Quote:Eh I think character slots are tied to the Yearly Badges, so I'm not sure if we get that many. (Yearly badges are unaffected by paragon reward tokens)I think I have four or five sitting around. I doubt I'll be using them anytime soon...I have plenty of space to put new characters without opening more slots than I already have on my favored servers...plus I get 12 more for free when Freedom launches (Exalted)!

Quote:Except for the fact that the Boss pet cuts out 2/3s through the escape phase of the BAF.They cut five minutes off the recharge time. Tier three was fifteen minutes, tier four is five minutes less (Ten minutes).
This is only true for the support side. The 'damage side' of tier four is still fifteen minutes. It was an incentive for more people to pick Support.
EDIT: Why does the untouchable pet feel the need to leave my side and close to melee of a pylon that's shooting at me? It can't attack, so why does it leave my side EVER? -
9 - probably a few more after launch, and I'll probably be using them on Liberty. Infinity may have a higher population, but Liberty's Badging community is far more active.
-
Limited could mean that you can't use the auction house to buy them, nor will they drop, nor can you craft - but, any enhancements you already have slotted would still work.
-
For me its not the entire 30s - at 35 Storyarc rewards double, and they just keep rising allowing you to solo as well as an average team (one that clears stuff well, but takes forever in between missions - your mission may as well be to park at the auction house). However, 30-35 is pretty tough solo - mobs aren't giving you as much as before (as a proportion) and storyarcs dont give much either. Plus, after 35 you can go on MotherShip Raids without feeling like a sponge (oh, and the Vanguard Arcs give you HUGE completion bonuses).

Quote:At level 50 you get a 3rd build. Simply have the devs give us that one at level 20 and put a 4th build into the game. And on my ONE dual built character, it was designed for SO/Leveling so losing my IOs would mean a couple minutes respecing.To be fair, some people (former subscribers included) already have a second build that is slotted and used.
I'm not all up-in-arms about any of this nor against the way they are handling it (I'm actually for it), but I can see that something could maybe be done to slide returning players in a little more smoothly.
Again... if not... It isn't wrong to me. They'll either have to pay for IO access (either through subscription or the $2/month option) or slog through respec'ing and/or slotting up a new build.
Having zero personal attachment to this argument... I can see the potential negative impression made with returning players under those conditions.
My only answer to it, so far, is to offer a very short (no more than 10 days) period of working IOs before they get shut off. Let them jump in and have fun before they have to go and respec and such.
Anyway... We can't really just say, "Let them use their second build" as plenty of players who IO'd their builds already used their second builds as well. -
Specifically which recipes and what level? I've got a perma 33 parked Tanker that runs in AE and I can keep an eye out for them. (Assuming level 33 is okay)
Here's the list -
Quote:Eh, I'm not too sure - after Assemble the Team became common, most people neglected to take Recall Friend. Meaning no one COULD recall in incarnate trials (Return to Battle DID work last I saw [don't have it for another two months or freedom's launch, whichever comes first]) - I see the same thing happening here - everyone has a self rez, so let's skip our team rezzes!Let me play devil's advocate here: wouldn't it be better for all teams if more members of said teams had Return to Battle? Who cares how they earned it as long as they had it.
A self rez on an hour timer is problematic - sure my Brute would love that, but my Blaster could care less - he uses his RoTP once every 15 minutes, and that's being very lucky/conservative. -
Quote:Both are available:Wait, do you mean the ability to purchase IO sets off the market / merit vendors per normal, or will people be able to generate them out of nowhere with the paragon store for $$$?
1) The invention system can be purchased on a monthly basis, as can the Auction house and the Mission Architect systems. Prices are currently set at 120 points for Inventions, 120 points for the Auction House, and 400 points for Mission Architect.
2. Uncommon enhancement sets can be purchased from the Paragon Market at a price of 100 points for each enhancement, or the entire set can be purchased at a rate of 80 points per enhancement (Crushing Impact costs 480 for 6 enhancements, for example). Note that these enhancements will level with you, and cannot be traded or sold (they can, however, be transferred to other characters on your account).
Based on initial screens at comic-con the AO (Archetype Origin) enhancements will be for sale in the Paragon Market (the enhancements leveled with you and were account locked like the uncommon sets I just mentioned). -
Quote:Snip.But a casual player would most likely never notice any of the things past tier 1 that are locked out.
For most things I would agree - except the chat limitations: the Help channel is going to be very, very busy come I21 since that would be one of the few ways to communicate with others. -

