Quote:Oblits are a bad idea for several reasons. Also, would you recommend filling the AoEs with Oblits (to cap melee defense and increase recharge) or Erad (for the energy defense and max endurance) plus two or three others (possibly Fury of the Gladiator, which, although expensive, can give KB protection). If I go with Erad frankenslotting, where would I make up the recharge?
1. Pitiful endurance slotting.
2. Melee defense is nice until you realize most of the -def in the game is ranged. At least with S/L tags, you protect yourself from that kind of thing.
I've got two builds posted on the blog, one for my brute and one for my tank. Those can probably give you plenty of ideas. -
Quote:Looks like he said all the forms to me.So, you are saying that you would run DA/Sta w/ the endurance form, possible chain GS>SR>IS>SS?
But yeah, I'm going to make my staffer paired with DA. Then again, I pair everything I can with DA. -

I can agree with all of that. And I really like your signature.

Quote:Willpower is just too boring for me. It either works or it doesn't.Willpower. Just set it and forget it, and never need to worry about Mez again.
I like Dark Armor because I like having buttons that keep me on my feet or put me back on my feet or stun everything trying to kill me.
I'd take Invulnerability before Willpower because I'd still have Dull Pain for a reaction type power. -
Do I have to answer?
Fine.
Warshades and Dark Armor. -

Quote:To be exact, it's 2409.5OK, so the MAX HP for PB must be higher than I was thinking....Thanks for that, I might try to find 2 more slots, I'm going to be going for high +Recharge eventually, just not there yet.

Quote:Range IO or no, the target caps are still different. Em caps at 10, Det at 16.If you can live without the proc, it'll hit way more targets than Detonation if you throw a Range IO in there. I'm curious about what you'd think of my build, but I'm a Mids' noob.
I'd gladly give your build a once over. PM or email it. -
I like Emanation more. It does more damage and recharges more often. It does hit less targets though.
-
Dark armor guide in my sig goes into more detail, but yes, the auras suppress while hidden.

I aim for T3 Alpha, then T3 Destiny for a level shift and a power I use often, then T3 Lore for a level shift and a power I don't use often. Somewhere in here I get a T1 Judgement.
After that, I build T4 Interface because I like damage procs. -
Quote:I wanted to explain my alternative, and I would have if I ever felt you had more desire than to just throw personal insults at me. Yeah, I shouldn't have kept responding to those. I apologize to the OP for the long thread derail.I also do believe my opinion has shifted from my original point, something you seem to be unable to compute. However, it doesn't change the fact that I have accepted that a GOOD and REASONABLY BALANCED alternative is acceptable.
The alternative I had from the very beginning is for my main, a Bots/Traps mastermind. The threats to the world have been continuing to increase and he is doing what he's always done to stop them: Adapt. He saw people chasing after the well to defeat gods, but he remembered how he had handed Recluse his helmet. He didn't need godly powers to compete with gods, he needed his lab. Technology builds on itself, always growing faster. That is the power he relied on.
Now you can claim that it does indeed stem from the Well and the human potential. You could claim that some of the tech he uses "just shouldn't work." That can even be your character's interpretation of it. But my character refuses to acknowledge the Well as his source of power. It has always been his wit and his tech, and in his mind, he will continue on that path. -
Quote:Other people acknowledged my mistakes? I seem to remember four people telling you that I have not insulted you.You can't even accept that you possibly made a mistake, one that even other people have acknowledged you did. But, that's the beauty of opinions. You'll never grow as a person if you think in absolutes, Dechs.
And you tell me I'm dealing in absolutes when anyone who doesn't conform to your beliefs is the failure as a roleplayer?
I really have to thank you. I couldn't make you look this bad if I tried. -
Quote:Now we have a difference of opinion again. I would describe my thought process as "rational" and yours as very "emotional."You... don't get it. But that's okay. It's a robotic point of view you're using, and that's fine. I'll leave it at that. I'm way too tired of this back and forth.
But now we're down to semantics. -
Quote:Oh that's totally happened before and is completely in character for him. Hit him with a quantum gun and he'll go ballistic on anything in range.@Dechs. I'll have to take a read through your link a bit later considering that I don't have much time until my next class. >.< Aside from that, I see a lot of potential here. If Teven is fueling his nictus, who is fighting the demon's control...i wonder what would happen if he ever became weakened during combat and the demon took over for a while...*hint hint*

