Alright, WTH happened to common salvage prices?
AE farming seems to have died down - at least on Guardian server. If that translates to other servers, then the market would see changes in supply and demand.
I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

DING-DING, we HAVE a WINNER!
I think people finally started to just play the game a little, and didn't know what to DO with the salvage they were getting...so much more is going on the market for 1-5 infamy/influ.
Or, it could be that people have finally crafted most of what they wanted to for characters following the last couple of issues, so there just isn't the 'gotta have it NAO' demand there was the past couple of months.
Or, people have finally wised-up to the fact that they can roll for salvage using their bajillion racked-up tickets, and usually get what they want far cheaper and faster than on the market...and they're selling off the excess at bargain prices.
OR-probably some combination of all of the above.
Basically too many 50's to count, but I'm generally a brute/scrapper/tank kind of guy.
I do think people are leaving the AE building more and more. I see more broadcasts for sewer teams in Atlas, and I see new people getting involved in Rikti ship runs.
I was on a ship raid the other day and just as things were about to get started, someone broadcast that they were looking for an AE boss mish team. After several people yelled that a raid was under way and that AE sucked and they should get out of the zone, they replied, "Oh... I mean, looking for raid team. Down with AE!" Hard to tell if they were being serious, either with the first or second broadcast, but it was amusing. ^_^
On the other hand, rare salvage seems to be growing more scarce... so I think some people are adjusting what they roll for.
my lil RWZ Challenge vid
Coulda been Lohenien.
Coulda been people getting out there and playing "Down with AE!" I dunno.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
All that lag and rubberbanding that was happening over the weekend...well, that was the weekend crew manipulating the market right there in Production. They too, are getting ready for 2XP weekend.
Repeat Offenders
OH NOES! I was afraid that you would confirm my fears of the game "returning to normal."
Now what do I do to get massive profit?

I won't believe it! There's no way that silly crusade could have more than a few followers and such a dramatic effect on the market! It just can't be true!
Aw hell, it just seems the universe conspires against me.

I'm noticing that the prices have completely crashed and I'm seeing a lot more for sale all the time. (Yes, I know they go hand in hand. More supply generally means lower prices.) One of the common salvages in particular, one I used to flip from 10k to 125k (sometimes as high as 200k), is now selling for 50k ABSOLUTE max, with many sales under 10k!
What's going on?
Are people... leaving the AE building? It can't be...
Is this just a market goof? Could it be some kind of random fluctuation that will go back to normal soon so I can keep flipping?
Maybe my ability to flip was only because of a random fluctuation and it already HAS returned to normal...

Its because everyones gearing up for 2x weekend. prices are going to fluctuate like mad for a bit.

I see 3 things that may (or may not) be factors short-term.
<ul type="square">[*] They just had a Rikti Event last week. Sure, I know that's old hat to some, but
there were plenty of folks trolling the zones for B.E.M Badges (Bug-Eyed-Monster)
producing some increased supply.[*] With the AE Drama of the past weeks, I think some measure of "shine" is starting
to peel off the AE facade. I still think that effect is minimal, but maybe we've crested
the MA hill and starting getting a few more players out into the "real" world (sic). Again,
a slight bump in supply.[*] Anticipation of 2XP weekend, from both Marketeers and folks actively planning their
play strategies for the weekend. However, if 2XP works in MA as well, I'd expect few
zone folks - AE levelling is still far and away faster - doubly so if 2XP works there.[/list]Personally, I think point #1 was the biggest contributor, and as of last night, it was
looking to me like some of those prices were climbing once again... YMMV

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.
Light is faster than sound - that's why some people look smart until they speak.
For every seller who leaves the market dirty stinkin' rich,
there's a buyer who leaves the market dirty stinkin' IOed. - Obitus.
This salvage wouldn't be temporary analyzers would it?
Notice the first word.
It was flooded. It is even possible a few people got tired of the prices and wanted to drive it down. In either case, it just goes to prove that marketeers cannot artificially sustain variance to profit over a long period of time.

Maybe someone who cares (or a group of someones) finally decided to do something about it. It wasn't me, but if I cared here's how I'd do it...
1) Get 7 trial accounts using Refer a Friend.
2) Make up 7 new villains, team them with a farmer.
3) Run them through a big farm, level 14 plus 1500 Tickets for them.
4) Train them all up for 30 Salvage and 12 transaction slots.
5) Load up all market slots with Salvage, 840 total for 250 Inf per item.
6) Some sells instantly, but you have tickets for 472 more Salvage.
It helps if you have a char with Recall Friend to TP the entire team to the Mercy AE, Arbiter, then back and forth between the Ticket Vendor and Black Market.
Each run is 1312 Salvage, 12 runs to fill every character slot is 15,750 Salvage. Plus your Farmer earns some tickets as well, though not as many if he's doing it right.
The problem is, this is a short term solution. You need to repeat this process if you want to make up for the Salvage being lost by people using the AE and not picking it.
As an alternative, try this...
Get a farmer, invite 7 PUG people to an AE farm where they can doorsit, make them listen to a 3 minute infomercial about the value of rolling Random Common Salvage, farm the map, then let them go. Make sure you research price points, compare the returns to Rare Salvage, etc. But obviously you only tell them stuff that will make them think they can get rich off Common Salvage. Repeat, making sure you don't repeat people (track their globals). In no time, you will have a dedicated sales force who will convert all of their tickets to Common Salvage. Best to do this on Freedom, where there are massive numbers of people who will probably fall for it.
Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
I've moved on to Diablo 3, TopDoc-1304
