  4. Hey Avatea, tell the site admin to fix the download links for the Windows Media versions of the files. They're in your ftp://ftp.ncsoft.com/CoH/Movies directory, but they're not linked properly on the site.

HeroCon was all COH players. PAX was not. And Dual Pistols was something the playerbase had been clamouring for since who knows how long ago.

I still think Kinetics Melee looks sweet.

It would be nice to see Horus in PI, I'd forgotten about him...

I really dug his "Level 15 scrapper lft" to end the run...
And also this - I can see it now.

Level 25-30 - the Apex Task Force - "Love Never Dies"
(he was lvl 15 then, let's assume he's made some progress)
This series of seven missions centers around Apex's desperate search for a means to bring War Witch back to life. Doing battle with the Fifth Column (alternately aided and betrayed by the Circle of Thorns, who have their own means of 'transferring souls'), and aided by the Legacy Chain (who would like to have such a powerful custodian of magic back in the world and firmly on the side of right), the heroes enter 'instanced' versions of several zones (such as Croatoa, the Thorn Tree, and other magically-tuned zones) trying to find a way to restore her to life.

    This then leads to...

Level 45-50 - the Lady Jane Task Force - "The Heart of a Hero"
(she's learned a few things since you saved her while helping Montague)
This series of nine missions centers around Lady Jane's quest to restore the Honoree to normality. With the inroads made by the Midnight Squad's discovery of curing the Lost, plus SERAPH's learnings about Rikti/human DNA, Lady Jane needs the heroes' help to retrieve the Honoree, and help him back to himself as Hero 1. However, the Rikti will be less than happy (especially Hro'Dtohz) at having one of their most powerful warriors taken out, and both Nemesis and Crey would KILL to get their hands on the Lost-curing magic, if only to figure out how it works. However, the heroes do have allies in this - Infernia, Glacia, and Ajax, the three last surviving members of Omega Team.

  8. You know, the more people go on and on and on about the Cathedral of Pain trial, all I can say is, if and when that sucker does come back, it had better be "all that and a bag of chips," because otherwise the devs are going to get crucified by the playerbase.

Here, actually, is the second half of the PAX panel, with the Kinetics Melee vid, the screencaps of Electric Control, and the Incarnates discussion. You can only view it from her channel.

That was what *I* called my GOING ROGUE trailer... three months before the announcement of I-17's name. *holds her fingers up to her temples and chants* The videographer sees all and knows all.

And now I gotta remake my INCARNATE video. *sigh*

At least though this explains why the devs got irked with me when in my INCARNATE video, I initially had it labelled as "Issue 0: Incarnate". They told me to take the Issue thing off... but at the time, I didn't think to question why... it's coz we really WERE getting it as an issue!

  16. I personally use Terra Volta for getting badges - Sky Skiffs, Lost bosses, and Freak tanks. But other than that, it's horribly underused. (So is IP for that matter.)

And I agree with Street_Wolf, I would MUCH rather see more content for the existing zones than new zones. I'm sure it'd keep Dr. Aeon, Hero 1, and the rest of the writing team hella** busy from now til forever, but creating new content for the 'forgotten zones' would be a blessing.

The vets would have somewhat of an advantage of knowing the zones, but it would also help the newbies to the game as the vets would also be running the same content at the same time. Even if they added new zone events...

PEREZ PARK/THE HOLLOWS - "Gang War" - the warring factions in the zone are getting out of control, and the PPD/Longbow are being overrun. Intense pockets of fighting must be broken up for things to return to normal (mechanics - the Banners in the Deadly Apocalypse, but more than four occurrences).

STRIGA/TALOS/IP and BOOMTOWN/STEEL - "Blitzkrieg" - the Council (Striga)/the Fifth (Boomtown) are making a massive push out of their constrained zones into Paragon City. Heroes must meet at certain zone points to slow them down. If the heroes beat them back, great - if not, the enemy makes inroads and appear in greater numbers further into the zone. If they make it all the way across, they start appearing in a random adjacent zone. To really make it annoying, major facilities in a besieged zone are shut down (stores, inspiration sellers, radio contacts) because of the Blitzkrieg.

BRICKSTOWN - "Zig Breakout" - the Arachnos Flyer appears over Brickstown to 'break out' several villains. Heroes have to take out the Flyer before the Zig is overrun.

EDEN - "Scorched Earth" - Longbow, with reluctant sanction from Freedom Corps, has decided to take back Eden using a Scorched Earth policy. In a reverse of the Firefighting missions in Steel, heroes actually START fires in Eden to bring the Devouring Earth under control.

  21. Sorina 'Tava' Tavarisch is my grav/kin who is a former Vanguard scientist (and one of Gaussian's operatives), and left after the war to join a specialized branch of the Freedom Corps. As it turns out, thanks to an in-game joke... she is now dating Positron (on the Justice shard).

On the other hand, Mender Anomaly, my en/mm blaster, is the future incarnation of my time-travelling heroine, Johanna Sinclair. Ten years in Jo's personal future, but hundreds of years in Earth's future, she's found by Mender Silos and recruited to Ouroboros.

  23. At HeroCon 2008, six of us went up to San Francisco for the day, and next to the Golden Gate bridge is a plaque that looks a lot like our history plaques. Cue us standing next to it all touching it while other bemused tourists look on...

Then we go to Fisherman's Wharf, where inset into the ground is a compass rose just like our exploration badges. Cue more bemused tourists looking at us as we all crowd around it, with our cameras pointing at our feet.

  24. I could so get behind this.

Imagine if after finishing a major TF, you guys exit the last mission, and there's Amanda Vimes and a cameraman asking, "So, Task Force [whoever], tell our viewers how it feels to [insert last mission objective]?"
