Or you could learn to play your bots and utilize the KB effectively instead of feeling like you have to fight against it.
but you know...to each his own

I even hear some people take Scorpions cone for even more knockback!
or use the knockup/-back powers from FF to... control
And in the end, they use force wall to pin the mobs against walls, so all that knockback is basically knockdown, and the whole gang is nicely stacked on on the burn patches and the other AoE goodness. -
Well, first of all, Assbot comes a lot earlier.
I found myself kinda underimpressed by my Bots until I got my third bot. After that, the set was a blast. I really had the feeling of getting a -lot- more efficient each time I gained another power. The trend continued til Lvl 49.
One thing that changed my perception of the set was when I switched from a "let the pets do the work" to a more agressive, tankerminding, style. Depending on secondary and playing style, YMMV. -
*sigh* You're not the only one trying to point that out.
But... well, you know... DPS PWNZ0RZ ALL!!!11 -
The one in Cap is labled "Facemaker Surgeon", it's a tiny difference, but it should be enough.
I had to look around too, it would have been nice if some sort of notice was in game. -

Petite female troller wannabe in human form. The fear powers from the presence pool are -very- useful for comedic value, especially since they're almost unseen in game.
A lot of hilarity ensues when someone asks "What power was that?"
My favorite is: "Let me tell you about Dwarf/Nova mating rituals!", followed by Invoke Panic and Shapeshift."

It may sound like it, but I am not saying that thugs pwns everything. However, it has most of the advantages of bots and mercs combined but none of the disadvantages.
[/ QUOTE ]
Disadvantages in Bots, when compared to Thugs? Not seeing em.
Thugs is DPS, first and foremost.
Control: Bruiser - 2 ST Stuns, 2 AoE stuns
Buffs: Double Maneuvers from Enforcers.
Bots:
Control: Photon Grenade
AssBot: ST Stun, AoE Stun
ProtBot: Photon Grenade, up to 4 Seeker Drones
Buff: Repair Robot
ProtBot: Force Shields (partially stacked), Heal
While Thugs might be stronger in the DPS department, it's survivability is way below Bots. Now... what advantages aside from DPS (argueable) do Thugs have? -
Well, 4 slotting it to get the stun bonus from a stupefy set kinda makes it...
*goes and shoots himself* -
My fav villain: bots/ff
Lemme see...
Everything under boss strength is permastunned and/or flopping around the map due to massive amounts of knockback-down-up-around - oh, dead already.
Let's not even get started with melee opponents. *puuuush*
Bosses are flopping around and/or attacking me. missmissmiss- gotta love softcapped defense - missmissmiss -oh, hit - health didn't move, yay bodyguard, yay tough, yay patron +res power. Oh, he's dead.
Most EBs are pushed into a corner and slowly roasted. While still not managing to hurt me.
Bots don't get attacked, thanks to provoke. AoEs hit em, no they don't, praise the bubbles. Oh look, one got hit.. good thing they're so tough. Oh look he got hit again, go Protbot!
Oh no, I'm in trouble, worst case, all bots are dead. PFF up - run hide - yawnstretchrecover - go back, wreak vengeance.
I'll stick with my tanktrollermind, thank you. -

Even though I haven't commented til now...

First of all, welcome to CoH and the forums.
There's a lovely Guide to Kin/Elec, it's somewhat outdated, but a lot of the basics are covered.
A decent kin/elec depends a lot on your playing style and team choices. What works for one player will cause repeated faceplanting for another. Generally, you'll find yourself in melee range very often, and have to plan ahead for it.
I noticed you skipping short circuit. I'd never leave home without it. Well slotted, you can drain almost all minions with 1 - 2 applications. Transfusion, Ball lightning, and your elec attacks will keep em down, negating a lot of potential damage.
Also, you should invest some influence into the Energy Manipulator: Chance for Stun Proc. It's pretty cheap at WWs, and give you an additional factor of safety, especially when slotted into your AoEs.
Perma-hasten is nigh-impossible, unless you have influence to burn. Only very specific builds can pull it off, and only by spending insane amounts to achieve IO-Set boni. You'll prolly be running perma-Siphon Speed, with Hasten up 2/3rds of the time, which is already very impressive.
I'd advise against using siphon speed as your travel power. While it does work well in lower levels, later on (with increasing spawn size) attacking a spawn of outdoor mobs will get you aggro, and - if you're unlucky - debt. Also, Super Speed grants you partial stealth, which will protect you from being attacked while whizzing by mobs most of the time. There's also the very real danger of being ganked when it dies on you in the wrong place.
You're better off grabbing Inertial Reduction as a travel power, it's usually the one people refer to when saying kin has a built in travel power.
Stamina is a personal choice. Once you get transference, you should be fine, but I'd never skip it, nonetheless. Basically, taking stamina costs you three power picks, but you save a lot of slots dedicated for endurance reduction / end mod.
Fire/kin is a controller build, which was/is very popular for it's relatively safe method of dishing out good damage. It's a totally different playing style, and goal, than a kin/elec.
You can make custon buttons "macros". Best to check out the many guides on it.
Oh, and the "backspace" key (looks like this: <---) is what you need to reply to tells quickly.
Disclaimer: All info above is AFAIK, IIRC, IMHO and YMMV
Edit:
I decided to add the kin/elec I'm currently running, for comparison.

