  1. The following previously reported words are still broken as of this update:

    Recent breakages (post-i20):
Scorpion (as in 'Black Scorpion' the Arachnos Archvillain)

    Longstanding issues:
Regent (as in 'Regent Korol' the Arachnos Archvillain)
Cyclops (as in the Cimerrorean Elite Boss with one eye)
  2. When you're looking for the reason as to *why* a word won't show up, remember that you can expand the Warnings list. It will tell you there why a critter name is invalid (cf Paragon is an invalid name due to 'Aragon' or 'Black Scorpion' is bad due to 'scORPioN' (and no, I'm not kidding, it capitalizes it like that)).

If it's an enemy-group name, however, it will just tell you that the group is invalid without explaining why.
  3. As of right now, I still can't use the word Scorpion in a enemy group name or as a boss name.

Which means I can't have Black Scorpion in my missions. Because of his name....

Can't use 'Paragon' for a boss name because it contains the word 'Aragon'

Can't use 'Regent Korol' still because of the word 'Regent'

Can't name the Cyclops EBs 'Cyclops' because that word isn't allowed.

Still can't have the AV 'Shadow Spider' because it doesn't like the word 'Spider'

I'd guess that the changes that you think are live aren't really live. Or else those changes didn't do what you thought they did.
  4. 'Regent Korol' and 'Cyclops' (for the Cimeroran Cyclops!) weren't allowable before the latest patch. But, as noted, Spider (as in the 'Shadow Spider' AV) now isn't allowed either.
  5. Back in January, Second Measure said that the Incarnate Trials in i20 would bring us more power.
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...31#post3420931

"Issue 20 will unleash the Incarnate Trials that bring you even more raw power courtesy of the next levels of Incarnate abilities."

That implies to me that we should be seeing more slots unlocked with i20. Did I totally miss any mention of that in the overview? I know my reading comprehension is poor sometimes...

The only reason I mention this is that it's an 'overview,' and the unlocking of new slots seems a bit more mentionable than the ability to get all 6 respec badges. I mean, I'm a badger -- I want those badges, but...

So it is. Yay! Thanks for pointing out my error, ZM!

I now enjoy the launcher more than the previous method. Bring it on!
  7. Subjective:
If this is going to be mandatory, then there needs to be a way to make a shortcut to the launcher so that you can click on one shortcut and it goes ahead and launches a particular game. Having to tell the launcher which game I want to play is annoying. It's almost as ridiculous as the 'Next' button in the current launcher.

I never enjoyed the NCSoft launcher when I was playing Dungeon Runners and Tabula Rasa and Guild Wars. I don't expect I'll like it more now, so the easier you make it for me to ignore it, the happier I will be as a customer.
  8. Whatever the latest patch is (there's another new one since my last post), it didn't fix Animal Fur on Flat boots. It still doesn't exist (at least on 'male'). I didn't try out Beast Run again to test the backward run to backward jump animation problem.

I'm certainly hoping it's not locked in, given these obvious problems, at least one of which should be trivial to fix.
  9. Again, this is just regarding the Male skeleton.

I just patched up again. Today's patch doesn't appear to have fixed any of the big problems:

    objective:
    (1) no animal fur on 'flat' boots, just 'smooth' (with heels)
    (2) beast run backward running has no transition to backward jump

    subjective:
    (3) the new cat/wolf faces still don't have options with closed mouths. I've just tried playing on a character who has its mouth open all the time. It just doesn't work. I know concept artists love snarls and emotes, but concept art is a snapshot. We've got to play with it over the long haul. At least the bird and bull heads have closed mouths.
  10. All Testing Was Done with a Male (not huge) body.

    Objective:
There is no Boots/Flat/Animal Fur option. Boots/Smooth/Animal Fur does exist. This is an important bug to fix because Boots/Flat/Animal Fur is the best way for us to use our kilts with furry legs. (Really, this is the only one I expect that you will fix before release.)

As with Ninja Run, Beast Run doesn't flow smoothly between backward running and backward jumping.

When jumping and switching between ninja run and beast run, the character begins to do the new running animation before they land. This doesn't seem to happen when switching between a Booster Run and Super Speed.

    Subjective:
    I quite enjoy!

I would've left the naval off the chest/animal fur texture. Or least blurred it a bit.

The Minotaur tail looks more like tentacles to me than fur because it's so very static as it moves around. But I know animating individual hairs is outside the scope of what's reasonable. I'm just glad we have animating tails at all!

I would have included more options with closed mouths for the cats and wolves. Good job keeping the minotaur and bird mouths closed!

Agreed. Or at the very least, 'Dr. Hamidon Pasalima.'
  12. subjective: Thanks for the fishy biolum! it's also a bit N'avi-ish. Pretty!

