  1. OK so the title pretty much says it all. I was inactive - somehow someone got access to my account and respec'ed my FM/SD so I am trying to repair the damage with never having built a toon since Health and Stamina got changed. Feeling a bit lost.

    Here is my swipe at fixing her - can't be all that good I am guessing. That is about as expensive as I would like to make it but could be convinced to spend some extra if it really makes a difference. I am not totally wed to my power selections if your changes make her more durable. Any and all help is appreciated.

  2. Hey all you blaster masters,

    This is my first toon from way back when, I5 I think, I have given him some love over the years including his current build which has made him very hard to kill but he has never ever killed an AV solo not to mention a GM. So, I have given him some i18 love and made him a new build. The build was made to soft cap him and perhaps make him AV solo capable. What do we think? Worth it? How would you change it and how would those changes make him better?

  3. Ah right the quick strikes. LOL I was short on slots at one point and used those to get the easy 1.88% def but then later found slots to put there and didn't correctly slot it.

    One thing I notice is that my original build has much higher recovery, more regen and better s/l damage resist than both builds and, in some cases, significant differences. So are the changes you made to my build making your builds more survivable?

    Is burst going to make this a better solo'er? It will take mobs down faster but bosses, EBs and As?

    I also noticed that one of the builds omits a travel power and inserts ninja run in place of it. Is ninja run a suitable replacement for a travel power?

  5. We had enough people to form two CoP Trials. Each failed. The fist one lead by Wolf-Ire got into the Cathedral but didn't manage to take the aspect down.

    CoP two just missed getting in by maybe as much as a second or two.

  6. With Freedom and Virtue and another I can't recall having had waiting lines to get on them and often running red I moved a toon I had to start on another server (due to the store being down) back to Infinity. I also deleted an unused toon so I could make another.

    Infinity seems to be a good balance of not too busy but active ATM. I hope it holds.

    Here is what you need: In the interest of having the CoP go well, while we figure out the ins and outs of it, please bring a well developed level 50 toon if possible. Also, please get Shivians from Bloody Bay and Nukes from Warburg. It would also be a good idea to stock up on temp powers - you can find many at WW's. Better to be over-prepared and overkill than become roadkill.

    Well we are back: The Legionnaires, currently still a Top 40 SG, is ramping back up. We are one of the oldest SGs around and won't be disappearing anytime soon.

    We have a huge base with all the goodies a Hero could want located near the main doors. All the teleporters, free salvage/insp/IOs avail for full members, empowerment stations and everything else.

    We have also started a VG: The Praetorian Legionnaires and already have several teleporters etc.

    So if you want to join a mature, respectful, fun, organized SG give @Dark Ignis, @Cold Bob or @Defcon 7 a shout in game.

  11. So, I am not a PvPer and all my current 50s are pretty much PvE solo builds. They suck at PvP for the most part. Since I am looking for a project and new challenge before Going Rogue comes out what PvP toon would you recommend I make? Red or Blue side - either is fine but I have more resources Blue side, for the time being obviously.

  13. Of course much of the time you can probably figure out where someone falls in "does it count or not count as a AV/GM solo" their rhetoric. I think its normal for those who have achieved success in some of the games harder objectives (e.g. AV and GM solos) to want to defend their turn and not have it watered down.

    Whether or not its "popular", whether or not you used insp/temp/etc, you have "soloed" if you achieve the defeat w/o resorting aid given to you from another player. If you manage it inside the confines of the game mechanics and the resources given to you by the game a solo is a solo.

    That being said Silverado is correct, soloing w/o any aids such as temps/insp/etc is the purest form and the hardest. Again its a matter of degrees. I do make an effort to indicate if a solo of mine involved aid or not and those done without aid are much more satisfying.

    My Fire/MM is not up to speed, yet, and if a corrupter is anything comparable to my fire/rad controller then the corrupter is going to be pretty damn good.
  14. Perhaps the thing to say is whether your solo of an AV or GM was aided or unaided. Either way it was a solo but unaided is clearly harder. It's a matter of degree really not if it was solo or not. There are plenty of toons out there who can't solo an AV even with temps etc. (Much less a GM.)
  15. If Mids and the game are the same, with the game just being less verbose, then why does Mids include the information for TotN and not other similar IO Sets? Does TonN provide additional effects that something like Theft of Essence or Numina's does not?
  16. So if you look at TotN in game it just shows the normal Acc/Heal/Rech/End etc... But Mids show additional items such as Regeneration and Hit Points.

    So what is the dealio?
  17. Sorry I missed all the discussion so this is a very late entry.

    This build has solo'ed many GMs (not to mention tons of AVs) The BotZ nerf did hurt it a bit but it runs 40+% Ranged Def.

    I think its still a solid build and might even improve a bit with some reworking. If you have a Gladiator's +3% its almost soft capped.

  19. So the real point here is that there are more ways to play this game, and design toons, than just one.

    Any discussion of what is better is purely subjective until someone manages to use some real data. In the mean time it is safe to say that both play styles "work" for someone.
  20. As before moving only one slot from CJ to Weave puts you over the soft cap. Two slot CJ with a LOTG Global Rech/Def and a LOTF Def and same for Weave plus the extra def IO and you get 45.1% Ranged Def. Using LOTGs gets you 30% more regen and 45% range def. Take the -.1% ranged for the +30% regen.

    My over all concern is that you're way under slotted in Stamina and don't have hasten. Combined with running 2 minimum and up to 5 toggles and you are possibly in end hell.

    Flares has better DPS than Fire Blast and you have skipped concentration which is a 100% damage buff for 10 seconds....
  21. I have been building a very similar Blaster and have posted my build recently. I did change one power selection and dropped Rain of Fire and added concentration. I used extra slots for RoF to get you some additional recovery & put one in Maneuvers for extra def and moved a slot from CJ to Weave for some extra def.

    Recovery 3.2 up from 2.86
    Ranged Def 44.9 up from 44.2
    Regen 180% up from 140%
    Recharge 47.5% down from 53.8%

    You will find some resistance to making capped range def builds here as they usually limit you in some way or another. I am a fan of capped def builds as they let you survive much more incoming damage provided, in this case, you actually manage to stay at range. And as the build is not very high on AOE you will get hit from time to time by some big blasts. Might make a good Single Target build which is what I was after.

  22. Hey all,

    On Wednesday night I put together an ITF. Got a pretty good team - definitely a fun one. In the second mish CoH/My computer froze. Then on restart all hell broke loose and I needed to do some serious problem solving to get my rig back up running. (Reinstalled Win 7) So I wasnted to apologize to my team - I hope you all were able to finish. It's poor form and as I run lots of these I don't want to get a rep as a dropper. I don't remember all the toons on the team but I do recall @Obs Inc and Dr. Emerald were on the team.

  23. Good to know about the -KBs. I would probably just switch to the other IO of the set in either case.

    Right so about the Glad Proc. No I don't have it yet - I have the cash to get it but have not decided on what toon to bestow it when I do finally get one. I expect anywhere from 2 to 5 billion :P

    Oh and I did flip the weave Def IO to Def/End in my current build.
