Taunt is most certainly auto-hit and has, in my experience, been more than sufficient to keep LR aggro. The notion "if a tank is just taunting then he's doing it wrong" is quite frankly - wrong.
I wonder if that tank took the pool power Provoke, which is not auto-hit.
It's also possible (and I'm not inclined to do the number crunching right now) that if a no to low recharge build (say a stoner in Granite with no bonuses) also did not slot any Taunt durations, then it may be possible LR is resisting (shortening the duration of) Taunt before the next Taunt can be fired.
To other OP questions
I too thought the Flyer behavior was odd a few times (out of the dozens of times I've done this over the past 5 days). As the OP described, it was just hanging out on the plaza and it was not prone to move, whether taunted, attacked or debuffed and yes, line of sight was broken. Eventually it would move about, though I do remember once when it wouldn't.
The arachnos bombs have been around from the beginning. They pack a whallop.
The seemingly random ambush also happened to me once. At the time I thought we must have missed them clearing around the statue, or that someone had aggrod them while coming from the hosp. It seemed odd but I thought nothing of it. -
Quote:LR learned, from so many people using that trick in his service, to not allow himself to be taken that way. He can't be slept until yellow (orange?) tower is down.possibly...just have to keep him slept while you take out the towers
I too want to give props to the OP, great achievement! -
I went with "Dude Widow". Pretty self-explanatory.

Quote:If you solo lvl 54 LR, I will tip my hat to you for the greatest achievement I've ever heard of in this game.Yeah its a regular run so i could get some temps and shivans/nukes. I planned to pull two at a time on the last mission.
And for LR i was going to rely on sleet/insps to deal wity the bosses he spawns. I have extremely high dps when my decoys do as they are told so killing LR SHOULDN'T be too bad. And yes im level shifted
I moved my ill/rad to vill side just to fight the AVs/Heros in Scirocco's arc, including LR at the end. He simply summons too many Banes as the fight goes on, distracting PA (sort of ironic since they're intended to be a distraction) and causing LR to focus on me. I couldn't beat him until I summoned a Shiv and Mary to help.
Good luck with this. I just think LR is 10x the problem Aeon presents. -
Maybe the strike target will provide impetus to the devs to cover the glaring hole of a level 30-35 sf. There's nothing to pair up with Manticore.
-
No, the DE tip missions spawn bosses regardless, I recall Castle commenting on that being WAI.
-
Not a bug.
If it's "full of bosses" I'm guessing you have the spawn size setting pretty high. Drop it down, then there will only be an end room boss. -
I'm going back to my "2nd tier" of 50s these days. That is, I've made my builds for the toons I play most of the time, now on to ones I play some of the time.
Next up - a Dual Blades / Willpower Scrapper. Mostly on basic IOs at the moment, I did enjoy a smooth leveling experience with this Scrapper and I find she performs satisfactorily at 50 as is.
I don't have the highest amibitions for her, just teamming and helping out my lowbies on another account when needed (not PL, just tough missions for say, a Defender). So, nothing expensive here - no purples, no glad armors.
Hopefully that sets the stage for what I do with this toon and what I'm hoping to do.
Build-wise, my goal was to soft-cap s/l def, get some sweet recharge (50ish percent) with miscellaneous HP and Regen bonuses.
I'm pretty pleased with this, ended up with 49.8% s/l Def (or 46.5 w/o Maneuvers). I'm ok with being over given that WP is light on DDR. Recharge is 52.5%, HP = 1960, regen = 51.81 hp/sec, recovery 3.98 end/sec.
What I'm waffling about is Maneuvers vs Stealth. Either accomplishes my ultimate goal for the pick - LOTG mule. Maneuvers gives +Def to all, and a cushion to Def debuffs, but Stealth would give me full invis (with Stealth io), helpful on the type of tfs I like to participate in (speedy).
So, I would appreciate any feedback, building Scrappers isn't a strength of mine.

Just curious, does Foot Stomp (among the kd powers) do kb when level shifted on even cons?
-
This problem is at "red alert" status, just had 4 team crashes on last mission of STF when we had to bail. One team crash came when we were just about to start towers. Someone needs to get on this asap.

