Hehe, some good stuff here. Will definitely have to try out some of the methods I haven't gone with before.
-
I don't know...while on one hand I always like to see stuff buffed here and there, Hamis used to be way overpowered. I don't think I want to go back there.
-
It's a question that gets asked way too much and is somewhat annoying because no one but the devs knows the answer - and they announce it when they feel like it and not before. Even so, these responses have been harsher than usual.

...Lord Recluse revokes your AV's villain license.
...Lord Nemesis revokes your AV's hero license. Some things were just not meant to be a Nemesis plot. -
If that had been the case, the OP wouldn't have found the arc again by typing its name into the search bar.
-
Give him a little. Let him gather his thoughts.

Those farmers who have arcs with actual story content up? Probably. Those who don't? I can't imagine why they would. I think the assessment that the ratio of story arcs to farm missions will change in favor of story arcs is quite correct.
-
Well, there is an 'announce your latest creation' thread up at the top of this forum section...and this whole section is kind of the official knowledge base on arcs. It's just not very organized, I'm afraid.
A true arc wiki, to my knowledge, does not exist. I don't imagine it ever will, either. MA is just way too large to keep track of everything.
-
The only explanations I can think of is that a) the author unpublished and republished the arc, b) the author removed the keyword you were looking for from the title/description of the arc, or c) you had a typo in the keyword and didn't notice.
Without further detail here, that's about all the insight I have to offer at the moment. -
Another year older, another year wi...wait, that's not right.
Happy Birthday. -
Try here. In fact, peruse that whole section. It's full of exactly what you're asking for.
This forum section is more on the mechanics of MA rather than story arcs.
-
Aye, what they said. Vet badges are harder to get back.
-
He's not making an issue about the body bags. What he's got a problem with is their presentation in the plot.
-
None. It just shows whether someone had a positive or negative opinion of what the thread presents.
-
Whoever gave you that 1-star apparently has beef with you. This thread got a 1-star as well, even though it's no different than most other arc promos.

Tip #ilostcount: to get a boss with a mastermind type powerset to summon its henchmen early, place a rogue patrol of weak minions near it to make it aggro. That way, once the player arrives, the boss will already have henchmen out and ready, which can be used for a number of things, from making the boss fight more thematic to more challenging, as well as circumventing the 'does not summon henchmen while player is attacking' situation that sometimes pops up.

Completely random drawing, huh? Oh what the heck, I'll bite. I'll try again for a pic with Gray Huntress for Jade Blackwind. Apart from the 2 or 3 thumbnails on that page, I don't really have any references for him, since thus far headshots are all I've gotten. Well, at least I do have a full one of his dad at the bottom of that page. He's got pretty much the same build - just with the robotic body now instead of a fleshy one.

We all know that's pretty much all there is worth running in the MA. Let's make some fun out of it.
We can have 8 man teams compete over a few hours to see who can ding a 1-50 the fastest.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I fervently disagree with the above feelings on MA (and actually feel it's quite rude since many people, including myself, have put a decent amount of effort into fun, plot-driven arcs), this does sound like an interesting experiment. I'll be eagerly awaiting the results.

You are in the wrong thread, farmer, and you lie.
Since you are obviously working to exploit the game, I hope the DEVs ban your account.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey now, farming is not exploiting. A lot of people use exploiting to farm, but farming in itself is not against any rules. Personally, I don't like doing it, and I don't appreciate all the badly made 1-mission farm arcs that are clogging up the MA (and making it hard to find worthwhile stories to play) either, but farming itself is not a bannable offense. Just take this person here:

I made a 2 mission arc with text and one custom rad/Inv elite boss.
It has all the characteristics of a farm. It has text and clues. it has the hobo inquisition attacking you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Obviously a farmer. Yet made an arc with a plot, and one that sounds very fun on top of that. I'm going to go look for this arc later today.
Though yeah, this should probably go into the player events forum. -
For Cobalt Red, I'd recommend "the Revenge of Hro'Dtohz" (1356). True, it's a save the world from the Rikti deal, but Vanguard does pay nicely. Oh, and just to mention - it's technically a 45-50 arc that expands on the events of the RWZ, but I haven't noticed any trouble taking lower-level characters into it. Generally, people have told me "if you can fight Rikti, you won't have much trouble". Bring a team if you'd like to see some of the more special spawns.

Um, I don't think anyone's discounting that. Personally, I'm reading your posts as coming across as 'Venture's opinion has more weight than others because...', though. Now, I know that's now what you explicitly wrote, but that's the vibe I'm getting from your wording.
If you really liked his arcs and think they're an example everyone should strive for, great. Do that. However, keep in mind that the MA is being used by a great many people with a great many tastes, many of whom want something entirely different from the system than Venture and/or you. What is a shining example to you may well be the thing to avoid for others.

Okay, but where would they engage threats? The only appropriate place I could think of would be the Shadow Shard, which already has a military presence.

On one hand, the OP is right - the ability to place many, many copies of an AV that gives such high reward in a single mission (i.e. without the preceding time investment of their normal in-game encounters, such as task/strike forces or long story arcs) is of concern.
On the other hand, some people here do have a valid point: such AVs are dangerous (or at least supposed to be), which means they have high risk. High risk means high reward, which in and of itself is balanced. The real question here is are the rewards for these AVs balanced around the encounter itself, or the encounter plus the time and effort that's needed to get to them in the first place in the regular game?
