people who told me where to post but have not told others that their posts should be in the "Question" forums, that kind of weakens their overall credibility on the issue.
Or as the kids say these days, " Selective enforcement FTL."

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh no, you misunderstand. I said that suggestions and ideas should be posted in the suggestions and ideas forum. Falsified annoucements of upcoming changes to the game (a.k.a. posting incorrect information to get a rise out of someone, better known as 'trolling'), i.e. that thing you posted here, don't belong anywhere at all.

If you want to make a suggestion, make a suggestion, not an 'announcement' - and if you want to know what people think of your idea ask them what they think of the idea, not what they think of your 'announcement'.

But if you really want people to voice their feelings on your 'suggestion', I think this here sums it up pefectly:

    [ QUOTE ]
Anyway, it's not like this is an especially novel Suggestion (& Idea), worthy of any particularly detailed examination before coming to a conclusion. People aren't commenting on the Suggestion (& Idea) itself, because it's just not interesting. Diminish EXP gains in a part of the game, and you'll discourage people from using that part of the game to gain EXP? Yeah, that's... really exciting thinking. The fact that we had to dig through a lot of deliberately misleading fluff to find your foolish Suggestion (& Idea) was just the right move to ensure that no one would be in a mood to listen.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    End of line.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
What is the difference to you between trolling and making a suggestion?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Trolling - def.: Trolling is trying to get a rise out of someone. Forcing them to respond to you, either through wise-crackery, posting incorrect information, asking blatantly stupid questions, or other foolishness.

Suggesting - def.: To offer for consideration or action; propose.

That's the difference. Plain and simple.

    [ QUOTE ]
Is this idea in and of itself considered trolling to you? You cannot see ANY merits to what is being suggested?

    [/ QUOTE ]
This is an idea/suggestion? Oh, I am terribly sorry. I thought this was an announcement. At least it was presented as such. You know, you should really post suggestions and ideas in the suggestions and ideas section of this forum to avoid confusion like this.

Oh, and I imagine that your "idea" would come across better if you presented it as your idea as well, not in the manner of 'announcing' falsified upcoming changes to the game.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
So what do you think of my announcement?

    [/ QUOTE ]
That it is a poorly contrived, yet textbook example of trolling.
  4. ((M'kay then, I guess it's about time to close this up. Was a fun idea, but I guess just not quite the right thing for here. Anyway, I had a good amount of fun, and hope everyone else did too. Cheers. ))

"Griffin, we have no time for sidebar conversations." Vlasta waved a motion for the rest to head over to the gateway, "Remember, still much work to do with this, so we can't just keep it on their world all day."

The griffin accepted this uneasily enough, not truly feeling off edge again until the Esertosians had ushered Zeo, Isabel, and Valerie back through to their world, Wolfgang giving order to shut down the gate behind them.

He and Teivos still weren't so sure this had been the right decision, but as the machinery ceased operation, they had to admit it was probably the most practical. Maybe some day in the future, something could be done to remedy things on Primal Earth, but for now, they'd just have to wait and see. For now, they had a terrorist group to kill, an election to restart, a whole bunch more portal math to do, and a likely very ticked old fisherman of a neighbor to pacify.

Well alright, so the calculations they'd have people smart enough to do them work of course. Their neighbor though, him they'd have to take care of personally. Hopefully, Griffin could help by making big enough eyes - otherwise the consequences of having missed the old man's invitation to lunch could be disastrous. It was after all tradition...
  5. ((Well, guess that's that then. Too bad. Was fun while it lasted. ))

Things as they were, Tsaiv and Tornado stepped into the snarl of murk, vanishing beyond the event horizon of the dark energy gateway. The six 'Ralf' drones followed shortly after, the malfunctioning cloak giving a brief blink as it was disrupted before entry.

The dark gate itself didn't linger, its natural instability returning, the perceivable phenomenon dispersing once again into thin air, as always leaving scant trace that the conduit had ever existed...
  6. While I do regret not having made it into the winners' circle, the mention above makes me feel not so bad. And yeah, there's some great stuff around here, so I can honestly say I don't diagree with the final verdicts.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
How many complaints does it take to get locked, or looked at by GMs?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Unknown. The number was not disclosed to me.

    [ QUOTE ]
I wonder if DC arcs are exempt from that process, anyway...

