    Traps Time Bomb

    I'm pretty sure this has been brought up but I'm too lazy to troll all the posts to see if it has.

    My concern is with the basically worthless power Time Bomb. A tier 9 power in the traps set that I don't see anyone taking. I wish I knew how many trappers don't take this power? Why not replace it with Gun Drone or Cloaking Device? Or maybe an AOE immobilize like Web Envelope?
  3. Kinetic/Archer. Soft cap your ranged defence and use siphon speed to boost hover speed. You can actually farm with this toon let alone solo. Use super speed and stealth IO to get over mob (using hover). Fulcrum shift+mass hypnosis+rain of arrows=love.
  4. I think it's almost essential on PA and fire imps. It's amazing how often it goes off.
  5. Freedom has less activity because Wentworths is down. All the marketeers are boycotting the game

    Not sure why they just don't roll back the old WW.....

  7. I'm on my Stone tank and have 45% melee def and 45% ranged def and Im fighting lvl 50 Possessed CoT Lts. They almost never hit me in melee but hit me 10 out of 20 times w/Mesmerize and 12 out of 20 times w/Psychic Scream. All ranged attacks. Why isn't the range def. working against these attacks?

    Ive got +67% acc plus kismet global. No need to max out damage if you farm and have 10+ fulcrum. Difference in +54% end to +75% end is .07 end/sec which is negated by the 4% recovery bonus.

  11. Update....NCSoft just issued me a free respec. I'm back in business!

    Guess I'm going to have to get used to using the leap power pool to farm if I want to use earth. I'm not a big fan of sitting in the middle of axe welding bosses with just a little bit of resistance...even thought earths embrace helps a little. Granted I will be at the soft cap but 2 hits back to back will put me out and when using hover I might die once in 8 hours of farming.

    So what would you guys rather have farming:

    35% ranged defense (all I get hit with it ranged attacks...no AoEs in battle maiden)
    65% smash/Lethal resistance
    or
    45% smash/lethal defense
    23% smash.lethal resistance
    +200 hit points

    I'll post my current build...I'm using the vBulletin long version and I hope this works.

  12. Thanks for all the replies.

    I looked over the builds and decided to make a fire/kin with stone epic. I like to farm using hover and siphon speed so I took hover instead of leaping. Bad idea.

    I looked on mids and on the power description and no where did it say fissure had to be used on the ground. It's a ranged attack and I figured it would work like tornado...you had to be close to the ground to use it. Wrong.

    Well now Im stuck with it. Used my last respec (I would trade 30 costume change tokens for a respec!). And at this point Ive already bought all my recipes I need for the final build. I really dont want to spend 180 million for a respec recipe and also dont want to wait for the next free respec to hit (hopefully next month). I did send in a petition but I doubt they will be willing to do anything about it. I'll start to cry once I get the turn down for help from NCsoft..lol.

  15. I've been working on my fire/kin now for about 2 years and I want to better her. I know there is a way to but I can't see it. So I am asking for help. I don't want to spend a fortune on PvP IO's. Purples only seem to increase recharge and accuracy. I use hover and siphon speed for battle and super speed for out and about. I dont really like stone epic since I like to run the Demon farm and that armor is basically useless against fire.

  16. I have put together similar builds for each scrapper. Both seem effecient but I'd like to get other opinions on min/maxing, frankenslotting (love that word), and any other ideas on improving these builds that I havent thought of . Any specifics on why one is better than the other would be welcome. I have my ideas on which one I like but I'd like other opinions (so please don't respond with play the one you want...doesn't really help much). I don't plan on using any PvP IO's. These builds will probably end up costing as much as one of those puppies"

  17. Not sure if this was mentioned in the guide so I will add it. For Fire/Kin's Hover + swift + siphon speed can lead to a fast travel power. Also when fighting those darn axe weiding bosses in Warrior Clan/BM farms and Demon bosses...when you are in the air out of melee range they use the wimpy ranged attacks. Also make sure you have some form of knockback protection...the crossbows do KB and you will basically be held for a couple seconds w/o it.

  19. Is anyone having issues with gamma changing when you hit cap lock on your wireless keyboard? I always seem to hit it in the heat of battle instead of tab and it will make the screen so dark its hard to see the foes.

    Forgive me if this has been addressed earlier.
  20. I was told at a raid last night that Hamidon and the mitos can not be deceived or confused. What I'm reading is going against that. Can someone else validate that they can be held?

    Also I was thinking of killing all the mitos and leaving 3 or 4 blues and confusing them to help hold Hamidon. Problem is getting enough people to try something new (like pulling teeth).

    Raids used to take us approx 2 hours to pull off. Now with ED and CoV hitting it takes almost 4. Would love to test the confuse method. Anyone want to hit the test server and give it a try? I'll bring my Illusionist.
  21. My post wasn't to put down your current "Tanker Mage" theory. I was asking can what you are doing be done with controllers of various types. Doesnt matter if controllers are inferior to defenders, I was asking if it can be done.

    So what you're saying is 8 controllers cant do what you are looking to do?
  22. I didn't read the entire thread but has anyone considereed a super team with all controllers? Kinetics and FF are part of their build as well. And with the added double damage after holds the damage potential is amazing. Can you imagine 8 controllers with fireball doing double damage?

    Id like to hear pros and cons for this. Would the controller team be able to defeat the defender team in PvP? Not sure what the exact builds would be. Mind seems to do well in I5. Illusion would work great in PvE with PA getting aggro. I can see a Mind/FF herding alot of baddies to a spot where there are 7 other controllers with fireball at the ready. On test with my Ill/Storm I was doing 400 points of damage per target effected (I believe the max is 8 or 10) with fireball. Multiple by 8...they never will get off a shot.
