Can a brotha get a patch up in here?
(Edit to fix page stretching) -
How about a mission filled with glowies, where you have to find the correct glowie in order to complete the mission.
The rest of the glowies are insta-team wipe. -
Certain maps have civilians built-in, but of course it's tied to those specific maps.
-
Beats me. Dull zones, duller contacts, horrible contact/mission system. That entire side of the game needs a revamp bad. Wouldn't mind seeing it for I17.
-
That's the best thing I ever saw!
-
Hamidon's merit rewards are being upped to 52 in I15 (as of beta of course, that could theoretically change before live but probably won't). It's not a huge increase, but that ought to generate at least some interest.
Frankly, I'm surprised that you say Freedom doesn't do Hami raids, given the relative size of its population. Before I14 and everything that came with it, Pinnacle was running Hami raids at least once a week. 40 merits = two TF pool random rolls, for something that takes anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and a half to run. Not a bad deal. -

Do you just look for things to complain about? What a shallow life you lead....

You mean like complaining about message board posts? -

Looks good. Eager to get more info/details about the overall issue's content as a whole however (in addition to the general announcement made a few weeks back).
Hopefully it'll be shared before this goes on Test.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, forget I said anything. In fact, I'm kinda sorry I bought into the I15 hype... sadly, I just expected something more. I'm sure the TF farmers are overjoyed though.

For 20 merits, they'll be seeing red. -

The Tinkerer, The Raging Tinkerer, Tink...

Sorry but Stan Lee beat you on that first one by 46 years. -
But the whole point of a Task Force is to have an epic struggle that requires a group of several heroes in order to overcome the challenge. It's not meant to be soloed.
Perhaps a compromise. Introduce some new content along the lines of the Ouroboros TFs; surely a difficult challenge, but one that can still be soloed for those who desire a harder fight than the regular content, which even at highest difficulty can still be pathetically easy for some toons. I wouldn't do this to the existing TFs though, as it probably wouldn't make sense storywise for those tasks to be undertaken by a single person. -
The second one reminds me of a bizarre screw-up I had with one of my Enforcers on my Thugs MM. Blew up one of those buff/debuffing science experiments with my boys inside of it, and naturally we all got knocked back. Except for one of my Enforcers. This is what happened to him:

That's not a still shot of him being knocked back. He remained in the air, slowly bouncing around with his neck broken. That was one hell of a science experiment.

Made sense to me. VEAT = Villain Epic Archetype. Arc is aimed at them, specifically the Bane Spider variety.

Recluse's Victory Arch-Villain Badge Hunt!
Do you need those last badges for the AVs that spawn in Recluse's Victory?
If so, come down to Recluse's Victory and have your chance to earn them!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, that settles it. I'm an idiot.
Carry on. -
You can't. I mean, that would just make them the same account.
-
I don't start with any kind of IOs until 30 (basic IOs) then wait until maybe the 40s to start working on set bonuses.

If there is another time that you plan on doing this, I'd like to suggest not advertising it on the forums. I understand that it brought ALOT of players together, but many were frustrated (not myself) about the PvP involved in this badge hunt.
[/ QUOTE ]
Er. It might also help if you advertise it as specifically being a badging event. Not that I would have taken part either way, but my understanding was that it was mainly meant to be a PvP event.
But maybe I'm just an idiot. -

It seems likely that Statesman and/or any number of other villains played a part in slowing the meteor's descent in an effort to reduce the devastation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Even then. Going by the calculator, the minimum entry speed for an actual meteor is 11 km/s. However, set the speed of entry to the lowest possible the calculator will take (1 km/s), and the crater is still 111m in diameter - and that's after losing almost 90% of its kinetic energy during reentry!
If they had the power to slow it down so much that all it happens is that it cracks the pavement a little bit, they could have sent it packing back into space.
EDIT: Oops, read the numbers the wrong way around, it's actually under 90% kinetic energy loss.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well in that case, they probably used the P.L.O.T. device to stop it. -

Why does everyone seem to think Nukes and Shivans are mandatory temps needed for anything hard?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because at least for the LRSF... they are required. Unless you feel like gambling that it will get finished... which means that you just wasted a coouple of hours.
Now 15 people are about to try and shout me down about how they're not required, but when *I* sign up for the LRSF [which isnt often these days], I enter with nukes and Shivans regardless of what they have to say. And there have been times when my nukes and shivans saved the day. If others want to enter with no temp powers, that's ok; its their SF.
I like hedging my bets. Also, people may quit, and I need an ace or three up my sleeve when they do.
[/ QUOTE ]
What you just said doesn't mean they're required, it means you like to have them and feel like you won't get invited if you don't. "Required" means either "you are guaranteed to fail" or "you won't even get an invite", neither of which is at all true. Proof? Master of Lord Recluse's Strike Force.
It has nothing to do with gambling, and everything to do with people who know what they're doing. If you haven't figured that out, it may account for your difficulties. -

On another note, Bad, I've noticed an increase in highly annoying people in the game... especially joining TFs and AEs. I dont know why... but I've been playing for almost 3 months and never encountered such craziness. Its saddening sometimes.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's due to rampant PLing of new players in MA. They don't know how to play their characters. -
Something is not adding up:

Fire guy: Can someone combine some stuff and make some blues for me?
Bad: leave a slot open, inspirations will drop. Plus you get badges for inspirations dropped in AE missions.
Fire guy: really? Cool! Can you make me some blues?
Bad: No.
Time passes....
Fire guy: Anybody got blues? I need them bad.
Bad: Right click on one, if you got three of a kind you can make a blue.
Fire guy: You can?
Bad: Yes.
Fire guy: LOL! Cool! I had no idea you could do that!

Qhen I'm hard-up for a character name I like to start out with the Seventh Sanctum Superhero Name Generator. Some of the suggestions are not always solid ("Gal Girl") but it's a good starting point.
-
Another problem I think is that people tend to forget that they have inspirations. Catch a Breaths help a lot at lower levels. I recently rolled a SS/WP Brute and found myself hurting for endurance, so what I did was set up a couple macros that would convert certain types of inspirations into CaBs. Voila -- instant inspiration alchemy. You could even, for extra convenience, set up an additional macro/keybind that uses any CaB you happen to have available.
Here's an example:
insp_combine Enrage "Catch a Breath"$$insp_combine Insight "Catch a Breath"$$insp_combine Respite "Catch a Breath"
That's from one of my macros. One key will convert any 3 reds, any three yellows, and any three oranges into blues. The quotes are only necessary for multiword inspiration names. Remember that this will only work for Tier 1 inspirations.