I was also confused by the lack of monstrous feet (though happy there were new monstrous thighs).

Happy that the organic shoulders were included on all male chest options (jackets, robes, trenches, robot arms...)

The patch note "Both costume sets include tintable costume pieces, a new feature that allows you to create unique glows for individual costume pieces." isn't very clear. I think it would've been better to say, "Both costume sets include costume pieces with partially glowing textures, a new feature that allows you to create glows separate from the aura system." The way you have it, it gives the impression that the glow colors are independent of the skin colors.

objective: the patch notes mention tails. There are no new tails that I saw.

The patch notes mention 'armor,' but there are no options under male 'armored' chests or 'armored' legs. I realize that it probably just referred to the name of the costume 'organic armor,' but. . . .
  13. If 99% of the pro-prompt people only want it because the sound and visual effect is annoying, and the reason there's not an option in our Options is because the UI people are too busy doing something awesome like Power Pool Power Proliferation (PPPP or 4P), then maybe the animation people have time to just remove the sound and the visual effect. I certainly wouldn't notice the difference -- as EK and I have discussed, after the initial casting, I neither see nor hear it again after the first casting (except perhaps when zoning or being rezzed).

In fact, I suspect those Mystic Fortune continual noises may be not working as intended.
  14. When Faultline was revamped, that was just marvelous. Suddenly you had a very tiny area that was designed like a real city. You had a little market area. You had apartments with swimming pools and hot tubs and chairs. It felt lovely, like an area of town my characters can actually want to move to, even if you do have to chase off the Lost to enjoy a dip in the pool.

I also love the gothic feel of Mercy. All the balconies and ledges and sloped rooftops. Lovely. And the rooftop garden in Port Oakes. Makes me smile. Even the buildings that have holes in the roof and you can jump down into the burned out shells.

Details like that are really enjoyable and give texture to the city.

    More please!

    And thank you for asking!
  15. Good to know it's not just me. I'll /bug it.

I was getting worried with all this talk of greyed out buttons and ww overload messages that I've never seen. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone!

So my theory is still that it's just me.

I'll give more folks time to respond, but if it turns out to be just me, now I have to figure out what that's a bug report or a petition or a tech support ticket. . . .
  17. So I unsubscribed for a month. Now I'm back and i17 has launched and for the past two weeks, Wentworth's UI has been extremely intractable, and I'm wondering if it's just me. . .

Since I've been back, they've released a patch that says it's supposed to fix the spam message (presumably from WW Overload), but neither before nor after that patch, since my return, have I received messages telling me that WW is too busy to process my request. Instead, if I'm bidding, cancelling, or just dragging and dropping into WW, more than half the time, I get no message at all (to indicate either success or failure), the UI appears to accept my action, and between 1 and 10 seconds later it's all undone.

I've learned simply to not believe that it happened until I get the message in my chat window that says "You have paid x to. ." or "You got x" or "You placed x." Eventually, it will go through, but I have to try over and over again, and it's really unpleasant. Pre-i17, at least I got the message telling me it was too busy and certain buttons would gray out. Now I can hit the 'bid' button 10 times in a row with no message, and no buttons graying out.

So is it just me, or is this a common problem?

    Thanks!
  18. Considering that Incarnates are the End Game system, and it wouldn't be an end game system if you could permanently max out your Incarnate level, it seems reasonable to think you'll have to maintain your Incarnate levels somehow.

Also, just like you don't get to keep your level 50 powers when doing a Posi TF, then if Incarnate abilities trivialize current level 50 TFs, I wouldn't expect to be able to keep them while running those TFs.
  19. I like your minimalist approach to recruiting. I shall respond likewise.

    RP?

    Timezone?

    SG Membership required?

    Random SG kicks?

At least on the redside SG, no one with kicking permissions had logged in since one of the characters had been invited.

I, likewise, wish for such a log. Or at least for the SG leaders to be emailed whenever a character quits or is kicked.

    Random SG kicks?

To follow up on Haz' original post now that I've confirmed some things:

We've got two SGs. One redside. One blue.

From the redside SG, 1 player had all 3 of his characters kicked from the SG by the bug.

From the blueside SG, a different player had 1 character (her only one in the SG) kicked.

These two incidents both happened in the past week.
  23. Well, I suppose that even if the shortest words are the most *likely* to be accidental, there's no guarantee -- since 'hasten' was accidental but 'aim' and 'fly' were not (though 'foe' was).

    Congratulations, Zombie Man!
  24. Yay. Now we have every combination of 9 4+ letter long words and 1 3-letter word. Surely one of us will win!
