I'll say it again.
The SAME people have been on the front page "dev's choice" for months! They need to rotate them more often so everyone has a chance.
[/ QUOTE ]
An expiration date on a dev choice marker would provide no more incentive for the devs to go out and find new arcs to tag with that marker than they have at present, and thus not accomplish the purpose of giving people a greater chance to get one. Sorry, but this is a bad idea. -

I would not be opposed to this.
HOWEVER. That said, I understand why they do it on Friday mornings. They are trying to get the servers ready for the weekend high periods of activity, which probably take place Friday and Saturday nights U.S. time. If they moved the maintenance to Thursday, there might be more problems come Friday and Saturday night for us.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I don't know the extent of an impact pusing maintenance 24 hours forward would have, I can't imagine it would be all that much. Frankly, I'd be willing to take my game here in America slowing down a bit (due to some more code fragment accumulation and things like that) if it'll give people down under the same prime play time I enjoy. -
I've been drooling over the prospect of instanced pvp missions for ages now, and still drool over it to this day.
-
Edited my previous post to actually square with the rules of this event.

Grawr, all this dang goodwill is frikken infectious fine. Let's see. I can...
1) Draw a pencil sketch. Really badly. And only from an already established model, i.e. the pose given to me. Okay, so maybe I can manage a little different, but I guarantee nothing.Examples: 1, 2.
2) Write a MArc for you. Want to face your personal nemesis and foil his/her evil/otherwise disagreeable scheme? Here's your chance. I can make this as specifically tailored as you want, or work from a general 'this is a genre I'd like my hero/villain to get into; surprise me', all depending on how much info you want to send me.
3) Make you a costume. I'm a big fan of simple and elegant, so if that's your thing, wheels up, rock 'n' roll. For bells, whistles, and sparkles of DOOOOM, you'll probably not want me.
Edit: whoops, completely forgot this part.
I would like to be considered for my friend's character the Dark Dragon (yeah, I wrote his bio and made his costume; another example of the above option 3). His in-game appearance regrettably doesn't capture the character too well, mostly due to the lack of a monstrous head that matches the concept work on that first page (and access to cloaks/robes like that of the Circle of Thorns; he'd slip one of those on in a heartbeat), so would be nice if you'd see what you can do with that.
My friend's also got an amusing little sketch of him from a while back, though sadly the artist disappeared somewhere. It's much closer to his true appearance than the game screenshots, and though it's still not quite where it should be (what with the missing tail and stuff), I hope it helps get a better overall mental image. -
Yowzers, this is getting out of hand! Did someone fire the age ray?
Happy Birthday from here as well. How would you like to say goodbye to the year that just deserted you? -
Yeah, birthdays seem to be fairly pervasive right now. Either way, another congrats here. Hope you have many, many more.

Heh, I did this on one of my arcs as well. In the third mission of "the Revenge of Hro'Dtohz" (1356), the player is dumped into what is essentially a Rikti zone invasion. The contact says to be careful and that if the player gets too much attention from the Big Bad prior to defeating him or her, the Rikti response will be swift and deadly - and it is. If the player defeats all the optional bosses, an ambush of Gunmen will teleport in right on top of the player and attack.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats the kind of stuff which gets a high rating and feedback with "i love you".
The only missions i ever remember are ones with things that you dont expect. For example theres a great arc from an EU player [highly rated over here in the EU] where after you rescue the hostage, an ambush of titans comes after you. Now you think you have time before they get to you since they spawn at the start of skyway bride . . . . . but soon as you turn around . . . . those missiles come flying! The range is immense! But for the pure WTF?! moment its always stayed in everybodys mind.
More traps/wtf moments please
If anybody knows any arcs with stuff like that please send me a message!
[/ QUOTE ]
I wish. Thus far, all it's done (AFAIK, at least) is drag the ratings down since those Gunmen will pursue the player practially anywhere - something most people aren't used to and can't adapt to, so I get 'impossible not to die, this sux' kind of feedback. Same deal with people who don't read the briefing and then get jumped by Scirocco in the 4th mission of "Hunting the Dark Dragon" (2922).
I am glad to see that I'm not the only one that enjoys some unexpected challenges, though. I was fairly sure I wasn't alone, but to actually see it confirmed does make me feel better. -

"Wanna buy some Riksticks?"
"You don't want to sell me Riksticks."
"I don't wanna sell you Riksticks."
"You want to go home and Rikthink your life."
"I wanna go home and Rikthink my life." -
I'd already be happy if NPCs were given the ability for this. Chase missions on Skyway's streets, anyone?
-
Huh, guess I missed him...just like on my first 3 STF runs.
Dang people always speeding stuff.
-
Bad Penny appears on the Khan TF? I thought he was STF only.

The only way that critter would not be using SB is if you're playing the arc at a level below that which critters gain access to that power.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right there. I don't know when SB is available to secondaries anymore, but if you're operating below that level, it's a no-show. -
Eh, I don't think I'd like it if merits were being sold. Not sure why actually, I just don't much do.
-
Looks like you know what you want and how to go for it. Banes are of course much more damaging in melee, and your kill speed will be much lower than if you had melee attacks as well, but as long as you slot poisonous ray well, you should be fine.
-
Your suggestion has already been implemented. Accept the mission to talk to Wincott, complete it, return to the contact, and don't bother with Wincott again. Move along.
-
Does this mean you'll be drawing the requests from people in your previous thread as well, or is this a completely new list?
-
1) I don't understand what you mean by that. This game is rated Teen, so anything within those parameters should be acceptable.
2) Dark Blast and Dark Melee are probably okay, but Dark Misama is just a very powerful set period. If you give many of your custom foes powers from Dark Miasma, do so very carefully (i.e. only give 1 or 2 powers to each critter, and never give tar patch or darkest night to minions), otherwise they'll just be frustrating to fight. -
Cool. Well then, this one might be a little more complex, but if that don't shy ya down, try this one on for size: the Dark Dragon, a character of a friend of mine. His in-game appearance regrettably doesn't capture the character too well, mostly due to the lack of a monstrous head that matches the concept work on that first page (and access to cloaks/robes like that of the Circle of Thorns; he'd slip one of those on in a heartbeat

Looks like you've got some good stuff there, Sura.
Still taking requests?

To use a screenshot as an avatar, resize it to 80 x 80 pixels (can be done with many image editors; Paint works fine), give it a url address (can be done by uploading it to photobucket or some other image-hosting site), then type that url in the address field where your avatar options are in your account's personal settings (where you change your password and such).
To get a screenshot, log in to the game and type "/screenshot" (without the quotes, of course), then find your City of Heroes folder and open the sceenshots folder within it.
To add an image to a post, such as a screenshot or an event flier, you'll need to contact one of our community staff, such as Niviene.
