    Bill Z Bubba noticed, too:

Although I used to use AVG, at some point I noticed it became a bit too bloated for my tastes. I'm now using Avira Antivir.
I should give that a try. It started to annoy me a little when they switched AVG so I could no longer just shut off the various pieces in my Task Master. Good program, otherwise. Macafee and Norton were good for their day, but their day was a decade ago and they've become these monstrous system hogs I won't even look at anymore.
  2. There's a new cursor setting in the Options. One says "color" and when you switch it I believe it says something like "compatibility mode". Have you tried switching that?
  3. Nuh-uh! If his join date is 2005, he's just getting "old" enough for senile brain-farts.

Me? I came with those standard before I even got the game.
  4. There's a dealer in the Shard that sells jet-packs? Or are you referring to getting the Day Job jet pack from there?

When I started playing this game back in I6, I only had 256m of RAM (on dialup, no less). It literally took 5-7 minutes to zone. Needless to say, I was not fun to team with.

I was just wondering what you guys think is the "definition" of your server? I mean, what is considered to be the most remarkable thing in your particular server?
I base on Victory strictly because I found the Legion of Valor. That was a great reason for me.

Have you disabled the ATI Hotkey Poller utility?
That causes some problems, if it is running.
Yes, first thing. Unfortunately it made no difference whatsoever.

    QuantumWedgie helps:

For ATI users who have had the weird "arrow key movement throws me into autorun auto spin" bug, use the suggested fix posted in the first post on this page, then, go to control panel, keyboard, and reduce the repeat delay and repeat rate on your keyboard, this has stopped the 360 autospin on mine but, it makes using the architect for missions nearly impossible as it slows your keystroke input on keyboard inputs.
Well, that helped quite a bit. There's still a touch of the delay, but only if I'm looking for it. But, as you note, it makes typing the in the chat box PAINFULLY slow so I'm still hoping for a "real" fix.

Heh, and these are special needles, too. They're huge. I still have scar tissue in the crook of my elbows from my forays into Plasma Donating back in the '80s. Takes forever, too. 2-3 hours a visit. They take your blood, centrifuge it to separate the plasma from the cells, then they put your cells back in you.

This is CoX. You really have to go way out of your way to make a character truly "unplayable". Flexibility FTW!

No, they most certainly are NOT. It's not your call, and there is no "right" or "wrong" here, only your preference.

I was thinking the other day about how many games, MMO or otherwise have characters that I would consider the epitome of that series

for instance, Star Wars it would be Jedi, WoW(icky) Would be a Paladin etc.
I got to thinking about what would be classic in this game.

What do nyou think it is. A typical INV?SS tanker or someone using electricity. what about travel powers, fly is classic, but teleport is more prevalent.

what are your opinions on the subject.

(If I'm not being clear let me know)
There really isn't any, IMHO, and I believe it's set up that way on purpose. Frankly, the super-hero "genre" is one of the most flexible that exists (as noted above), because you can fit just about any other genre inside it. Comicbook worlds contain pirates and ninjas and catgirls and private detectives and et cetera et cetera. Everyone's welcome!

A look at my site will show someone that's very interested in comic book archetypes. I have over 100, almost every one an homage of some kind or another and I certainly haven't done them all yet.

I've bought every booster pack and every in-game item pack and I have to admit that this "translation" feels too close to the truth for comfort for me.

Why do we need lots and lots of booster packs?
Well, we don't need any of them. They're extra. Nor do you need to buy them right when they come out, or even at all. They're there for if and when you want them.

Well, I'll hit the big 5-0 in October, but I'm also a heavy smoker that would be surprised to see 60. And I did say "possibly".

    Quote:
I think you're right. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that eventually, that central computer won't even be your computer. I mean, think about it. Right now, the game that we all play is controlled by central computers owned by NCsoft. I also buy movies and television shows that live on Amazon's servers. My tax information lives on Intuit's servers. The current craze is to offload everything into "the cloud." At some point, I imagine a time when the devices we own are all basically dumb terminals to the real computers, which have high availability, redundancy, can be endlessly scaled up or out as needed, etc.
Certainly a possibility. That always seemed to be how the old sci fi concepts were, and the science geeks to have a tendency to get a lot of ideas from there (just look at flip cell phones and think of the original Star Trek).

    Mental_Giant explains:

I think he meant a real week of cooldown. Meaning: no matter if you're a Vet who can polish off the content in one night, or a n00b who has to do it over several days, once you move one notch over (from Hero to Vigilante, for example), you can't proceed on the path to the other side until a week elapses.
Oh, oh, yes, certainly. I got that. I'm just hoping there's more to it than, say, run the Midnighter intro arc and wait a week. I'm hoping for about 10-15 hours of play at my VERY casual pace, which to the more speedy among us might be one medium long night or a couple of short runs.