[SUPER SNARK]
New ad campaign for Praetoria:
"And you thought the Rogue Isles were sparsely populated!"
[/SUPER SNARK]
Really just kidding - its nice having a solo option where I don't get pestered to team all the time (only took me a week to get out with my stalker, and that's because I was working on my Warshade/Widow/Dominator as well) -
-
Quote:Kinda my point - I literally spend more time WAITING to start than completing the task - my SG does Cathedral of Pain runs and we spend more than half our time assembling the people for it.I know you are posting in snark, but if you have a team of 3 other people who really are in it just to get Strike Target assists, it's possible to do a Treespec in under 13 minutes. Less if everyone is level 50 and Incarnate'd.
Chaining Team Teleports and Mission Teleporters plus ghosting to the spirit thorn tree = win. -
Quote:True - I'm a 78 month Veteran (just turned 79 yesterday) and when I tested on first day of opening beta - I had enough to complete tier 8 and was ready to start tier 9.Let's not forget a few other facts:
With the bonus of a reward token for each anniversary badge and one for buying a box, you might be able to get rewards you couldn't unlock yet in the current Veteran Reward system.
Also: badge hunters now get all the old badges plus the new badges. Which means, if badges were money, we could fill a vault with them and backstroke through them ala Scrooge McDuck.
Still not pleased at not being given a token for pre-ordering Going Rogue - I have to use a token to unlock something I already paid for (paid for meaning I couldn't pre-order from the online catalog to get early access to Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning, and the Beta).
EDIT: Referring to the Going Rogue Pre-Order Enhancements, not Going Rogue itself. -
On the other hand it takes what, like 45 minutes to do a Treespec, and 5 of those are in the first mission, and another 10 are swimming to the final mission and completing it. The other 30 minutes? Recruiting 3 other people.

Quote:FYI - Masterworks are going for 100K again. Good job on Demonic and Bones - I was wondering why my 10x Vender posts were filling so quickly.By the time im done with them they will be sittin on stacks of worthless salvage ; D
So far ive fulfilled every bid on Demonic Blood Samples, Runes, Ancient Bones, Masterwork Weapons and Spell Inks.
Dropped the Alchemicals buying price from 25,000 to 13,000 already.
10,241 bidding, 3264 for sale. Chipping away -
Quote:Worth noting that Caltrops would be MUCH larger than the Blaster/Traps version - see also, Ice Patch vs Ice Slick. Also Taser is single target. Single Target disorients are for Melee and Ranged Sets - we'd get the TASER SHOCKWAVE!Using powers already in the game, you can kinda cobble together a Tech Control set:
* Web Grenade
* Web Coccoon
* Wide Area Web Grenade
* Caltrops
* Taser
* Sleep Grenade
* Stun Grenade
* EM Pulse/EMP Arrow/EMP Grenade/Something EMPy
* Flying Turret(s) of some sort
-please note that it would have a cast time of 6 seconds. -
I believe they should give us the option to know ahead of time if someones free before they join an SG - from there WE (the paying customers) should have the choice to let them in - ditto for Broadcast and Tells, and even global channels - give us the ability to choose to ignore free players, but not lock them out completely.

-
Just get me an instanced Hami Raid that's Co-op and I'm happy. Also, that thing about no rewards - is that no tickets, or no exp/inf as well?
-
FWIW: I think we have alot more untyped damage than people might think at first - my blaster's basically fighting with no Ancillary Shield in Keyes because Anti-matter OneShots me without even aiming at me - anyone who has his aggro seems to forget that he, you know, USES AOES. I wish my Fire Shield would get the PVP treatment (resistance to everything) in iTrials.
Also - I run out of greens about 3 pulses in cause the pulse's damage scales to my increased HP but my greens do not.
Also Also - my Brute laughs at Marauder's Nova Fist - I wade into melee, taunt him, and Fire Rebirth radial just as the power icon shows up in my list. I heal the instant after receiving damage, and myself and everyone nearby are at full in under 5 seconds. -
Quote:My thoughts exactly - A Master BAF run is going for Keep 'Em Separated (S&P just requires pulling both to the Add spawn point, KES requires splitting the league into 3 groups, making the jump much more difficult)I think you're thinking of Strong and Pretty. KeS is in several ways harder to manage for your standard League, and is a pretty major deviation from standard tactics. S&P is pretty much a normal run with a bit more stringent focus on the timing of the spawns and the AV kill.
A Flawless MoBAF is doing all 4 badges in one run (or at least, trying to). -
Personally I'd like to see the pulse damage (the 50% upfront) be based on AT Threat Ratings - 4 gets 50%, 3 gets 37.5%, 2 gets 25%, and 1 gets 12.5 (base values only, except maybe Dwarf Form).
The Pulse doesn't make the trial harder by killing my blaster - it just ticks me off that I HAVE to run Rebirth to survive more than a minute.