um, there's several dozen+ f2p MMOs, many, many more if you include eastern MMOs.
sarcasm doesn't work if it's uniformed.

Oh no, please don't bring those up.
Sorry, but comparing the "free grinders" to pay2play MMORPGs doesn't do the latter any justice. -

I'm hoping that for Double XP the AE gets HALF xp actually...

Pretty much sums it up for me, too. -

Ninjas/Mercs/Thugs? Well, here's where it gets a bit iffy. Still, if your followers are devoted/fanatic enough in the cause of good, they'll grab the bomb from your hand and take off running because THEY REALLY WANT TO!
[/ QUOTE ]
The problem with that being that the game mechanics actually make them drop the bomb and run away to preserve theselves.
Edit: Not that I've ever noticed that...
Moar edit: Not that I was looking...
Final edit: Don't look at me like that! They're fodder, after all. -

And what about Detonator in Traps? I suppose with that one the henchman at least tries to get rid of the bomb...

What are greys? You mean the aliens or the shade?

The aliens. I think it's suppressed abduction memories. Or just X-COM.

Oh, and I thought you meant the grey children/babies from silent hill *shudders* -
Isn't it awesome how someone can drop an obscure game reference and there's always some people saying "Oooh, I remember that one." Kinda like Spherical or Turricane.

BTT: With the tools at our disposal, we should be able to make a PC with the described Attributes. Grab a VEAT and go wild.
hmm... Dr. Bozo McSpider... *walks off muttering to himself* -
My first toon was a mind/kin/fire, a very team-oriented hold/buff build, with stealth and teleport added in for more supporting. (Gotta love stealthing through the map, teleporting the team in, confusing the AV to take out his followers and removing any aggro). Of course, soloing pre-fireball was heeeell.
Then I decided to make an earth/storm/earth on a whim. <3 <3 <3 <3
It was better suited to almost any situation than the mind/kin, could solo decently, and allowed so many insane moves that left the team going "You did WHAT?!? Why are you still alive?" Also, the massive amounts of control it handed out prevented sooo many wipes. Eight man group somehow managed to aggro 4-5 spawns? Woohoo, I can finally use those inspirations I've been hoarding.
So... there's still lots of love for earth, here. -
The discussion isn't really about buying or not buying. Most people in this thread stated they'd buy the pack no matter what, but they felt the scaling options were more appropiate for a general release instead of a super booster.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I will never understand why some people are so obsessed with how fast *other* people are leveling. How fast I PL my alt has nothing to do with anybody else. The world would be a far better place if people would just direct all that misguided energy to more worthy... causes.
[/ QUOTE ]
I ocassionally find myself ranting about those L45+ ishs without a single Vet badge who (for some strange reason), still haven't figured out how to utilize their AT/powers decently.
You know, the ones who got PL'd and cause wipe after wipe until leave/kicks occur.
So, in more cases than are comfortable, it does effect others. -
You'd still need 3 Bridges for 3 PL victims. Thus, AE allows up to seven to profit of it, when compared to the 3 benefitting from it otherwise.
You also lose the necessity to switch out bridges after a few runs because they've dinged and moved the victims off the "optimal level span" -
[ QUOTE ]
However, those were never sold as a part of ANY micro-transaction (they were a free part of the free pre-order).
[/ QUOTE ]
Still, a lot of people actually bought the stuff for the little extra goodie, even though it wasn't necessary.
It basically made them into "one month of play + some minor goodies" for 30ish$. When compared to the current boosters, they give a lot more for less. -
[ QUOTE ]
Here's my suggestion....
Its for a Spine/Dark scrapper that I have on Test Server that I plan to level in readiness for Going Rogue. This will be her second outfit when I get to lvl 20.
I use all pieces except the boots and the mask... It probably would be more visible if I used the Mini-vest, but the Leather Jacket sort fitted better (Leather theme).... still might go with the mini-vest, I'm undecided.
