Curse you!
I recently hit 24 so I'm not feeling the pain you described just yet. I can't quite knock out a boss with a single BU+AS anymore, but it's damn close. I sure have a fun time soloing. At least late game I'll be able to kill sappers and the like before anyone has to worry.
So I started using the dual build thing to my advantage. I've named one stalker and one scrapper. They're very similar since I don't have many skippable powers within the AT. The main difference is that "stalker" has a travel power, but scrapper has stamina and skips placate.
The reason for this is because I "stalk" solo but "scrap" on teams. Solo has smaller spawns, so placate becomes more useful. In teams, I need to be able to keep up, so stamina has been necessary.
Anyone else do something similar? -
What about GHOST PIRATES!?!?
No lethal damage, just cold and negative energy. -

Thanks for the link Uun. Now are those numbers base? My experience is that the numbers diferentiate between tier1 through tier3 pets. I'd need to confirm this ICly. Also i'm not infront of my comp, but I'd like to see what affect PowerBoost (if any) has on NoxiousGasses percentages. Who knows, I may just respec back into Poison's poison trap if the numbers are adequate.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those should be base numbers. As my quoted post says, multiply by .75 for Tier 1 and by 1.25 for Tier 3. -
[ QUOTE ]
Noxious Gas: You can infect one of your Henchmen, surrounding him with a Noxious Gas. All foes near the infected Henchmen will be overcome with the Noxious Gas. Their Defense, Accuracy, Damage and Damage resistance will all be reduced. Additionally, there is a chance than any affected humanoid enemy will become violently ill. Even the mightiest foe will stop dead in their tracks, and left helpless as he empties the contents of his stomach.
Level: 38
Range: 30
End: 22.75
Duration: 45 Seconds
Recharge: 300 seconds
This is it, this is why you take thugs and poison. Noxious Gas works when applied to a pet and creates a 30' gaseous cloud around the pet. It only lasts 45 seconds so the pet needs to be up close and personal with the target and stay there to get the biggest affect. Since the bruiser works best when he's in the middle of the action it creates the best synergy of the two powers. It may take a level or two to really get the hang of it down to maximize the effectiveness so give it a chance. Now let's look at the numbers to see why NG is such a big deal:
-10% ToHit to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Smashing Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Lethal Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Fire Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Cold Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Energy Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% negative_Energy Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Toxic Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Psionic Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Defense to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Smashing) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Lethal) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Fire) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Cold) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Energy) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(negative_Energy) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Toxic) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Psionic) to Target for 20 seconds
Effect 1000 Held to Target for 4 seconds (0% chance) [Non-resistible]
As you can see NG debuffs across the board and it stacks with Envenom and Weaken. Go look again I'll wait. Now note there is a multiplier depending which tier pet you apply Noxious Gas. The numbers above are based on a tier 2 which has 1.00 multiplier. The tier 1 pets have a 0.75 multiplier. Your tier three bruiser has a 1.25 multiplier. Further reinforcing that Noxious Gas and the bruiser have the best synergy. Using the bruiser your debuffs are 12.5%, 25% & 37.5%.
Now it is crystal clear Envenom, Weaken and Noxious Gas are what you use to go big game hunting. By big game I mean AV's and Hero's. For PVP I was spotting 50's 10 levels in the arena and wiping the floor with them at level 40. Noxious Gas will also detoggle granite. It is just a nasty power. The best thing about it is you can make things puke. Puking is that mag 1000 four second hold. What is better than making a player or signature heroes like Valkyrie puke?
The best way to use NG is to get you bruiser up in front of everybody just out of awareness range of the target[s]. Send the bruiser in with goto aggressive. Then immediately infect him with NG before he gets out of your range of 30'. Let him get agg then debuff with envenom/weaken and attack.

I don't see it being feasible to change sides without leaving your supergroup.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's how I see it too.
Plus, we SHOULD have to leave our group. I mean, a hero base is usually a publicly known place. If a hero turns into a villain, he would have to go into hiding (lair) or be arrested, right?
In my mind, this shouldn't even be a question...switch sides, get in a new SG/VG. It makes total sense to me.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm with you on this one. My take is Going Rogue is about switching sides. It's not really about ambiguous allegience (you can't be a hero and a villain at the same time) or universal content (true heroes heading into villain territory or vice versa). Switch and a SG/VG change should follow suit.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, but what about this: A hero spends all his time building a supergroup and base. He has many followers, some are following him, and some follow his ideas. Personal calamity hits (insert your own idea), and this hero becomes a villain. The hero most likely won't want to leave all his work on the supergroup behind.
"To hell with the rest of the world, it's my base, I built it. You want to stay here? You follow me."
What happens to his base? Does the base switch sides and his loyal followers switch with him? Does he get "voted off" by the true heroes in the group and the group remains blue?
Similar questions pop up from red to blue. Surely not everyone in a group will have a change of heart because Mr. EvilDeathMonger changes to Mr. BunnyLovingRainbowBright. He might want to convert the base into a haven for all that is good in the world. Maybe he wants to destroy the base because it had been used for evil. Perhaps the rest of the villains take over and he simply leaves. -

LOL. Okay, now that that sidetrack is over, we can now return to posting about the idea. Cool beans!

