Which, by the way, is the one piece of coding I would give a great deal to learn how to do (in other words, how to add that functionality to a game engine).
As unique as the /demorecord feature is (and on other games' forums, when I've brought it up, machinima artists are like, "oh, hell, we'd KILL to have that in this game!"), I gather it's a PITA and a half to keep working. When Ultra Mode first came out for COH, the /demorecord feature was going to be scrapped, until the official videographer went to them and begged them to find a way to make it work with UM.
Thankfully, they were able to.
But if COH2 ever comes out... no, they'll scrap it. And my heart will break.

Then there's the pizza thing. I'm from New York. I KNOW New York style pizza. (I also know New York cheesecake.) I laugh long and hard and LOUDLY in places that advertise having either and fail to meet expectations. There was ONE place in ALL of Arizona that made New York style pizza, and that was NYPD Pizza. I have not yet found a Seattle equivalent.
Now I'm hungry, damn it.

I joined just around the launch of Issue 10, and absolutely loved it. I ran from zone to zone to zone to participate in all the Rikti invasions I could, just because I FELT like a hero beating the living crap out of the invading Rikti, then giving them the two-fingered salute when they retreated. My en/en blaster is STILL one of my favorite characters.
But for purely selfish reasons, my heart belongs to Issue 14 and the Mission Architect.
Personal filming stage, baby. Oh HELLS yes.
I'll be here til they turn off the servers.

Just an FYI, Avatea... the direct FTP links don't work anymore. (You guys really need to get ALL your vids onto the YT channel.)
EDIT: That also means that most of the links on the MEDIA > Videos page from the main COH website don't work either. The embedded player at the top only goes as far back as Issue 11.

I apologize in advance if the mods consider this 'necro'-ing the thread, as it's been a bit over three months.

I remember when I did my Issue 17 trailer, and all I had to do to highlight Ultra Mode was this...
(I kick myself now because at the time, I was still FRAPSing stuff instead of REALLY going all out with demodump/VirtualDub, so it's not as smooth as it could have been, but still...)

Just saw it. Loved it. Saw it in a packed theatre, and even with a bunch of kids, everyone was just totally into the movie. (And about 90% stayed past the end credits... and you could tell who all the comic fans were coz when SLJ opens that box, you could HEAR the murmurs of, "aw, s*** is that... no... yes... aw HELL!")
(I thought Darcy was the best scene stealer I've seen in ages - "they took my iPod" - especially with the "meowmeow" joke).
I was stoked that I recognized J Michael Straczynski in his cameo, John was stoked he caught Hawkeye in his (we're both hoping to see him in the Avengers film), we both laughed to see Stan in his cameo...
And YES to Kenneth Branagh sticking with one of his favorite (and mine) film composers, the wonderful Patrick Doyle. YAAAAAHHHAAAAAA!
