Man, I tried to get to the video at eight o'clock in the morning and the bandwidth limit was still exceeded.
Is there someone with a little extra hosting space who could mirror it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Page 15, there's a mirror site listed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh, I forgot that the defualt posts-per-page is so low here.
Found it on page 5 for me, http://rapidshare.de/files/1965560/Thankyou.wmv.html -

Captain Mako?
Is he made from the energy from Final Fantasy 7 of the same name (mako)?
All about FF7 Mako
I know that there is a Mako shark, but as a gamer, sharks are not what I think of first.
[/ QUOTE ]
If he looks like a shark, swims like a shark, and has a laser strapped to his forehead like a shark, he's a shark. -
I've had a few returned-from-the-dead characters myself. I mean, it is comics after all.

I'd love to get Guildwars but my wife is comes from a relgious background and frankly its annoying that every fantasy games degenerates into involving demons and undead which she is very much against. It would be nice to have an fantasy MMO that just stuck to dragons, monsters and goblins.
[/ QUOTE ]
So...no one's told her about the Vahzilok, Circle of Thorns and Banished Pantheon? -
It would be nice if a character automatically got a badge at a year old, 6 months, 2 years, etc. The holiday badges are nice but don't neccesarily mean anything, since someone could've been away from the game that weekend, or simply not bothered getting them on all their characters.

So awesome.
Except the thugs are called Hellions and look like Outcasts. -
I actually did some work last December in making a CoH version of MtG using a card editor I found, made cards for all the 'lands' (neighborhoods) but lost interest when I figured out how long it would take to get screenies of all the villians.
This'd be interesting to see, although I'd have no one to play with and little motivation to spend money on it. -
You know, I've honestly never thought about what might come after CoV. Oh, sure, I expect there will be an Issue of stuff that didn't make it into CoV (like Issue 1 was), but beyond that...any extra awesome and the game would collapse.
-
Who's really the majority here, people who like Kheldians or people who don't have a clue what to do with them? Me, I'm in the "happy" camp. In my experience my Warshade (35) is quite powerful and being able to go from blaster to tank in the middle of a fight is an amazing ability. You say that Nova != Blaster and Dwarf != Tank. Well freakin duh, they're not supposed to. But if things go bad can a blaster start tanking? If he wants to die after 1 hit, sure. Can a tanker start doing heavy damage when things are going smooth and aggro management isn't needed? Maybe if he's a fire...
It sounds like what you're asking is that we be so overpowered that we can replace blasters, tankers, and maybe scrappers/controllers in any team we joined....ha ha ha. Yea, I'm sure that's gonna happen. -

No one mentioned Doc Whedon's badge yet? Possibly a reference to Joss Whedon, though I don't know how much Comic Book work he'd done by the time the badge was added to Perez Park.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aside from the Buffy and Angel comics, I believe he's had a stint writing for X-Men.
Oh, and not watching Serenity when it comes out makes Tam and Mat cry. And baby Laser Jesus too. But mostly Tam and Mat.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea, he's on it now, but I don't think that had started at the time the name was given. -

And do you really think theres going to be a serious content update after Issue 4 before CoV releases? I doubt it seriously. Cryptic is a small house. They'll need the spring and summer to do some serious crunch time to make sure they meet their projected CoV release date.
Issue 5, in my opinion..is a long way off, somewhere around next January.
[/ QUOTE ]
CoV is a long, long way off still. Like, I'm thinking Fall '05 here. They won't even start beta testing til May at the earliest, if that bit about 12-month players actually means something. We'll get I4 beginning of Spring, I5 beginning of Summer, the CoV/I6 depending on how long that takes.
Unless you're saying there will be no Issues from March til next Janurary, in which case, damn, you're pessimistic. -

Sorry, just remembered an old Statesman post and I figured I'd get the speculation train rolling.
Remember when he said this?
Now, I was ready to bet my soul that it would be 1. Arena and 2. Skills.
Now we know skills will NOT be in Update 4, so then, what was the other thing?
[/ QUOTE ]
End-game content or a new EAT...I'd go with EAT. More End-game content would just piss off the people who say they cater to powergamers even more, plus it would shut up the people who are always moaning about how they deserve an EAT based on how much money they've paid them or something. -
I think that mission thing is fixed in Iss 3, you just have to "set" the mission, even if you're solo. As it is currently, it can be fixed by having the owner click on the contact who gave it to him.
-
Personnally my bet's always been that CoV won't get released til next August. They've got LOTS of time to finish PvP before then.
-
The map shows it as being North-east, but it's just an insert, it's actually way off in the Atlantic somewhere.
Edit: [ QUOTE ]
Sorry to spoil the fun, guys, but that date is certainly not THE day. It all depends upon the bugs we squash and so forth. He asked "When's Issue 3 coming out?" and I said "Heck, a week? It all depends on the bugs." There's no set schedule, though next Tuesday would be nice.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pretty much what I figured.
Obviously, Thursday is The Day. -

First off, the 5th Element will be going away
[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ]
The Council will be headquartered on Spriga Isle.
[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ]
This area just north of Talos Island
[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ]
Since the area is controlled by The Council, there will not be a trainer available
[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ]
The Council are allying themselves with alien beings, a race calling themselves the Kheldians.

How many did you find?
wait...this wasn't a game?

Don't forget the "Ancillary", also "largest free expansion ever"...Issue 1 was far bigger than this, and even Issue 2 was probably larger. -
Nice article, but there's more than a few inaccuracies...if there's a big bug still on test (I'm thinking of the one that makes Kheldians crash every 10 minutes here) I'm sure it'll still get pushed back, interview or no interview.
-
Interview? Link?
Edit: Your bumping is going to get you in trouble, you know. -
I'm hoping for Snow.
(they have said they're tweaking the zone graphics)
Although 4/5 would be the easiest. -
You're right. And even names like Hulk or Wolverine, which are words in the English language, should legally be fine if the character attached to them is nothing like the Marvel version (names like Captain America might not be however).

Ah - one more thing. We're adding a new Inspiration that you can use to wake up from Sleep, Stun, Hold & Immobilize.
Yep - so if you're stunned, wobbling back and forth - you can use this Inspiration and WHAMMO - you're ready for action.
[/ QUOTE ]
While this is a good step, isn't it redundant with the Iron Will-type inspirations? I mean yea, using these after-the-fact does mean you've lost your toggles, so there's some use for pre-emptive inspirations, but it's not efficient to carry both and it was never practical to use pre-emptive ones except for specific bosses/AVs anyways.
Why not add this functionality to those? -
I've done this 4 times, and beat it 3 times (the first time was the first day when it was supposedly "unbeatable"). The one time I did lose, Sky Raiders spawned right on top of us at the last wave, and killed half of us before we knew what happened. And the healer that survived, for some reason other than running when we all screamed at her to, decided to stay and fight til she died too, which clinched the loss. Coincidently, that was also the only time I've tried it with random pickups in our group.
So I've always found it kind of...easy. Don't know what advice to give, other than don't play it with idiots. -
Er...hasn't it been well established (as well as anything is about CoV) that you'll only pay 1 subscription for both games?

I like the whole event, for the most part. But what I can't figure out is why the halloween badges are listed first in your list there. The badges otherwise seemed to be listed most general to most specific before and I would imagine that these are hyperspecific, being restricted to baddies that are seldom around. Instead I'm going to have to scroll past them every time to get to something else. What's up with that? (Maybe their position on the list will change after the event. Search me.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, this kind of bothers me too...not now, but a few months from now, whenever I look at someone's badge list, the novelty badges will be first...and by then the novelty will have worn off.