    [/ QUOTE ]
They're not. I was told they're supposed to be, but aren't for unknown reasons. Take this one with a grain of salt though, as the devs may have done something about that in the meantime.

    [ QUOTE ]
What's the longest you've gone without prodding/flagging yourself, and how long does it take after that?

    [/ QUOTE ]
In my personal experience? A day and four, respectively. In the experience of a friend who got an arc banned as well? Three weeks and two days, also respectively. And just in case you're wondering, in those 3 weeks my friend received no communication whatsoever from CS. It was not until he flagged his arc for review that a reply from them came.
  8. Negative. Trust me, I've had this happen. The GMs will literally not look at the content of your arc unless it's been locked and you've either prodded CS about it or you flag your arc for review. They will do nothing at all if left on their own.
  9. As things stand now, it seems the system auto-locks the arc once a certain number of complaints are received (the number is unknown, but it's not 1, so since you only have 1, you've got nothing to worry about), and only once the creator protests the auto-lock does customer service get involved.
  10. ((Yeah, sorry about being so repetitive. I was trying to poke Mirravin into a 'you shouldn't leave because...' post, but I guess this did get abandoned. ))
  11. "Well..." the Tsaiv woman put a hand to her neck with a concerned, thoughtful expression, looking from side to side, "...to be technical, Kapitán Sereejv is a friend to me, so permission is something I could get. I do not believe you would be much comfortable on board warship, though."

"Yeah." Sarah agreed seemingly aiming her contraption at thin air, as if waiting for something to happen, "Plus it would slow down what you're still doing, wouldn't it? I mean, if you really want to come, I guess...but I really think you've got a better chance of finding Sean's mom here, and-"

"Found it." something else caught the Tornado's attention, the dragon giving an immediate pull of the trigger. The device's rotator spun up with a howl that mimicked that of a Chronosphere, stator blades within bringing forth a faint aura of murk and mire that quickly spread along the central axis.

Not a few meters away, the air in Sarah's line of sight coalesced into a small, dense sphere of foggy black, spinning quickly about multiple axes. Tiny tendrils emanated from the thing like phantom hair, and it periodically contracted and expanded. With each second that passed, it grew darker and the pulsations more frequent, until at about four the whole thing just exploded, expanding to at least four meters in diameter, an ominous, otherworldly groan accompanying the phenomenon.

The Tornado lowered the bazooka-like contraption, the device having returned to an inert state upon the sudden expansion. It appeared to have nothing more to do with the now only gradually roating sphere of murk, which now resembled a small, dense, and of course round lighting storm more than anything else. It seemed to produce wind too, though very little and in the opposite direction of what should be expected. The only thing the apparition was powerful enough to truly 'suck in' was air - and a few dark particles that only became visible when they got close enough to it.

"Stable." Sarah gave a nod to Zuzana, slinging the blue bag over her free shoulder, and turned to Pax again, "Well, I guess until we see each other again. You'll find his mom, right?"

It was a question that wasn't really a question. She knew the Kheldian would, barring some major catastrophe, but couldn't help herself regardless. It was fairly easy to see that she felt bad about leaving, but in addition to the worry about people back home having gotten wind of her departure and wanting her dead, Zuzana's push to do so was presently the strongest influence...
  12. ((Happy birthday, Cham. ))

"Well, go ahead." Teivos threw a hand toward the gateway, which while just as large as the ones Zeo was used to from Portal Corporation back home made significantly less ruckus. This may have come from the fact that its aperture filled the entire iris, the low (though wide) ramp before it having no other purpose than to make passage of the outer ring itself more comfortable.

Well, either that or just cause problems. A trio of Tsaiv engineers complained bitterly that the ship was unsuited to do this properly, grumbling questions as to whose bright idea it had been to take something this small instead of a 'real' battleship. The Tsaigon but cleared his throat, indicating a certain metal Coldok with the palm of a hand, which quieted them down.

"And don't come back." Wolfgang didn't care to get involved though, still focused on Zero, arms crossed, "Vlasta will be issuing a public statement after this to explain everything, but it'll take us a while to really convince people to vote again. You show up again and you'll scare a whole lot into not coming to election."