Enquiring minds....... -
Quote:I'm going to be contrarian and not join the "poop on Sonic Resonance" party.I agree. I think my experience of it so far has been... dull and uninspiring. It works, after a fashion but offers nothing tangible that other sets don't have, plus lacks any (for want of a better expression) excitement. Most other Controller secondaries offer something cool and different - Storm is uber crazy, Trick Arrow is a jack of all trades, Thermal gives good buffs, debuffs and some useful heals, radiation is the "ultimate takedown" set and cold gives some great slows and debuffs. Sonic, by comparison, gives unmitigated blandness
Anyone can build a troller with soft-capped def to s/l using Stone, Ice or Mace. Some do it easier than others (+Def aura in Cold, Storm, and of course, FF) but it's possible for anyone. What Sonic gives is solid mez protection and a chance to build up some solid resists (especially with Tough). You could even go down a different path to build up Ranged Def, take a resist shield in the epic and hard cap s/l and have strong resists for whatever else your epic covers. No other controller secondary can do this.
With that, you can focus on your primary powers, without worrying about being mezzed (sleeps excepted of course) or hardly being hit and, when hit, it's like a pin-*****. It also makes you a solid contributor on speed end-game tfs. This is where "My mezzes are my defense" don't work, especially on speed LGTF.
I'll stop with "what Sonic can do for me" and not get into its team buff/debuff contributions, which I think are under-rated too, and again, are quite good for speed tfs (buff and run). -
How do you know it wasn't effective during your AV fights? Defeating an AV isn't as simple as using a -regen power and then profit.
I just tested with a lvl 50 mob (even con to my Trapper) and -regen was in effect for around 30 seconds. The 10 seconds is the duration of a "pulse" (not sure if that's the actual term) and it pulses many times. Whether "many" = every 10 seconds or more frequently (I'm betting on the latter) I'm not sure.
The bottom line is, the debuff lasts for 30 seconds from one instance of PGT. At least that was the result of what I just found. So, the short and sweet answer to your question is "absolutely not". Your AV soloing problems were more a function of survivability and DPS. You also need to 3 slot recharge on an SO build.
Whenever you have a question regarding a power's effect you can craft a Power Analyzer mk 3 (or 2 or 1, depending on your level) and see for yourself. -
I built up my Defender for soft-capped Def, so 6 slots for Shield Breaker in Acid. No that set doesn't get you to ED recharge cap, but global recharge and the recharge alpha more than make up for it.
-
Yeah, I think Plant is a 1-trick pony. That pony is Secretariat though. As was mentioned, the aoe immob is key, and I didn't see that mentioned in the OP.
Well slotted Seeds easily allows a dom to up the spawn size. However, you may want to dial it back down when dealing with confuse resistant mobs: Nemesis, Longbow Wardens with leadership, not sure who else. -
I've never put the 2 together, but I'm going to cast a vote for Electric/.
My experience with elec is limited to a Dom I've leveled up this weekend. Even in this limited play, it's clear that this is a very endurance friendy set. Sonic Resonance is most decidedly endurance unfriendly set. Maybe the two balance out. -
This is true statement for all aspects of life. Abhishek Bachchan may disagree, since he knows the reality of living 24/7 with Ash, but I don't.
Oh and to OP's statement, "Never change Bollywood" this movie was Tamil, so technically not Bollywood, but Tollywood, for realz. -
Quote:I'll /sign this! Munch is fine (I liked several others more), as long as the other detective is Pembleton.I wouldn't really consider Robocop to be a detective TV show.
I would like to see a detective added that would be a reference to Detective Munch from Homicide: Life on the Street, and perhaps some other Homicide references too.
If they wanted to take it to the next level, use detective names from "The Wire". -
Let's look at some actual numbers.
Fighting +4s (the "worst case" for a lvl 50, at least today), base to-hit is .39.
Most Kinetics users take Tactics, I know I do for each and every one of mine. This is the Controller forum so let me use troller Tactics numbers - .10 unslotted, let's say .15 slotted.
