Some people have had far more than 48 level 50 characters. Far more. As for getting all 5 T4 Incarnate abilities on 48 toons, that's insanity.

Willpower is a good 'set it and forget it' powerset. It's pretty much the opposite of Regeneration in terms of things you have to click to stay alive. I found it kinda boring though; it definitely goes for substance over style, but style has a substance all of its own, especially when you're a superhero.

Every F2P game I've ever tried allows read/write access to their forums. Why? Because they know getting involved with the community gets people to stick around, and people who stick around spend money.
The fear I suppose is gold spam getting posted. But go look at the forums for any given F2P title: how much spam do you see? -
I saw it yesterday and my current sentiment is that it is solidly 'good'. I think Thor may have been a bit better, but they're both well worth seeing. Seeing a teaser trailer for The Avengers after the credits was beyond awesome.

When most people talk about doom they are talking about that the game will no longer have what makes it fun for them. I have no idea who paragon studios is trying to appeal to with the latest changes. It appears to be communities of epileptics that have synchronized seizures over keyboards in half hour intervals.
Will this doom the game ? Not likely it can probably run indefinitely on the people who can't figure out how to cancel monthly billing, and people who believe that the devs asking for a list issues means something will be done. Will it be a fun or good game ? That is a different question.

BAF is easier and a more consistent source of Astral merits. Getting the bonus Astrals from the escapee phase and from leaving the turrets on is almost guaranteed these days.