But while these three (and a few more) had gone ahead, some others had fallen behind, which had given Griffin a chance to answer Isabel's question out of their immediate earshot...well, in a somewhat roundabout way, but still coherently enough to get the idea across: namely, that he could perceive a good many things about the world that many other people couldn't, and that in that sense Valerie and Isabel 'looked' very alike. The logical conclusion for that, at least in Teivos' opinion, had to be that they were from the same world - which he of course assumed to be Primal Earth.

"So...why do you guys hate Teivos so much?" he wanted to know in return, finally overcoming his shy nature and getting the question out there, "I mean...I'm from a world a lot like yours. In mine though...well, people don't have superpowers. I know I can't speak for everyone...but a lot of us would like it if someone came and got rid of all the bad people. You...you don't like that...?"
  13. Well, the boss-in-ambush functionality is something I imagine we will get eventually, seeing how many people have requested it. Heck, the devs are probably already tossing around the occasional 'how could we make this work?'

An idea that we'll never be able to make, though? Yeah, I got one of those. An boss fight where players need to fight a stationary boss in a room with several turrets that have cone attacks - and the only thing that can hurt the boss are the turrets, so players have to get in-between the boss and a turret for the cone to hit the boss.

Stationary critters, custom models, custom attack scripting...yeah, not gonna happen. Ever.
  14. Yeah, the singular in that case will default to the first objective of its type.
  15. Actually, Teivos had been walking and talking this entire time. Turning to speak to someone didn't require stopping to do so, after all. Why these two seemed incapable of seeing that was beyond him, so he just attributed it to them being from a different world again and left it at that.

He did the same in regard to their remarks. From his point of view, it was obvious neither of them was truly listening, one touting his own - and admittedly limited - experience as a basis to give advice to him regarding things he didn't understand, and the other parroting back exactly what he'd said less than a minute ago as if it was her own idea.

Arriving in the entry corridor to the submarine pen, they soon encountered a bickering bundle of net and cyborg, Sydonia huffily insisting that Valerie had tried to run, the second of course heavily protesting so. When Vlasta cleared his throat, the Tsaiv's end made room for jumping to attention.

"Let her out." the Tsaigon waved a dissatisfied hand toward the human woman, his order quickly obeyed. He leaned a bit over to Griffin, "She still feels the same, right? No tricks and such."

The 'mythological beast' gave a nod, looking from Isabel to Valerie in the process, "Yeah, she and her are the same. Well, not the same, but...uh..."

"We get it, Griff." Wolfgang comradely put an arm around the griffin, shaking the guy a bit, "You need to loosen up. When we get back to Esertos, I take you to my mother's restaurant. We'll show you a good time."

Teivos smiled, but didn't let it distract him from the matter at hand. He led the way further on, the corridor walls soon becoming transparent and freeing view into the sub pen proper - which more resembled a super-scaled underground hangar than anything else. There were docks, but the only thing of true note moored down here was the huge starship, alone the upper half of which took up most of the pen's volume.

Painted in a strange camouflage pattern that consisted of black, grays, and dark blues, the vessel reminded of a sleeker version of the Mon Calamari Cruiser Liberty from Star Wars. However, it was fairly obvious even to the untrained eye that this was no civilian craft retrofitted for combat. This was a warship. This was a HUL Myjava.

"We put the portal in the main hangar." the Sovereign explained curtly, and assuming there were no further interruptions would take them there to be sent back to Primal Earth...
  16. Every time I get a new idea for something I think fun. Unfortunately, I get hung up by technical limitations half the time, so few ever make it to my 'rotating slot'.

The ones in my sig are permanent though (or at least for now they are), and I'm currently hovering around between live and test to feel out what I can do with I15.
  17. I love it! Dang, I should do this for my own arcs - I do abuse quite a few tropes on purpose there.
  18. As much as I want to ad some of my own arcs here now, yeah - this is indeed in the wrong forum section. Should be in stories and lore.
  19. Wait for I15 to hit live and recolor/retext Positron.
  20. Yeah, these missions are fiction in game canon, so they can end any way you want them to. It's called Architect Entertainment for a reason.

Now, if you want to present your arc as a 'this is really happening' one, then I suggest you use Blue Steel as your beat-down hero. He's the Chuck Norris of CoH, so any try to take him down would need extensive preparations, or it'll all go horribly, horribly wrong.

