This is all pretty exciting stuff. Really looking forward to the things coming but regarding PVP.
Honestly though PVP holds very little appeal to me, That said I would probably try it but there is little of it on Liberty AND all the pvp'ers I know are all purpled out and custom built out the yingyang.
Why in the world would anybody new take that on?
Where is the fun in that?
I am sure that they would enjoy stomping the hell out of any nubes who show up but the stompees don't have any fun. -
Here's a thought on revamping/adding content to old zones.
Offer a contest in MA for the best story arcs based on Zone, Villian Group, Theme, whatever with the understanding that all content is owned exclusivly by Paragon Studios.
The best arcs voted on by players get put in the game and the winners get an extra(s) MA slot a prize and maybe an in game reference via a radio mission or maybe even as contact.
It would free the devs up to do new zones and basically just reveiw the content created by players to make sure it fits continuity. May as well use the mod community to fix holes in the game. -
I am pretty sure it is mostly vets posting on this thread so here is the opinion (just mine of course) of someone who has only been playing 10 months not 50. (I have one 50 and about 15 alts most in the 20s)
I never go to Boomtown. Ever.
I always do the the Faultline story arc. Becasue it is a great story that ties together all kinds of plots. Sure, I have done it a dozen times. When I have a toon that out levels it I sometimes even Ouroboros some of the choice bits.
I will probably do the same with RWZ. I only have one toon who has done it, but I thought it was very well done.
The Hollows I do if it fits the character concept (magic based) but mainly because the ending of the arc is so hard to complete without ghosting and TPing and cannot be done solo. I would have done it more often if my solo toons could have saved Sam Wincott.
Dark Astoria and Perez are both cool looking and creepy and beg for some horror style content that ties into the fiction. I would do them every time if the story was there. It just isn't there.
Striga is pretty cool. I do those stories regularly. I would hope that the war between the 5th column and the Council would spread there. Be nice to see some 5th column guys losing on the council's home ground.
New zones vs revamps? Both of course!
Seriously Boomtown for a Faultline RWZ remake.
Dark Astoria and Perez Park for some storyarcs with maybe a Dark Watcher TF in Dark Astoria.
New Zones - Space Station, Moonbase, Underwater City, Micronization, Rikti Homeworld, Actual Time Travel, Atlantis, Actual Story arcs in paralell worlds (who wouldn't want an arc to help overthrow the council empire world?) -
No, I guess only about 3 months of level 47 soloing.
-
Well, I've been playing 10 months and have never gotten one. So as far as I can tel lit hasn't changed a bet
0 = 0 still!
I'm PVE so being purpled doesn't matter, but I do have hungry alts to feed! -
We did one yesterday, we started the Task Force Commander accolade with Positron. We are doing our next one on April 11th (beacuse of Easter we are skipping a week). I'll post a thread for when we get closer
-
Success! We started with a team of 7 and finished with 6. It was long and great fun. No one freaked out when anybody died and we made puns and commented on how much we hate COT caves. (it's a whole lot)
Two of our team members were vets returning to the game after being gone for some time. Everybody said that it was the best PUG Positron that they had done and even had one person say it was the first time they ever enjoyed the TF. So we WIN!!!
Teaming up to stop Zombies, COT and clockwork from disrupting power to Paragon City:
1. Omega Teen (Blaster)
2. Anna (Controller)
3. Shield of Strength (Tank)
4. Angus The Red (Tank)
5. Fathom (Defender)
6. Mariko Blackthorne (Scrapper)
7. Honorable mention to MattMiracle's scrapper who tried but was defeated by computer gremlins!
Join us in 2 weeks for Synapse TF and the Fall of the Clockwork King! -
No problem at all. I figured that was what happened. You had some problems earlier when we were trying to get Agent Thor in shape for the TF. Let me know if you want to run it some other time and I will get a toon and run it with you.

Signup list:

Freedom Phalanx Taskforce Omnibus!
THEY say it can't be done. THEY say we are fools for even trying. THEY say margerine tastes better than butter!
THEY are WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!
Starting this Sunday and running through the next six we will attempt to run all SIX of the Freedom Phalanx Task Forces necessary for the Task Force Commander badge. Can it be done? Join us and see!
This Week - Positron task force
You must be level 10 to participate and will be exemped down to 15 if you are over the mark.
(Stock up on blues, because this is right in the middle of the stamina crunch)
Where to meet: Steel Canyon in front of Positron
When: 2:00 PM CST
Who: Vets, Returnees, Noviates are all welcome.
Length: Plan on 3 hours
How: Sign up Below or send me a tell @mwruger or a PM
Enemies: Clockwork, Circle of Thorns, Vahzilok
Reward: Fun and 66 merits
Please note that this is NSTF event. That means a Non Speed run Task Force. Everybody gets a chance to read the mission notes and clues. We experience the content at a pace that allows those who have never done the Task Force to get a handle on it. That way when all you speed runners need to fill out a team, you have a larger pool of people who know what needs to done. -
Ok, we had our first non-speed run task force it was a blast. I neglected to jot everyone's name down so if I missed someone or got your name wrong just let me know.
Our team:
1. Arius The Red Handed
2. Morning Star
3. Professor Beltane
4. Andy Mactavish
5. Unknown Hero
6. Astrolias
Lots of fun , but Mary McComber was one tough cookie. I think it took us about an hour or so to finish, but everyone kept up I sure got a better handle on exactly what went on and I feel I could run one by myself.
Thanks to Unknown Hero for helping point me in the right direction and for some excellant tanking. Two Dual Pistol weilders shot things up pretty good and I remembered to target the Void Hunters who showed up to kill Astrolias. It was a blast and I hope to run something next week as well. -
Very nice. Kinda reminds me of Posion Ivy. I bet running in those heels ain't fun!
-
I'm not gonna be there RL has decided I need to repair a door jamb. Maybe next week?
-
Yep. This sunday. I will also make an announcement in all the appropriate channels when the TF is going to start. If more than 8 show up, then we'll eith run it twice or do two seperate teams if there are enough to meet the requirements.

I really like this idea. I'm not a marketing mogul but it seems to me that this would also spread influence among all levels of an recipe making marketing much more interesting (complicated).
Now if you are crafting not only do you have to calculate cost versus return on a level fifty IO but also whether it would be cheaper to buy a 48 and craft up to a 50.
I like it. -
Well, speaking of replying to invites,
I always reply to a tell inviting me to team even if I can't. I usually include my reason for declining "only marketing, just on for a few, fixing to log, etc"
It's just polite and I want some of those folk to invite me in the future when I do have time to play. I know people are kind of rough on PUGs but some of the most fun I have had has been watching other people AT's and sets I don't.
Besides, how I can I not love the time when some player said "You're 14 aren't you?" and his reply "How did you know that!" another player said "Dude, we all know that."
Fun times, fun times. -
I solo a lot, but unless I am halfway or more through I would rather team than not and I am happy to replay a mission.
My question is why, when my search comment says "no blind invites plz" do I get a couple every time I am for longer than an hour?
Do you suppose people think I typed and forgot it was there? it's my default message. When I am marketing for a few I put that and when I am not, "NO BLIND INVITES PLZ". -
Unless you are planning on PVP, couldn't you just make your second build exemplar friendly? Slot the second build with SO's and frankenslot whatever drops. This should let you play with lower level toons nicely.
(Although if you are planning on collecting Ourboros badges I don't think my plan would work so well) -

From what I have read the 1st mission is a real doozy with end drain baddies so plan accordingly.
Just post, tell or PM and I will add your name to the list. -
Quote:Don't get me wrong, it was fun and I got my armor. But if I didn't know about Reichsman and the letter at the end I wouldn't have had clue as to what happened. That's a shame because it is a pretty cool story and introduces doubts about the menders that may be relevant for future content.Robo's Lounge very rarely runs speed ITFs. we are usually between 50 minutes and an hour. there are some things we rush through, but mostly we kill stuff.
I would guess considering how many 5 year vets were on the team that just assumed everyone had already done it and knew what to do. oops. Not me. Got killed a lot on the second mission because I fell behind while they were killing nictus and triggering ambushes. Died trying to catch up.
So instructions on Hami raid is good idea says I. -
Hello all Liberty new comers and vets!
I have been thinking for a while now that we need someone to run some non-speed run Task Force's and Trials.
I understand the ratio of merits/time thing but some people might want to experience the content at least once without the burden of slowing down vet players on a speed run or TF race. Now I haven't done most of these myself, so I am game at putting together some TF that take a little longer to run so that people can get an idea of what's involved. That way, they can get the story and be ready when a speedrunner needs to fill a team.
So, in that light I am looking to run Katie Hannon this Sunday. Anyone is welcome as long as they understand that it will be slow enough so that everyone has a chance to catch on and explore the story content.
So sign up below:
If you are a vet and fancy helping out, send me a PM or tell @mwruger. -
Yeah I hope there is some explanation and time to figure it out. For some (me) this is/will be the first time to do the mission/TF/Raid and I have no idea what happened even when we succeed. I did an ITF on Friday and if I hadn't read all about it I wouldn't have a clue what the story was. Maybe we need a group to do non-speed run task forces to let new players in on what needs doing.
-
Thanks for the specs.
I wonder how the integrated intel chipsets used on most inexpensive laptops is going to stack up. Most of them share video memory with system memory and don't really perform all that well. -
No the minimums aren't changing, but as long as he is buying a new system he should get one that shows off the new shinies. Those specs aren't yet as far as I know.

Hey, just make sure that it will handle ultramode coming out with i17 in April.
