Quote:Store inf on the market. Place a bid on a level 53 recipe for 2 billion.Well, in theory you could store inf in emails then. If thats the case, thats what I was looking to do as all my characters on my main server are capped and have no place to store inf. So if I email inf to myself I can store inf for a little bit until I make new character and then I can offload it to them.

My SG mate says: I made this one for tonight.

I hoard them and never use them. I do all the quests I can to get temporary powers, regardless of what they do.
I just like having a really really really long "Powers" tab. -
The only point I'm calling you out on, Sam, is when you effectively said that the sigils are easier to handwave away for concept reasons than a number in a power that you can't see and that will change.
That I just don't get. -

Poor Joe was upset to learn that not even the Menders of Ouroboros could undo this mistake in combining science, magic, and little purple flames.

Quote:It's a +As i recall there's a command/switch to activate a second power after the first if the button is held down for a second. Was it a - in front of one of the commands that does that? Been a while since i needed a bind to activate two powers in a row so i'm not sure if my recall is accurate.
Try /bind [key] "+$$powexectoggleon ninja run$$powexectoggleon sprint"
What the + does is activate the first power when the button is pressed, and activate the second power when the button is released. If you hit the button fast enough, it won't register. -
They're all powers, regardless of what they do, and they can't activate at the same time.
It has nothing to do with botting or exploits or the devs being sinister anti badge farming. The way powers are activated, they can only be done one at a time. The engine does not distinguish between attack power, travel power, ally buff power, self buff power or any other kind of power. They're all just powers. -
Quote:I would think you'd have a much harder time rationalizing the summoning sigils than you would a numerical value in the shield that no on sees unless they monitor their combat attributes and that changes as soon as you enhance it....but if I wanted to go with, say, a Technology or Science Mastermind, that little reference (if it's intentional) WOULD bug me.
Also, how does "if it's intentional" factor into the matter at all? Intended or not, it's there, and if you enhance, it goes away. -
/echo the good Doctor.
An all human warshade is tough and expensive to pull off, and in my opinion a TriFormShade of any expense will outperform a human form on the same budget. Again, that's just opinion and depends far too much on the person behind the wheel anyway.
Dwarf grants you mez protection. That alone makes it worth taking. Bonus HP and resist is great, too. The ability to double and even triple mire is such a decadent icing on the cake. There's also the seldom but greatly appreciated advantage of being an off-tank. When the team's tank drops, and ambush hits, or when things just get ugly, you can lobster up and help keep attention off the squishies.
Nova form grants you the ability to fling negative energy on a large scale. Eclipse and mire beforehand turns you into a veritable flying gunship that just doesn't die. Warshade forms in particular benefit from the human click style buffs that last a long time. -
I feel like I should redirect this thread to my discussion of:
"You are under no obligation to save me."
It begins with a tale of an overeager, micromanaging prat of a "healer." -
Quote:Try this. 5 + 5/3. Only truncate instead of round up.It's not 33%, it's 33.2% to get 666. 133% of 5 is 6.65, not 6.66.
Oh hell, I don't know.
The point is, the values are about one third more effective for fire across the board, so it seems like a coincidence. -
Like I said, check the values of the other resists, namely the fire demonling. I believe his fire resistance is 33% greater than that of his S/L resist.
I think 5% is a balanced number for the ember shield to give. The 33% greater that follows from being consistent creates the 6.66% in fire. I think it's just a coincidence. -
The base resist to all is 5%, but the FIRE resist is 6.66%. This is without enhancements. Check your numbers again.
EDIT: Also, cold resist I believe is 3.33%. The point is, it's an ember shield, so it boosts fire resist about 33% more and cold about 33% less. -
Quote:Then I really suggest getting into RP. It's not as hard as it sounds. Have you ever wished you had superpowers? Have you ever thought how you would act with superpowers?I tend to join lots of groups focused on lving and I'm kinda past that now.
The fact is you already make up a character. Odds are you base him/her off of yourself somehow. Just take it one step farther and act like it is you. How would you act if you knew some hostage was in danger and you could save him/her? How would you react to getting pounded by an AV? How would you feel after saving the day from a great evil?
Just think about it like you really are there and act like it. It's that easy, and it's a lot of fun.
If you decide to give it a shot, give me a ring in game. @Dechs Kaison -
First off, welcome back, and welcome to the forums!
If you're into RP at all, I'd suggest you check out the Paragon Universe. We're an RPSG on Virtue with plenty of active members.
If that's not your thing, then your best bet is likely Freedom server simply because of the high population. Just be warned: More people does mean you'll run into more rude/offensive/idiotic players, but there's definitely always something going on.
Scroll down the forums a bit to the server sections and make a post there. -
Quote:I can't think of a more complicated question you could have asked. Honestly, the dance depends very much on the build. The build depends very much on the particular play style of the player. Everyone else said it, I'm just an echo at this point: There are many different dances with all sorts of change ups.I've heard about "the Warshade dance", but could someone teach me the steps?
Shameless plug: Give this thread a read. The first post is mine, and it's the story of my warshade as he leveled up. After that are some varied builds, strategies, and playstyles from many other players. It's a great thread to learn from.
I typically start combat with SS+Shadow Cloak for complete invisibility. I'll use Eclipse, then mire nine times out of ten. The other one time out of ten I get stunned/held after the eclipse and have to go straight to dwarf.
After the eclipse/mire, half the time I go to nova form and make things melt. Half the remaining time I just go dwarf and scrap it out at the damage cap (my dwarf mire recharges fast enough to stack with itself). Occasionally I go to dwarf for a mire then go nova to get two massive damage AoE's off. Sometimes I do a gravity well on a minion -> Unchain Essence. Every once in a while I go dwarf long enough to get that third mire that puts me at the damage cap, then drop for a Quasar. I drop to human almost every time hasten or Extract Essence is up.
When I exemplar far enough that I don't have eclipse, things are very different. Usually I still start with SS+Shadow Cloak, and depending on the enemy I'll open up with Sunless Mire or Gravatic Emanation and follow up with the other. After that I shift to nova, drop for a stygian circle and go to dwarf when it gets hairy. If the enemy group is mez heavy, I say "To hell with it" and just TP in as dwarf and scrap 'em to death.
I could go on forever, really. There's just so much that you can do with a 'shade it's unreal. There's even much more to do that I, personally, cannot do because of the way I like to play my 'shade. A warshade is the epitome of adaptability and versatility in my opinion, and options equal power in my eyes.
In closing, read what's out there, but ultimately, remember that you decide how your warshade plays. -
Just read this.
My warshade has been, hands down, the most amazing ride to 50 of any character I've played. -

Incorrect. Lightning Rod, Shield Charge and Trip Mine are all examples of pseudopets which inherit your character's damage bonus, to include fury, build up, and set bonuses.

Quote:No, the fact is at the end of the day, that big heavy piece of whatever is there to protect you.But the fact is at the end of the day you have a big heavy peice of metal (Wood/Bone/Tech/Whatever) on your arm, you may as well hit people with it.
And you already can hit people with it. The shield defense powerset comes with shield charge. -
Quote:Steadfast +def is a global bonus. It doesn't care what power it's in or when that power is used. If it's a level 30 IO in a level 47 power, you'll have the extra defense all the way to level 27.5) Hoarfrost needs to be slotted with Recharge and Heals, much more so than it is in your build. I suggest 5-slotting it with Doctored Wounds. The Steadfast Protection +Def proc is also a bit of a waste there, and could probably go somewhere better. Although, there, it will be of use when exemping. But still, it's only going to be active all the time if you're using Hoarfrost a lot.