Quote:I would love to be a part of this. Fortunately, I already have a lot of the information you're looking for posted! My Duct Tape video showcases four of my favorite costumes. I have a bit of an intro to the character here.If any of you are interested in being included in my little project, I would greatly appreciate some information about your characters. Who was your character before they became a Kheldian? How did they get their Kheldian abilities? What do they look like (a pic of their costume, if not I'll imagine one based on what information you give me.) How do you play your Kheldian, Are you a stealthy warshade, or an in-your-face behemoth? What are your intentions as a Kheldian, world domination, defeating the nictus, saving kittens?
Basically, though, Tevan was a short, fat, and already balding 26 year old accountant in Steel Canyon when he was abducted by the Circle of Thorns to be used in their Nictus experiments. The Thorns wanted a Nictus-Demon-Hybrid, but the Nictus energy could only bind to humans, so they did the next best thing. Turn a human into a Nictus, then have him possessed by a demon so they could control him.
Except that the Nictus fought back against the demon. So poor Tevan is now struggling through life while two voices rage back and forth in his head. As long as he keeps fighting crime (or whatever else) he keeps the Nictus fed with energy to fight off the Demon's control. This leads to a lot of irritability and random outbursts mixed with an irrational need to start any kind of trouble he can.
The entire mix might be a bit too volatile for a comic, but it's here if you want to try. -
Quote:[over the top emphasis so you know I'm joking] Oh, quit your whining!I'm amused by how I can spot Autumn Turning in 4 different shots ... and she's almost always on the periphery of each of those shots. Heck, one of them has the camera panning behind her head at a distance of like 2 ft in the final shot (I recognized the hair and tips of the shoulders). For all the other shots she's in, it's like she can barely even squeeze into frame ... which I find mildly hilarious.
As far as I can tell, Curse is only in one shot. You know, the one with all of us in a line up. [/over the top emphasis so you know I'm joking]
No, but really? This video is still awesome. I may very well be in a few shots, but if I am, I look like the same as the other ten ocean beasts. -
Quote:Ah, I see the problem. What Dechs was doing was looking down at me, and insulting my intelligence. This is what I found to be insulting, far more than any single word. The catalyst for this was having an unpopular opinion, but also saying (abrassively, admittedly), that people who can't work within a setting are bad roleplayers.
Let me explain that pointing out logical fallacies does not equate to insulting your intelligence.
For instance: If I point out you're driving with a flat tire, that means that you have problems with your car, but it's certainly not the same as calling you a bad driver or a stupid person for driving with a flat tire.
You may not like that I have pointed out the logical fallacies, and there's no reason you should. If you have logical fallacies in your argument, it means your argument either has nothing to stand on or is being defended with invalid reasoning.
Nothing I have said was a personal insult or an attack of your intelligence. I have not been looking down on you. I have merely pointed out weaknesses in your argument and holes in your defense. Nothing more. -
Except I am innocent, Reppu. I may have had harsh words, but they have never been personal insults. Four additional people have tried to tell you this now. I wish we could have discussed this in a civil manner.
Enjoy yourself in game. -
Quote:Thanks for the shout out, Justaris.Best bet is his website, which has some brief discussion on it as well as a very complete guide on tanking in general.

Quote:Except that I have not claimed to be superior to you. Again with the straw man. You attack a position that I do not hold. I have only claimed that my characters can demonstrate superior performance than yours. Maybe that claim is false, but I'll leave it up to you to refute with evidence. Don't call it an ad hominem. That's a straw man. Also, an example of ad hominem is the following statement:
When suggesting your superiority, you are inflicting inferiority to me. As such, you are claiming your superiority is based purely off my inferiority. As such, your entire argument is based purely off this one line of logic "I am superior and you are inferior."
Until you demonstrate that you're willing to discuss anything with civility, I'm done with you.
Quote:2) My apologies for pointing this out, but you and Dechs did strike the first aggressive, rude, and confrontational blows. Should you both had also chosen to word yourselves a bit more carefully, this never would have happened and we'd probably be better off and having a much friendlier conversation or debate.
Quote:In my opinion, specifically MY OPINION, if you can't work the Well of the Furies into your tight and special snowflake backstory, you've failed as a roleplayer anyway.
My response was harsh, but attacked only your opinion for being close minded and intolerant. After that, you didn't ask if I had alternatives, you didn't ask for my explanation. You went on an ad hominem, straw man rampage.
Again, you've shown your colors. You demonstrate no desire to discuss with civility in mind. I chose every one of my words carefully, intending no personal insult to you at all. I attack your words, your stance, how you defend it, and nothing more. You have attacked me. You have misrepresented my stance. You have slung insults at me.