.39 + .15 makes To-Hit = .54. To get to .95 final to-hit, accuracy needs to = (.95/.54 - 1) = .76. One lvl 50 Accuracy IO provides .424, leaving .76-.424 = .336. So if your global Accuracy is 34% (which is low, quite frankly for a decent set build), then 1 Accuracy is more than sufficient. "But what about -ToHit debuffs or +Def buffs?" I'm sure somewhere in that insp tray is a yellow. FWIW, taking the Kismet unique drops the extra Acc number to .16.
Now on to Recharge. One could say, "I want to eke out every microsecond I can for FS". In that case, sure, 3-slot recharge. Another could say "I want to find a reasonable amount of recharge to keep the buff up and have the power available for every new spawn on a fast-moving team". That's pretty much my M.O. Let's look at 3 scenarios - 1) no recharge bonuses 2) pretty good recharge bonuses (siphon speeds, hasten, global) let's go with 50% 3) ludicrous speed - 150% and 4 different slotting options for each scenario:
Code:So, those are the numbers. You can make your own assessment about what's right for you. For me, I'm quite satisfied with 1 acc + 1 recharge for FS, on a mature build.Global Rch ------------------------------------------- # of IOs IO Enh | 0 0.5 1.5 ----------------------------------------------------------- 0 0 | 60 40 24 1 0.424 | 42.13483146 31.18503119 20.51983584 2 0.8332 | 32.72965307 25.71575519 18.00072003 3 0.9908 | 30.13863773 24.08864622 17.18803713
-
I imagine those guides are based on SOs. 5 max for leveling up. A strong recharge oriented build can do with far less. My IO build has 2 slots and even the recharge in that isn't getting me much, if I took that 1 Rch IO out, FS would go from 18.2 seconds to 20.8.
-
What I did:
Took recharge out of Sonic Siphon (given the 30 second duration of the debuff and that it can't be stacked with itself, I don't slot rch here)
I decided to shoot for s/l soft-cap, so switched in Kinetic Combats into Seismic Smash
Took out the 2 Concealment powers to open up Tough/Weave. That's right, more toggles!
I'm cheating with Centrioles in Sonic Haven to free up slots. Your own sense of ethics may not allow for that.
I'm thinking Hasten will be a help, for the long recharge Earth powers more than anything. With your global recharge, just a 2nd slot will make Hasten close to perma. Though it pains me to get rid of Quicksand, that strikes me as your best choice to switch with.
I splurged to upgrade the hold set in Volcanic Gasses to purples + Lockdown proc. Hey, it's not my money. If you want to keep Basilisks Gaze, that's fine, but I do think the lockdown proc is nice here.
Just left Earth's Embrace with 1 slot with lvl 50 recharge, that makes it perma with Hasten and at HP cap.
I threw in Winter's Gift unique into SJ, just cause I like it.
I substituted the Posi proc for dmg/range, since you were so far over ED, this actually increases expected damage.
There are some other changes I didn't document...
Let's look at some before and after numbers
s/l Def: Before 35.6, After 45.5
Other Def types up around 6+ percent.
s/l Res: Before 17.6, After 41.1
Other Res types about the same
Recovery: Before 3.62 end/sec, After 3.55 end/sec
Regen: Before 182%, After 180%
Recharge: Before 91.3%, After 88.8% w/o Hasten, 158.8% with Hasten (which is down around 15ish seconds)
EndDrain: Before 1.46/sec, After 1.91/sec (this is with all toggles including Disruption)
I did you no favors with end consumption. I think any Sonic Resonance user has to take the Cardiac Alpha slot and this is no exception, which will make a big difference for the endurance issue.
People can be particular about their travel powers so I left the choice of SJ alone, however, SS with the Stealth IO will make you PVE invis, a choice I'd make for my build.
A lot of people poo-poo Sonic Resonance and I can't say they're totally wrong. However, I've noticed I've been able to make some very interesting builds with it, my Defender, for example, has soft-capped range def and hard capped s/l resists. Building def on a squishy with mez protection and resists creates a tough hombre.

Mind adding your data chunk? I get errors when I click on the datalink (I do for any datalink). I'd love to see the build.

I do give props to the geek references in game.
I can't narrow it down to 1, here's my 3 favorite:
In GW's arc, you have to kidnap Dr. Crowe, Dr. Servo and Dr. Nelson
Betty Jo Bialoski - Actually this one is #1 for me, from the "Nick Danger, Third Eye" sketch from Firesign Theatre. Great skit. She only shows up in scanners and lots of nods to the original sketch "you may have known her as Nancy".
Technician Naylor - a tip of the hat to Red Dwarf -
Well mine's a little more embarassing, but here goes...
I heard music that you hear at Mashu Bridge in Brickstown, also in PI and other locales, in a movie that was... adult oriented, shall we say.