I touched on that, but didn't go into detail. First it allows people to play together with out spending time to find side kicks. It also, allows people of large level ranges to play together so it's much easier to find teams. It means it's far less likly to jump on a toon and no longer be able to find a team. It wouldn't take nearly as long to create a team. More playing less standing around waiting. Also, that would most likely keep more players playing longer and make it that much easier to find teams.
It also allows you to be able to play with your super group mates and freinds easier.
It allows higher level players to experince more content.
It would also, slow power leveling down a bit (if that's an issue for you/someone).
[/ QUOTE ]
[NOTE: Please do not use red text to respond if you choose to do so. It is difficult to read against both of the default backgrounds]
I think you have a solution looking for a problem.
Why do you need to spend time looking for sidekicks? I start my search by looking for characters close to my level, and then widen as I go. If I wind up on team with more lower level characters, I can exemp down. The system does work both ways. This goes for supergroups and friends, too.
I belong to some large SGs and to include everyone and team together it is often a juggling act and people end up being excluded. Also, I have been on several PUGs that tryied anything they could just to put a full team together. Or even a 5+ team together. And, even then you often have players so far down the scale they are all but useless because they can't hit anything.
"More waiting, less playing," is a choice on your part. The absolute longest I spend forming a team before moving on to the next mission is five minutes.
I have jumped on several times with serval characters and not been able to find a team at all.
How does your idea allow "higher level characters to experience more content?" without a mob level sytem there is no longer a need to cap contacts and mission selection.
You have specifically said that your idea is NOT to implement the Giant Monster code across the board, but to, in effect, roll back the Purple Patch, making it so that it is easier to hit higher level enemies, and making it so that higher level enemies don't hit you as hard. This would slow down leveling how? it would slow down power leveling by reduing the level range players are getting xp for no more getting xp for 7-10 levels above you while you're beening power leveled.

Except for SG/VGs that aren't specific heroic or villainous. More then a few "Neutral" groups exist. Most of my characters that will be side switching will be doing so merely to let me play ATs that aren't hero ATs. But its feasible a hero may side switch to merely gain access to the isles and work against the villains from the inside.
Or vice versa for a villain in Paragon.
Its not really so black and white, and personally I'd rather seen a system that allows a whole SG to take on a specific type be it heroic, neutral or villainous.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm with the group of "Let the SG choose its own alignment."
In particular, my character is a leader of a supergoup that is really only interested in profit, growth, and taking care of its own. It's a corporation, not really an evil league or even a mob. We may cater to villains, because they generally are more interested in the profit side of superpowerdom, but if you're the kind of hero that takes care of things in an ugly way, we don't have a problem with accepting you. -
[redside market]
I'm noticing that the prices have completely crashed and I'm seeing a lot more for sale all the time. (Yes, I know they go hand in hand. More supply generally means lower prices.) One of the common salvages in particular, one I used to flip from 10k to 125k (sometimes as high as 200k), is now selling for 50k ABSOLUTE max, with many sales under 10k!
What's going on?
Are people... leaving the AE building? It can't be...
Is this just a market goof? Could it be some kind of random fluctuation that will go back to normal soon so I can keep flipping?
Maybe my ability to flip was only because of a random fluctuation and it already HAS returned to normal... -

I even hear some people take Scorpions cone for even more knockback!
or use the knockup/-back powers from FF to... control
And in the end, they use force wall to pin the mobs against walls, so all that knockback is basically knockdown, and the whole gang is nicely stacked on on the burn patches and the other AoE goodness.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. It's really pretty easy to be honest.
[/ QUOTE ]
I now have a bot/ff and a bot/traps... Controlling with the force bubble is amazingly easy, incredibly effective, and a lot of fun.
Honestly though? My new /traps has a much easier time with just about everything. I've got -res and -def for the hard to hit/damage, -regen for EB/AVs, my bots are almost stoftcapped defense but the -tohit from seeker drones more than makes up for it, and the triage beacon makes my bots over the top durable. Caltrops and webnades are enough to hold enemies in nice groups for the burn patches. -
Well that's just useless. Would have been nice if it could trigger on my bots.

If it's in tactics, will it have the chance to give the buildup to anyone in the tactics aura?

This is now my favorite thread. Thanks for giving us the scoop.
I also echo the thanks to BaB, this will be an amazing addition to the game. I've wanted this since day one. -
Very very valuable. And for some of the procs, it means you can bid on any level (that you can still slot) of them without worry.
Thanks for the confirmation guys. -
Hey, I like this idea. I can only flip so much salvage in a day because there's only so much of it out there.
If you supply it cheap, I will buy it and sell it for much more. The prices will not even BLINK. -

I can't remember where I read it, but I think I saw somewhere that PvP IO's act like purples in regards to exemplaring/malfactoring (meaning that you won't lose the set bonuses for exemping to more than 3 levels below the IO).
Can anyone confirm this for me?