Maybe your villain can even try to recruit Red Iron, Blue Steel's unofficial Praetorian.
  21. A bit at the high end of your request range, but I think my "the Revenge of Hro'Dtohz" (1356) would work well for you around 35+. So long as you can fight Rikti, you can solo this arc. Of course, it's more fun with a team.

I'd also like to suggest "Hunting the Dark Dragon" (2922), but the (optional) final boss is intended to be a challenge, so since you don't like challenge missions, that one might not be your thing. Just putting it out there in case you'd like to sniff around it anyway. Written as a 40+ arc, but comfortable at 35+ for most.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I would think that if Nemesis' soldiers realized they all essentially had Fat Mans strapped to their backs, they wouldn't be quite so loyal.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would think it's more likely that Nemesis figured out how to build tiny fusion power plants. Not only would he only need water to run those (if he split the hydrogen off in the plant, that is), but let's face it: if humans built a functional fusion reactor this very day, what would be used to extract energy from it? Answer: a steam turbine.
  23. "I reiterate: different worlds, different standards." the Tsaigon couldn't help but facepalm, wondering just how his thoughts of Primal and 'Axis' Earth being too different for Zeo to understand hadn't come across yet. Of course, he was wrong to think so, but had no way of knowing that, "Yours might be. The ones here are not. If they were, I doubt they would've asked us to stay."

"Now..." he took a deep breath to prevent himself from shouting, "...just what about the word 'come' is so difficult for your understanding? Because if I have to say it a fourth time and still get no response from either of you...so fine, I have nothing. But I'd seriously like to stop repeating myself here because you are more dense than Vltava bulkhead."

He once more motioned toward the door. Why wouldn't these people just move already?!

"Oh, and to answer your question," he turned to Isabel a moment (hopefully while already heading toward the elevator), speaking normally once more, "Neither. I don't know enough about your world to be in a position to give it to you, but you need to find a third option. Your humanity will destroy itself if you let it continue as you have. I don't need detailed understanding of your society to know this. The conflict surrounding Israel alone..."

"Um, actually that's mine." Griffin interjected, causing Teivos to think a moment.

"Right." the Sovereign nodded, addressing the heroes again, "Wrong Earth, same problem. They haven't found their third solution either - and time is running out. Don't let it for your world. You have power. Make use of it. Change your world..."

    --------------------

With a sound of compressed thunder, a soldier's launcher discharged, blasting a high-tension net over Valerie. The locking mechanisms sprang into action almost instantly, tightening the strands and taking her down.

She had indeed been shot in the back - but not by the cyborg.

"Take her to the Myjava." Sydonia did however once more give orders, even while she still cleared her head of the daze as she stood. She looked groggily to the human woman, complaining grumpily, "Was that really necessary?"

She didn't want for an answer though, the soldiers picking Valerie up and carrying her off toward the submarine pen...
  24. "Which is why from our point of view, your world is very messed-up." Vlasta remarked neutrally, letting out a sigh. He just wanted to be rid of these two already, "Granting people that much liberty sounds well, but doesn't work. There needs to be control, so that...why am I even saying this? I know you won't understand. Why do I bother?"

"Because you are stubborn to a fault." Wolfgang let out a light chuckle, "And you never change."

Teivos returned but a silent frown. He knew his friend was right. From what he'd gotten so far, Zeo (and Isabel too, perhaps) thought it casually amusing to 'thwart' the villains of their world - or apparently in some cases just watch them do it themselves - rather than stepping in and stopping them for good, and that was something he just had no sympathy for whatsoever.

"Face it," the cyborg added, "your skull is just as thick as the day you overthrew the old government on Esertos."

This time, the Tsaigon couldn't help but smirk, giving a defeated shrug, "Fair. Now the two of you come already. I'd like to get back to not conquering your world for its own good. Or do I need to kick you through the portal myself? Because I will..."

    --------------------

As Sydonia crashed to the ground, or rather the roof, her backup mobilized. An M7A7 rose up over the edge, the hovertank's guns swiveling in on Valerie in tandem with the rifles of the troop it carried.

"Don't even try it." the vehicle's speaker system conveyed with a dry, volumous tone, "Put down your weapon and you will not be harmed."

As the metal Tsaiv pried her face off the roof surface, several more soldiers joined in from other directions...
