  1. Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to hear that it doesn't sound ridiculous/stupid. I was worried that the dimension/time travel gimmick was being overused.

Feel free to look for me in game: Dechs Kaison on Virtue, or just @Dechs Kaison. I hit level 12 last night, and I've already begun "hiring" for the Kaison Corporation. (I got a lucky drop of a steadfast protection which sold for a pretty penny on the market. I can actually afford to pay new employees!)
  2. I agree that maneuvers on a MM is pretty weak. Fully slotted it will give you just over 5% defense. I don't think it's worth it, and you've got better places to put slots.

Grab assault and put one end reduc in it. Too bad you won't be able to six slot tactics for the gaussian set bonus.

well tactics is a waste a big waste sorry but ur wrong the enforcers have tactics and if u slot them just once for +to hit and a single acc in ur minions thell never ever miss..and manuvers is a must cuz ur minons reliy and humm manuvers from your enforcers again and guess what it stacks yay..also assult sucks enless ur on a team, wait ur an mm your your own team so its so worth it and vengance it pet crack uve never lived till u seen vengance on all minons and ur gang war... my thugs was a dark so hes all about the def...and the gun powers are usless in my opinon i tried each and dont have a 1 now the pets do such a better job and i dont have to waste end...lastly i never took a travle power only cuz i had so many pool powers but find what works its a good set.. have fun

If you can't understand any of that... don't worry. He's not saying anything useful. If you can read through the lack of punctuation and intelligence, just ignore it anyway.

The slotted to-hit buff from enforcers is about 1/3 the bonus that an unslotted tactics gives. Granted, there will be two of them, but still, the to-hit bonus from enforcers is not enough on its own if you intend to fight anything +2 or more.

Maneuvers is kind of useless. It's actually the reverse of the tactics case. Fully slotted maneuvers gives you ~5% defense, but each enforcer slotted will give you about ~10% from each.

Assault is the more worthwhile power to unlock tactics as it adds 10% damage to all of your minions, and you won't need to sink slots into it. You can put those slots somewhere else useful.

Mids doesn't have all the info from pets, these are the numbers I remember from right clicking on the powers in game.
  4. But if you increase the cap, you will in turn increase the prices.
  5. /ignore (playername)

He will no longer be able to send you messages.
  6. Alright, so I'm making my first run at RP, and I want to run an idea by the RP board to see if it's got enough ground to stand on. Time to test the suspension of disbelief and twist game mechanics into a story.

My absolute favorite character is a Tech origin Bot/FF I have on Champion. I've wanted to RP the character, but redside champion is a ghost town. I'm rerolling him on Virtue, and changing him to a Bot/Traps instead. I had thought about just starting fresh with the story I had come up with for him, but then had an idea...

When tech blends into science, madness ensues. The very powerful (high level) mastermind builds a device in his lab for dimensional and temporal alteration. Safety is tossed to the wayside as he attempts to change our world to meet his needs (who needs a testing phase?). Through unexplained science, something explodes, or other mishap, it doesn't work as intended. The villain blacks out, and when he awakes...

The world is not as he remembers (new server). He is standing outside the Zig, like he was long ago (tutorial). His robots no longer respond to his communicator, and no wonder, his lab does not exist anymore (SG base)! There are people here that he recognizes (contacts, arbiters), but many that he does not (other players).

"If I have to start over, so be it. I've done it once, I can do it again. I will rise to power, my Corporation will stand again. This time, I'll do it right (traps)."

    So what do you think?
  7. Easy now, I was just asking to see if it's still used. With globals and whatnot it seems a bit outdated. I was curious, and I'm glad some people told me what they use it for. Thanks!

I wasn't about to make a suggestion to just remove it entirely if people use it.
  8. I think my favorite concept I have is a Natural Thugs/Poison. As a bonus, he's VERY fun to play.

Story goes he's the common tough guy with a following of thugs. He started smoking at 9, and somewhere around 20 switched to cigars and hasn't been seen without one in his mouth since. Sure enough lung cancer comes along, but the bot/ff technology MM character develops something to save his life from the lung cancer but also managed to harness the cancerous byproducts as weapons.

Lung cancer: Not without its benefits.*

*Kudos if you've seen the movie that line is from.
  9. I think I did once. It was back during i3 though. There's no way I'll remember who/what about though.

How about have you ever sent one? I don't think I have.
  10. Leadership I believe is a must.

Skippable powers? Definitely the first and third personal attacks. The second one - dual wield I believe - isn't bad. You may need it early, but I suggest skipping them when you respec later. Your primary attacks will be worth diddly in the long run, but early on they're good.

Take provoke to make enemies attack you and have the bodyguard mode mitigate damage for you. Your pets are in bodyguard mode as long as they are in the following stances: Defensive plus any of follow, goto, or stay.

Tactics: Once you hit 26 and get the bruiser there is a great tactic for him that I know. Give yourself a macro that orders just the bruiser to attack, but leaves the rest of your pets in defensive follow. He will get the aggro, build his fury while you heal, and as soon as he gets attacked the rest of your pets will open up.
  11. Amahte - I'll look you up. Gigantico? Look for a tell from Dechs Kaison.

DJ, you'll have to forgive my ignorance here, but... what is a Cape show?
  12. What are the RP hot spots redside?
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Maybe you could form an rp vg then? Virtue is like any other server, there are some good people out there and plenty of jerks. Try not to let it get you down. The good, fun teams are out there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's exactly what he did as soon as I hit level 10 and was able to form the SG.

