    Good news, anyone!
  2. How is my Scrapper trying to beat your Blaster at anything? He's just running Task Forces with his buddies. Why do you care how well he does? Unless we decide to race, we're not competing.

P.S. I really don't have any interest in PvP either, I only mentioned it because I couldn't possibly conceive of what other kind of competition the OP might be talking about.

  4. I don't understand what's happening but my Firefox somehow has 100 tabs open now.
  5. Competition is a zero-sum game. My purpled-out Very Rare Alpha-slotted SS/SD Scrapper's gain is not the loss of your SO-slotted Elec/Elec Blaster.

You're not understanding what I'm asking. You said that the Alpha Slot/Incarnate System is a way for a character to become competitive without investing in IO builds. I am asking you what the character is competing in, because PvP is how players compete with one another, and as you said (quite rightly) PvP is a joke.
  7. You're not going to end up as a Loyalist. Your morality can only change on a Moral Choice mission, where you are given an explicit choice which way you want to go during a cut scene. The mission you're describing is not a Moral Choice mission. The "undercover work" is just flavor text, ultimately.

Abandoning a mission will only reset it so you can take it again, so that won't do anything. Try auto-completing one of the missions Calvin wants you to do and see what he says after that.
  8. I wouldn't even be surprised if the Alpha Slot is actually disabled for non-Incarnate content at a later date. I would be displeased, but not surprised.

Imagine being in an ITF facing purple cons just because some members of your team have +4 level shifts and they get too bored beating on grey cons. Does that sound fun to you? Probably not, and hopefully the devs will implement something that discourages such situations.
I am almost positive that later Incarnate Slots will be disabled on non-Incarnate content.

I'm guessing you went with Cardiac?

I think that's silly. It's not going to turn away newer players because a level 10 is going to feel weak compared to a level 50 anyway. Casual players maybe, but that's only if the devs don't develop alternate gateways into the Incarnate System, which it seems that they are (by all reports, the BAF raid is something that can be completed in a relatively short period of time, so combined with the League System there's no reason a casual gamer shouldn't be able to participate unless they're forcing themselves to always play solo).

I think you're really blowing this out of proportion.

Sorry that you "feel weak" but your inadequacies are not my problem. Gameplay-wise, my level shift does precisely nothing to affect how you play.
  13. ...No, I don't think they are. Might want to check your video card settings, or possibly your eyes. I believe most of all of what you laid out is what currently happens in-game (to the best of my recollection).

Not 100% sure this isn't a troll thread...

See above. The bonuses from alpha slots make characters more powerful, and so will the rest of the slots, without the level shift.
Do you understand the concept of "more"? You're basically arguing that since 1 + 1 = 2, there's no need for 3 or higher.

It's fine if you don't feel the need for your characters to be more powerful, but that doesn't mean everyone should be limited by what they can do.

I'm sorry, where is this "competition" you allude to? Does the Incarnate System even work in PvP?
  16. Does anything affect Heal debuffs? City of Data says that Benumb debuffs Regen and Heals, but I wouldn't think that applies to -Heal any more than a Defense debuff would debuff a Defense debuff.

The real question is, how much Heal debuff would a Heal debuff debuff if a Heal debuff could debuff Heal debuffs?*

I would argue that "universal" makes much less sense than "global" and in fact implies the opposite of what LygerZero described.

But that's just me being pedantic.
  18. Set bonuses aren't enhancements. They're global buffs. The Alpha Slot is a global enhancement.

Pinnacle is plenty active, you should follow the advice I gave to the OP and join PinnBadges and/or Cozmic's Playground.
  20. I can't believe people keep reporting this as an actual bug, this has got to be the second thread I've seen about this.
  21. Your first character is required to start in Praetoria if you start a new account with Going Rogue. Roll a second character and you'll be able to choose Paragon City or the Rogue Isles.

    BUT

    Keep in mind several things:

    1. The game has changed a lot. Hanging out in Atlas underneath the statue is no longer "the thing", except maybe on Freedom or Virtue (I wouldn't know, I steer clear of those...erm..."servers").

    2. Most people are playing their 50s, are not in Atlas Park. They're running content to make progress in the new endgame system, so they're spending most of their time on Task Forces, not hanging out in zones.

    3. A lot of activity is coordinated in global channels. On Pinnacle, you'll want to join PinnBadges (ask a mod to unsilence you, being silenced is default for joining PinnBadges due to certain...problem members), and also Cozmic's Playground. You'll find both to be the main hubs of activity on Pinnacle, but again, keep in mind that the endgame is the new shiny, so most people are focusing on that right now.

    4. Yeah, player population is probably down from whenever the last time was that you played (sounds like it might have even been pre-CoV). But it's also a lot more spread out, across new zones, and inside new missions. Not seeing people hanging out in the city doesn't mean the game is dead.
  22. A couple months ago I decided to dust off my level 50 DB/WP Brute and respec him, since I never really finished it and also the change to Inherent Fitness. No clue what the hell I was thinking (disclaimer: I only took the Patron pet because I didn't know what else to take at 49 and just wanted to level up to 50).

Now you know how it feels to be a Mastermind with ranged pets.

    Judgment

Information previously leaked on an iteration of the Test Server. This thread has some more info, which also links to this thread with screenshots of Ion Radial Final Judgement.
  25. I think unsilences sometimes get undone if the global server resets. I'm sure you would have been told if you had done something wrong, it usually takes quite a bit in order to get silenced.