Not sure how to go about recruiting though.
  14. Alright, so I just created a new villain on virtue, a quasi-copy of my main villain on Champion. I did this because I've always wanted to RP my characters and it's kind of pointless on a low population server like Champion. Hell, I can't even find a team most of the time. So anyway, I've managed to play in a team twice now, with completely different results.

The first team was GREAT. I skipped the tutorial and went right into "send in the bots" mode. It was a PuG full team of 8 right out of the Zig. A few players rotated in and out, but at least four others were there the whole time. Everyone was in character and having a blast while we rocketed through the initial levels and onto the fun stuff. We pulled the first mayhem mission and then I called it a night.

The second team I managed to find was grueling. Maybe I was on a the wrong time of day, but it seemed to be the only team running. One guy knew what he was doing, two more had a little of an idea, but the others were morons. On top of it all, no one was in character. I was making desperate attempts to remain in character, but getting "lol" and "wtf" responses. It frustrated me to no end.

So how do I find a good RP team?
Do I have to be the one to make one?
Is RP uncommon at low levels and my first team was just a fluke?
What times are best for finding other RPers?

I know one answer is going to be "Find an RP villaingroup." I would love to, but my character is OBSESSED with setting up his Corporation, and will have nothing of the sort. He calls the shots, he builds the base, he runs the show. My best bet in that regard is to coalition with someone.

Bots/FF. Untouchable and full of awesome sauce.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I actually have to go with this. It was my first MM, too, so perhaps it's only sentimental.

    After that, we'll say Thugs/Poison.

Oh, and Vitality's idea of limiting AE to those with a level 50 character would actually hurt many altoholics out there. Personally, it took me bout three years to get my first level 50 character (and I still don't have my second one after 4 1/2 years). But I certainly tell you I knew how to use the train, where Crey's Folly was (or how to find it if I didn't already know), how to get my cape, how to run on a TF, etc. Making AE only unlockable with a level 50 would have locked me out well past my learning curve on the mechanics of the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What I mean is as soon as you get a level 50 character you can access AE with any level character you make.
Make it the same way they did with EATs and VEATs.
The AE access wouldn't be limited to just that level 50 character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    They know.

What they were saying is that people can go a long time before they get a single level 50 on their account.

Keeping them locked out of the AE until that point on all of their characters seems harsh.

Maybe until they get 50 levels across all characters?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a pretty ridiculous workaround, but: How long would it take you to make 50 generic/random heroes on servers you never actually intend to play?
  17. I've started looking into how to be an ebil marketeer for massive profit, and I guess I'm still not understanding a few things.

Is "flipping" just buying up the entire stock of something and relisting at a higher price? Or is it a more calculated "snipe items at low price and then list them high, waiting for the BUY IT NOW people"?

I understand it takes capital to make capital, so to build up enough inf to start my ebil career I've been crafting generics. Until I actually memorize the recipes, I'm selling them for very little profit because that's all I can seem to sell them for. Once I do memorize the recipes, does this become a profitable enterprise?
  18. I would love something like Tyranids. I wouldn't want Rikti, but the only other alien in game lore is kheldians.

Speaking of that, I saw some sort of nictus summoning idea which looked pretty freaking sweet.

I would love beasts/monsters or elementals.

I'd also like some sort of fire based set, and another that is psionic based, and a third that is ice based. Every other AT gets their pick of damage type, why are we restricted to energy, smashing, and lethal (primarily)?
  19. Dechs Kaison

    Best place?

    Seriously, I see two choices.

    1. Put the proc in a power like envenom, that you have to activate for a chance to work. Click, chance, recharge, do other stuff, click, chance.

    2. Put the proc in Grave Knights, that will summon two creatures with three swinging attacks with only the first upgrade. Now you do your other stuff while they are effectively getting six times the chances for the proc to occur than you would.

Sorry I didn't respond right away, been gone for a few days, just now getting back.

5 days and only one response?

Thanks Strider, at least someone cares

    [/ QUOTE ]

No more responses because there is nothing more to add.

    The truth has been spoken.
  21. Well where the hell are you guys?!

I've got a veritable army on redside and I never see anyone.

Heh, thanks for letting me know you're out there!

As I said, the Thugs/Poison already feels much more like a nuclear powered steamroller with death rays and rockets. I wish playing my bot/ff had been this much fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Just wait until you get Noxious Gas. Then you'll be a nuclear powered steamroller with death rays and rockets and poison gas

Now, having played the single target slaughterhouse that is Thugs/Poison, you can imagine what a shock it was for me to go from that to Bots/FF.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, you must feel like things are going terribly slow, but rest assured: You can't die! I walked away from my computer several times for EB fights, even Ice Mistral, and came back to a victory. It's pretty amazing to have your bots softcapped defense without even the single target bubbles or the IO auras.

I will admit, between force bolt, force bubble, and a patron AoE immobilize, you can position your enemies with relative ease for a burn patch from hell.
  23. Particularly the +regen aura if you're a mastermind, but periodic heal if you're a corruptor. Is there a good reason for this difference?

Is one supposed to be more powerful/useful than the other?

I'd imagine it has to do with the pets somehow. Is +regen more beneficial to pets, thus the change? Or is it a case of periodic heal would be too powerful, thus the change?
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bruiser also has fury. Allowing him to take aggro should increase his damage output. It also works because when he takes damage, the other pets on defensive let loose the fireworks.

I do have to keep spamming the alkaloid on him for some fights.

    Normal operation:
    Target boss.
    Click "Attack" command.
    Target Bruiser.
    Spam debuffs and heal.
    Room's clean, move on.
